Since this place is pretty dedicated not only to writing but reading about animals, I thought that this place would be like a good place to post this xD

but yeah, as I've probably told a lot of you in chat, I started a blog during the last lull in a bid to satisfy my cravings for some animal action. owo
The blog's primary focus is book reviews- specifically those written from the point of view of an animal. The species doesn't matter, and so far I've reviewed books featuring but not limited to; wolves, mice, big cats, moles, domestic creatures, and a variety of woodland creatures. I'm always looking for more books to read and I have a whole lot of books currently lined up to review.
On terms of the age range, since the focus of the blog is so niche, I'll be reviewing books aimed at a variety of audiences, and this will be specified at the top of each post. Each book will be reviewed by my own enjoyment however, so if a book is simply out of my age range then it will be discussed but may be scored lower than if I'd reviewed it as a children's book for example. But, on the other hand, I may uncover an unexpected diamond in the rough (see my review of Christopher Mouse as an example).

The blog can be found here!

I'm always looking for suggestions and I suspect that many of the members here have similar interests and may have suggestions of books I've never even heard of before!

(For those of you interested, see here for a list of books I currently own and upcoming reviews.)

I'm super excited to see what you guys think! and I hope that you guys will share some of your own ideas, whether tthat be book suggestions or critiques to my writing style. I can't say I've done anything like this before, so any and all constructive criticism will be good.

@Tukluk

I've not read the first Redwall, but I have got a redwall book on my list! The Taggerung, specifically. I'll probably put that one up next week!

I really love the logo image ;_;! Also I just read through the first part of many of those reviews (before it said there were spoilers) and now I have a lot of books I want to read 8'( I love books with animals or from the perspective of animals! I'm currently reading Robin Hobb's books (starting with the Farseer trilogy), but it isn't told through the eyes of creatures, though they are a very important part in the stories. The Rain Wilds series follows a group of dragonriders (I guess? I haven't looked so much into it to avoid spoilers) but the characters have dragon companions, who have names/personalities/etc. I love dragons so :K I'm really looking forward to those. Dragon Champion looks really cool, I'm definitely going to look out for that one.

Also I saw Plague Dogs on your list. That book is :'( feelings. There is an animated film of it also (as well as Watership Down).

I don't know if you're interested in books about animals rather than from their viewpoint, but both Because of Winn-Dixie and The Tiger Rising by Kate DiCamillo are good, quicker reads. Also Time Cat by Lloyd Alexander is a fun read, but gets mixed reviews. But I mean, a time traveling cat? Um yeah, lmao, count me in. (We really like to read time-travelish books so it was a win-win for me anyway. Time-travel+cat=pls)

A bit different, but Dogsbody by Diana Wynne Jones is interesting. It follows a dog named Leo, who is actually the star Sirius but he got banished to Earth. It's a really unique read.

@Game Master CJ

I do try to keep spoilers to minor ones in my reviews but sometimes they're part of an important point. Either way, I'll always put a warning in the review itself before major ones so the reader can skip if they wanna read it; you noting that has definitely made me consider that though, I should probably bold the exact amount of the spoilers at the start. I'll let yall know when I do that!

I did start to read a Robin Hobb book a while back; I can remember enjoying it but I never got around to finishing it. I can't remember which one it was exactly but I can remember being really interested in the life cycles of the dragons. I should restart it! :o
Also, perhaps you could check out my Darkstalker review? That's a really good one about dragons. Not flawless by any means but I really enjoyed it when I read it. :D

Ahhhh I just watched the animated Plague Dogs movie the other day, it was heart wrenching! ;^;

I generally stick to books from the animal's perspective, though I can remember reading Because of Winn Dixie when I was a kid; don't remember much about it other than that. I've never heard of the Time Cat before, is that one told from the cat's perspective? I'll definitely have a look into it :o

Dogsbody's concept reminds me a little of what I've heard of Fluke by James Herbert- another I'm planning to read soonish. It sounds very interesting though :o
Edit: now I really want Dogsbody xD

Time Cat is third person if I remember correctly, but the cat does speak. I read that a long time ago but it was still pretty fun.

Dogsbody is super interesting! It has mystery, romance, and feels. About stars.. lmao. But it's really neat, not often do you get to read a book personifying the actual stars.

I'll check out your Darkstalker review! I did see that one and it's nice it's a standalone, I don't want to start another series before I get a chance to finish the one I'm reading currently. I can read like three books at a time but I'm really enjoying these, so trying to give it my full attention x( which is hard when there are other books I wanna read ;_;

That makes sense!
I've just been through and edited the spoiler warnings for ya! :D

I've found out I can get it on the website of the local book store so I might see if it's in there :o

I can imagine! i'm sat on so many series at the moment lmao

@Tukluk Just posted a review of The Taggerung: A Tale of Redwall if you're interested, Fira! :D

Don't remember too much about it other than that I enjoyed it as a kid, but 'Time Cat' reminds me of garage sale book read a long time ago. "The Cat from Outer Space" seemed like fairly kooky title for a book and was apparently good enough that I hunted down the VHS from nearby video rental place after I finished it.
