Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.
One would think when she broke free of her cocoon of precious stone, lights and life would surround like the first day when the giraffe awoke. Alas, this was not to be so. Darkness, gloom and almost complete silence had greeted her that day. It took Jasmine some time to crawl out from the trench in which she had fallen into, half expecting for a grey trunk to reach out and help her. Am I alone? The very thought echoed in the gembounds mine, tugging and crushing any hope to seeing her protector once again. The events that came right before her fall has hazed over; mostly because of how much time had passed. How much time exactly was a mystery to the female.
Spending much time struggling to weave in and out of the lightless room of the place she once called 'The Green Place', but without a lightsorce it all just seemed like grey, gloomy shadows of figures who watch and stare; but say nothing. The optimum goal was to find someone, anyone would do. With the lack of light, Jasmine has unknowingly stumbled and walked a great deal of distance, ending up with another place with figures, these tall and towering even one as tall as she.
Legs swung over the moist ground below, seeming to not even have a destination in mind. With each step her heart sunk deeper, as if the darkness all around began to suffocate the poor thing. Never had she ever felt alone like this before. Yes she would be left alone but she knew someone was coming, but the link she shared felt cold and weak, it scared Jas. Was it possible that they were . . . wait, what is this? Something was in her path, something large that she scrapped her leg right against. Is it a fallen tree? Dropping her head down, she attempted to make out what it could be; the lack of light make it difficult. Something seemed familiar about the object, could it be a chrysalis? A big one at that.

Time ticked by in such an unusual slumber, the cycles passing with hardly a notice. Sometimes he could hear his own heartbeat and it was soothing. The rhythm held no matter what and songs could be song to it. Womp wump... womp wump... Sometimes sounds against his egg cradled him deeper into hibernation. Trees would toppled and the noise would reverberate into his chrysalis. The noise he only just heard was unpleasant and unnatural. A harsh thudding directly against the outer shell. He no longer felt safe, warm, or comforted by his cocoon.
As the large bull stirred inside, causing it to start to crack, his ever-rested gem sparked forth, sending a shocking bolt of electricity into the shell. It would shock any who touched it while he hatched... which would surely take no time, as an antler - soaked in fluid - broke away an entire section of chrysalis. A bellow rang out from inside it, clearing his lungs and making good use of them. Then, one leg at a time, he stoop, breaking apart what was left of his small home.
With a few blinks, Wisgi came to realize the room itself was dark and that a rather tall shadow leered over him, so he followed it up to the head and smiled. "Hello, tall one! Hello! I am Wisgi!" he chimed, then stepped away from his sight of "rebirth" and shamelessly began to sniff at her, familiarizing himself.
Trying to get a better look at the stone egg at her hooves, Jas twisted her neck to get as close as possible without having to adjust her leg placement. One of the many cons to being such a tall being, flexibility and grace weren't always in the favor of a giraffe. Did it just move? So sure she had heard something coming from the large gem, but as she leaned in closer the female might have gotten to close. A spark came from the gem and "OUCH!" Taking two long steps back as the walls seem to crack away and fluid spilled forth.
Jasmine would have noticed the new gembound getting to their feet, but she was trying to get her own footing after the startle. Almost missing the greeting all together! "Hello, tall one! Hello! I am Wisgi!""Oh?" Finding it a little difficult to focus perfectly on their face without proper lighting, but could tell he had large antlers fanned out from his head. Maybe a horn too? "Oh hello there . . . I am . . ." Words slowed, remembering what she was told, to not speak to others . . . but Gada was no where to be seen; or even felt. What harm could it cause? "I'm Jasmine . . . you seem large for a new gem; did you wake again?" Just like herself maybe?
The giraffe had only been back for maybe less then a few days, but it was hard to tell with the darkness. "I did myself . . . but not sure why the lights have gone . . ." Concern squeaked in her throat.

Big yellow eyes looked her over and determined her a friendly. Her spots were something else, but the neck was even wilder. He related to her long legs, though, finding them to be a bit unsteady at times. Sometimes his horns didn't help, either. The weight of his antlers and the pyrite horn was a constant reminder to the big bull, particularly when he did a head-to-tail body shake. He lost his balance, but stayed focus on her words anyway, long legs slinging a bid of mud.
"Ah! Jasmine! A lovely name... apologies if I got mud on you I'm... Hah! I'm clumsy, sometimes. All legs, I'm sure you know," he said, laughter in his voice. "I am a re-hatcher, weird to hear you are too. Not sure why I fell asleep. Must've been the broken leg. Got myself trapped in a damn muddy sinkhole. Nasty things."
Wisgi located the nearest small tree and rubbed his antler against it, getting a scratch just atop his head. He released a heavy saw, bending the tree beyond it's limits before he was satisfied. He looked across the darkened landscape, big ears picking up on the sounds of the ever-familiar territory. He couldn't remember right off hand of a time he'd ever left this place, but he didn't really want to, either. It suited him.
Shifting her weight back and forth, swaying slowly, Jasmine would shake her head. "No it is alright, this room . . is already so damp that I would have gotten mud on me one way of another." Tho with her stilts for legs, the mud didn't seem to be any higher then a knee. Listening to his claims, it seem to make sense. After all, Jas did recall pain before falling asleep again. Maybe they slept when it much damage occurs? "Did you dream?" Trying to walk over to less wet ground, away from the murky bog.
Ears twitched, I did, or where they only memories? Unless that's all dreams were? While the giraffe slept, images of Gadi and other gembounds she had met danced in her head. Some of happy events, some painful, but all seem to loop while she had waited to return. but why did she return now? After all, she had only met one being who seem to know of the world they called home but Jasmine never got to meet him more then once. Her protector didn't like her to wander so fair off, to keep her safe.
"I'm not sure for how long I have slept, time has always been hard for me to . . . to follow. " Neck arched to look around, eyes had adjusted a little bit to the darkness now, about time really; but it still felt odd. The gems that sprouted from her neck were once small clusters, but now they grew thicker and wider. Jasmine wouldn't be able to notice herself, only that her neck seem to be stiffer.
The bull had a thoughtful look on his face for a few seconds, then he gave half a shrug. "Recon I did, but I don't really remember much."
He gave a little tilt of his head, noting that she seemed a little lost in her thoughts. Suddenly, she spoke again, still looking a little lost. He hummed his contemplation, then offered up a big, friendly smile of the moose sort, gawking up at her.
"Ah, well, what does it matter? A little time passed, but you're here now. All shiny and ready for life, right? Perhaps with re-hatching, we can meet and make new friends. Hopefully without too many losses among the ones we might of known."
Wisgi mentioned such, remembering long ago as a calf when he'd met a father and son. It was so very long ago indeed. He had nobody, but it didn't bother him too much. Was he lonely? Yes, very much so. Regardless, he always found a way to entertain himself; to pass the time and to remain rather positive despite it.
