More peals of laughter rang into the dark along with happy scuffling and noises of celebration. Would that anyone could wander in and hear the happy noises that they made! In the scuffle, she had moved out of the nice warmth of her friend, her own not-quite-so-damp feathers sticking out in every which direction. She had a name, she had a name! And so should her friend!

She copied the 'ssss' sound aloud, though to her clumsy tongue it came out closer to a 'thhh' sound than anything else. She hardly took notice of it, however, so caught up in raucous glee. So she hopped around on her little feet, jumping and wiggling her little wings in a messy flutter with each worded sound she threw out, "Seffy!" She said, (which sounded more like Theffy,) "Saffy!" She almost stumbled, but caught herself. "Sihi!" (That one sounded more like an 's',) "Sevvy!"

She flitted around and tossed around a few more playful tries at a name, a few pleased chitters thrown in there for good measure, happy as a clam in the current moment.

Seven, not to be outdone even in the inky blackness, also hops about - a little naming ceremony for Helle. She lets out a joyful laugh in response as Helle begins gaily tossing out potential names - it was quite endearing, really. Had she sounded like that when she first awoke?

“Sihi!” She repeats as Helle dances about, enjoying the little naming game. “Sehy? Sevvy? Sevvy sounds like the number seven. Seven little feathers on my wings-” She hums out, a tune borne out of sheer playfulness accompanying it. “Seven little bugs to feed me.” And there was another rumble of her stomach, to remind her that that last bug had been quite awhile ago indeed.

“Are you hungry? I don’t remember being hungry when I first woke, but maybe you feel different.” And just like that, her little mind had switched gears - for now. Hunger took priority; having a name didn't mean much if one starved to death. “Perhaps there are some beetles nearby. Or a nice juicy worm.”

Helle danced and sang along with her friend and even did a little twirl on one of her feet (the motion of which was an accidental loss of balance that resolved itself very neatly, but as no one saw, she pretended that she intended to do as much). She really liked the word her friend kept repeating, it sounded so sophisticated somehow! Seven! Seven! So she said it along in a sing-song voice, as cheerful as can be, and even threw her own name in there for good measure every once in a while. Seven and Helle! It sounded perfect!

Her friend mentioned food, and Helle tilted her head at the concept. Food? The word made sense to her, moreso in a vocabulary aspect than one backed by experience. She was sure she dreamed of food at one point, and of the pleasant experience of eating, and the thought formed a particularly strong indent in her mind, but....what was it?

Whatever it was, Seven would know! "Let's go!" She chirped, hopping up and down in the dark. "Food, food!" She hoped whatever a beetle was would go crunch! and a worm would go slurp! It simply felt like that should be the case. "Seve and Helle, get food!" She followed the sounds Seven made when she turned around and started to search for food, and Helle started her own search as well. She didn't turn up anything, but then, she wasn't particularly searching in a very dedicated manner.

Seven. Seven! She liked it more and more each time Helle said it - it rolled off the tongue, the nice 'sssssss' bleeding into the flowing vee. It felt small, but important. Impactful. Seven. Perhaps it was meant to be!

For now, though, her rumbling stomach - and Helle's new fixation - called her attention away. A nice, juicy beetle was sounding more and more appealing after that little burst of energy - though she could not see her little friend, she was sure that she was just as diligently searching for food! Perhaps, though, since she was the elder, it was Seven's duty to pass on what tips and tricks she had for finding a meal - though they didn't amount to much.

"Try to listen for them! Well, for bugs. Seeds don't make noise. But bugs make a tiny little pitter patter with their feet. Or they dig, sometimes." She quieted, trying to make an example out of herself - and listened, head twisting this way and that.

The telltale sound of some unnamed creepy-crawlie caught her attention to her left - she dove after it suddenly, determined not to let it get away! It sounded like a bigger one, after all. Her beak finds something long, and thin, and incredibly wriggly. A worm? No, worms didn't have all these legs. She made a muffled "Hurr!" sort of noise, that might have been an indication for Helle to come close again. It took some maneuvering, but she eventually managed to trap one of the wriggly ends under a clawed foot, freeing her beak for speech as the bug tries to make one last bid for its escape. "I found - something! I donno what it is, but it's big enough for both of us!"

The wayward child paused for a moment in her half-hearted search/playful dance after Seven, and when Seven started to talk, she paused to listen respectfully. What she said made sense; creepy crawlies creeped and crawled, after all, and such actions would make noise, even in the pitch black. It wasn't more than a moment before her friend made her way after such a one, and Helle let loose a surprised, cheering noise as she scrambled after her friend.

When Seven landed a bug, Helle pecked at the ground till she could pinpoint the thrashing creature. She was lucky and pierced it with her beak, cutting it right in half, letting loose an 'aha!' sound of triumph. One half remained under Seven's foot while the other thrashed around, and she successfully picked it up and crunched it up, legs and all, making very happy little chirps of satisfaction as she did so.

That was incredibly delicious! She said as much to Seven, and thanked her profusely for the unexpected delight. She looked at Seven('s direction) in sheer admiration, and suddenly felt an intense need to repay her somehow.

Seven thrills at her success as she wolfs down her own half of the morsel - it had a delightful crunch in her beak, and did much to soothe the hunger that had begun to gnaw at her insides. Yes, today was a good day - whenever today was, at least. A new friend, a new name, food in her belly - the only way it would be better would be the reappearance of the lights. She hoped it would be so, now more than ever. Helle deserved to experience light, not just know what it was.

“Do you have any other questions, Helle? I talked about the darkness… what we might be… and food. I don’t know much else about anything. I mostly… walk. Around, in here, and when I bump into something I change direction.” She frowned inwardly. The accursed darkness made sure not even exploring could be fun, save for the rare excitement of finding someone within the inky black.
