QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.

He latched on to the horse's flank, teeth sinking in as his bacteria filled maw coalesced into the magic that would form into poison. The beast held on with his fangs and claws as he attempted to keep his jaws latched onto the horse even while it lashed out at him. How he managed to avoid getting kicked with those deadly hooves was beyond him but they missed, narrowly avoiding his chest by mere centimeters.
With his luck the canid decided to ride it all out by pushing it even further. With a snarl he tensed his muscles and leaped, propelling his bulk off the ground and straight onto the horse's back. If he planned it right he hoped to get onto the equine's back and be in the perfect spot to sink his teeth into the back of the horse's neck. Just in case he prepared his maw, jaw dropping down so that he would be able to snap it violently shut should his maneuver work. He kept his ears pinned and eyes narrowed while he allowed his body and mouth to do his work.

Was….was he riding me?! The audacity of this fool was far beyond mine. Pinned ears slammed even harder to my cerebrum, narrowed eyes squinted with unrelenting rage as his teeth sought my flesh once again. My skull thrust forth, my body moving like a snake. With immense power and force, I threw my entire weight into my shoulders, my hind limbs flailing upward and outward as my forelimbs did the same, my back flailing in hopes of bucking the creature from my back. With my exertion, I had aimed to throw him forth, hoping he’d soar over my head and to the ground where I could proceed to trample him - but one step at a time. I was losing this battle, and needed to think quick, or I’d have to run for my life. If this did not work, I had very little faith in my chances of victory and/or escaping. For once, I was thankful the cave was dark.

His teeth met the back of the horse's neck, fangs latching on to secure more blood and leave his own coating of slime for the horse to deal with later. He snarled and growled, hoping to deal as much damage as he could but he did not account for the equine's wild bucking. The herbivore leaned violently forward, aiming to throw him from his perch. The carnivore could feel himself pitching forward, his body threatening to be toppled off but he was not done yet! To keep himself rooted to his spot the canid lessened his hold with his jaws but used his paws to grip onto the horse's shoulders with his strange pseudo-thumbs in an attempt to keep riding.
His eyes shut and his ears were practically a part of his skull as he tried to keep his hold though he had to admit, the wild motions of the horse was making him sick.

Defenses: Pinned Ears, Narrowed Eyes, HOLD ON with his claws and psuedo thumbs
Injuries: Headache, moderate bruise on top of head, nauseated
It wasn't enough! But I wasn't finished yet. The rears and thrusts grew in velocity and force alike. I'd be rid of this foul beast so that I may escape into the dark, away to lick my wounds and plot sweet, sweet revenge. Pinned ears were immovable as my eyes never faltered in narrowed focus. Immaculate hindquarters threw thick, muscle bound limbs behind me, swinging at nothing and slicing through air, but the shock wave was what I was relying on. With each fall back, my head flung back in preparation, then spring forward and downward. A heavy grunt escaped me, realizing my energy was waning. The problem with being a giant was the lack of stamina. I didn't have much left in me, and I still needed to run - time was running out.

He managed to remain on the horse and he could feel the swell of triumph as he felt the beast tiring beneath him. He could finish the creature off right here and right now, bite the back of his neck and clamp down until he punctured the windpipe... But he would hold back. Patience, he would have it. He was trying to be a bit more benevolent so he would practice it here.
He let go with his fangs and with a mighty leap he jumped away from the horse's back. He felt a bit queasy but he would not let it show as he let out a savage snarl. "Despite the disgusting filth you spew I am deciding to spare your miserable life, like the merciful god that I am. Be gone before I change my mind!" With this he flashed his fangs from where he stood a few feet away. His tail was raised, eyes narrowed as he waited to see if the bleeding horse would flee or if he would have to put more fangs in him.
Finally, I was rid of him. I felt disgusting, entirely filthy. From head to hoof, I felt like the slime was dripping from me. A sneer was apparent, though through the darkness, he’d not see it. Mismatched eyes cast toward his voice, and through mighty heaves of breaths, I let a dark chuckle escape me. ”Until we meet again, star boy.”
It was then I took all the energy I had remaining, and turned tail. I kickstarted into a powerful, swift gallop through the corridors. I remained close to the wall so as to have some type of guidance, ramming into it a few times when it jutted out - but it was better than staying near that creature. We’d meet again, that was certain, whether or not he’d like it. When these lights are on, I will find him. My intentions? I wasn’t too sure on them, but I had plenty of time to mull it over.

A whisper reached her in a realm she shouldn't sleep in. A place she shouldn't use for travel. A doorway she entered and now had opened far too many times.
But she took advantage of this space and watched the cave like a spy. Words and phrases that piqued her interest came her to her if she was open to receive them. Now, one of her set minions had urged her awake and emerged from the darkness, keeping care to not disturb Bartos. God of the Stars, she received. Her eyeless face twisted. Who? She followed to the destined place; while en route, images of the battle came to her in flashes, but she arrived to witness the end, an eye forming on the front of her face.
A merciful god? It wasn't hers then. The other, the equine, used star boy as a negative term and she hissed a laugh. Once the horse was gone, her body slid forward and she got a better look at the canine-like creature who shimmered with stars. Indeed, an interesting sight.
"God of Stars," she addressed, the eye on her face narrowing. It shifted and floated like a leaf on a river as the veil of darkness covering her body breathed and moved. "Why plague yourself with this life?" Truly if he were such a god, he would live in the cosmos?

He didn't see it at first, the shimmering coalescing shadow. It was at the edge of his vision, flickering and when he looked he could see nothing... except an eye. Floating, staring. His tail lifted, eyes narrowing as he stared at it. What was this? Was this some sort of shadow god? Watching him, studying him... Judging him? Would it test him as well? The adrenaline coursing through his veins made him a bit reckless but when she spoke his title he could feel his violence leaking way to curiosity. He appreciated when others recognized who he was and as such he stayed his anger. His tail lowered, eyes opening wide as he vainly tried to see what he was looking at better.
Her question, ah, it was a valid one and one that he knew the answer to well. "If I had the choice I would be back in mine own heavenly realm with the other gods but alas, I have been cast down in this earthly vessel for a purpose." She spoke to him with even tones and good questions so he would be perfectly reasonable with her unless she gave him a reason to do otherwise. He could feel his body calming down, the jittery nerves that lead him into the fight were giving way. The flow of slime that had previously pooled at his mouth now stemmed until only the wayward drop would hit the cave floor every now and again. "Once my purpose has been fulfilled... We shall see. Perhaps I will go back to mine own realm... or perhaps I shall stick around for the mortals to admire me." He grinned, a savage thing that made his teeth glitter in the darkened cavern.

She kept a distance, the eye watching him as he watched her. The green substance that lit his mouth intrigued her; but it seemed to slowly disappear the more the creature calmed from its fight. He had mentioned other gods and Senka flicked her tail. From what place did he come? Did he come to this realm by accident perhaps? A misfire? There was only so much she knew, though. She could very well be overstepping her privilege speaking with him.
"What is your purpose?" Her voice was only curious.
Then again, thinking back on the way he worded it, was cast down a negative way to say something? She took a few steps forward, her body shifting in the shadows where his shimmered with a radiance she would never again have. Even the diamond between her shoulder blades was swallowed by the wholesome darkness of the caves. There was a hidden glimmer to it beneath her rolling shade when the lights were on; but right now, she was deprived of even that.
She was entranced. The feline creature felt like she may have been shown a night sky before, in a dream maybe? Was it during the breakthrough in their research? But this Gembound's fur held an unnatural likeness for the endless yawning of black expanse and glittering secrets.
