Freshly emerged in Orion, little Ashley is a cute little fluffball now, but this silvery kit is on her way to becoming a force of gleefully destructive chaos. There is more to her than just wanting to set the whole place on fire, though those who manage to befriend her and find what she has for a softer side might also find that, with a friend like her, they don't need enemies. She's not big on this whole sharing thing, you see. Nor is she big on a lot of other things required for healthy interpersonal relationships. Still, until she's fully grown and has mastered her fire magic, she'll be a mostly harmless trickster, and might genuinely appreciate some kindness from other gembounds as she learns important life lessons like what not to chew on.

Just saying, but Merc would totally be down to try and father this wild child and fearfully watch her set the world on fire.

*fit of maniacal giggles* Oh, that would be perfect. With Merc for a parental figure, Ashley will grow up so confused and frustrated that he's not proud of her for painting the caves with pretty flames. She might even gain a sense of restraint to the point that she only does the really horrible things when he's not looking.

Yoo, I think Imperia should totally meet her. Maybe show her what you can do with fire magic?

Other than that, if you're looking for a magic mentor, @Kin-Kin is the professional around here. She might not be fire element specifically but she's not only a talented illusionist and has experience with elements other than her own. She's a gifted teacher, despite finding occasional (okay, maybe quite frequent) amusement in being a dick to newborns (lmao). Potential mentor/antagonist there?

I also play @Gabriel ; this hairless dog might not look like much, but he's clever, and likes to be owed favours. He knows his way around the cave, and seems to know exactly where he's needed and when. He's always polite, and though potentially villainous and dangerous, and never tells lies. Potential teacher? He may be villainous but rarely hurts others, and usually appears amicable, if slightly monotonous in tone.

Yes! Feed the little anklebiter's budding pyromania, please. I see that Imperia's got both Smolder Step and Spitfire, and between those two Ashley would be absolutely fascinated.

Haha, well, I'd certainly be up for Ashley meeting another silver fox (it might be good for her to meet foxes in general, really, so she doesn't grow up thinking that she's a weird cat) if you decide to go for it.

And, oooh, yes please on the mentoring from Kin-Kin. It'll be a great way to get Ashley interested in magic in general rather than just the burn-y, explode-y kind, which'll help justify some spell borrows I want to get her down the line to give her some more subtle (and less likely to blow up in her face if they fail) tricks. I can't guarantee that Ash won't try to set Kin-Kin's cape on fire if she's a little too antagonistic, though.

Hmm. It might take them actually meeting for me to know for sure how much, but I think Ashley could get to really like Gabriel beyond the basic I-can-get-something-from-him level. She'd be happy to learn anything he could teach her about the cave or anything else, and might even be willing to repay him someday.

Lmao, sounds like her and Kin will be a fun thread for sure. Kin-Kin probably wouldn't have any of that, her cape is not detachable lol. Definitely up for this though, seems like they both have a mischievous streak.

That sounds interesting! And I'm in need of more threads for Gabe so yesss. It definitely knows its way around the caves by now and is learning fast-ish on the spell front. I'm getting it one spell from almost every element (the sense spells, so excluding fire, light and water) so there's another opportunity for you on the spell learning front. (Just realized I used the wrong pronouns for it before woops xD)

also, since her most recent thread finally seems to be getting sorted, I'm happy to introduce you to @Equinox , who isn't gonna die yay! She's mute but friendly and playful. Oh yeah, and the slime oozing off her body explodes. She has one spell and she tends to only cast it when distressed by complete accident. She's caused two wildfires in this way, though both were eventually contained. Because of her flammable slime, in her most recent thread she's very nearly killed herself when the flames began to climb her body, burning as they went. Potential warning as to the dangers of getting too absorbed with fire, perhaps?

Mischievous streak is...one way to put it, yes, though I see it less as a streak on Ash's side and more the default setting. She likes to poke and prod to see what gets a reaction, and if Kin-Kin's being a meanie, she'll try her darnedest to mess with her back, even if she doesn't decide to go for the cape.

Oh, yes, the sense-related spells are a good thing to introduce Ashley to. If she ends up grabbing Summon Void from the Light list (which I'm quite tempted by), she'll need one or more of those to help her navigate her own darkness and target her victims. I could see her following Gabriel around for a bit, letting it lead her farther away from Orion than she'd normally wander on her own and show her things. Oh, and I didn't mention before, but she'd find its pyrite crown so cool.

Equinox is fantastic (seriously, that is an awesome design) and Ashley would find her intriguing, though Ash's the kind of character who can be given all the warnings in the world that fire is not a toy and just not care; with her, when bad things happen, it's not her problem until it's made her problem, and then it's not her fault. But if the two of them strike up a friendship, she'll at least learn to be cautious around Equinox specifically (and to take baths in between playing with her and starting fires)?
