Eythan was making a slow- and quite frankly, boring and aggravating- recovery back in Canis. This left the scratched up King to do some work away from home. His brother had taken a welcome liking of sorts to the two new gembounds growing in their home, and he could trust him to watch over them while he made an important trip to Polaris.

He couldn't handle all of this responsibility alone, and he needed a healer. What's more, their growing Kingdom needed more hands on deck. He'd find some able bodies looking for a purpose in these otherwise bleak times. Polaris would be a good place to start his search; any hungry or adventurous gembound ended up in Polaris at some point.

He glided easily into the warmth of the grand core. The Spire's ebbing was a welcome relief for the hungry male who flew a lap around the tower just once for good measure, before soaring out over the rest of Polaris proper.

How to go about this...

Well, he'd look for people, first. Greet them if they were friendly enough to let him land near them. He kept to the lofts of the cavern to watch for signs of life below, white and fleet like a star against the night-hued ceiling.

Felina, a runty female bobcat wanted to try to hunt some new kind of prey. Not that she had any complaints about the mice and other small mammals she usually consumed. She just wanted to try something different.

When she heard running water, Felina followed the sound. Of course, she didn't know that she'd entered Polaris. She'd never been there before. Despite being seven cycles old, there were only a few places she'd visited.

She stopped at the riverbank for two reasons: She was tired from traveling and she was thirsty anyway. The water reflected off the tiny bluish gem (blue sapphire) between her two rearmost teats (she has a total of six teats: two on her chest ((similar to mammary glands)), two on her stomach and the last two located as described earlier in this sentence)) ). She sat on her haunches, watching the river's flow.

After lapping up some water, Felina stood there, completely awed. She looked all around the room, purring happily when she saw so much beautiful scenery around her. She wasn't able to see the regal-looking figure (Carni) that was far above her.

Vianne walked through Polaris, looking around. She hadn't been here in a while, sticking around in Eridanus for the most part. But when a fire broke out in the area, she fled, and now found herself in the heart of the caves. Her white fur stood out against the colorful scenery, though she didn't care. She'd never had anyone who attacked her. Why would that change now?

Walking carefully, she looked for others. She hadn't interacted with anyone in a while. She was feeling a bit lonely, if she was to be honest to herself. Maybe that's why she walked to Polaris. There were always a lot of gembounds in the area.

While looking, she happened to look up and noticed someone flying around. Their fur was white as well, and if she looked closely, she swore she could see a flash of blue. Their gem, perhaps? Sitting down, she followed the creature with her eyes. She was by a river, and noticed there was a cat there, looking around and purring. She didn't come closer, instead deciding to leave the cat be. Her gaze turned back to the flying gembound.

It took a few moments, but finally, a life appeared down below. A cat, by the looks of it, but almost entirely missing her tail! She didn't seem bothered at all, stopping to take a drink at the river. Carni took another glance around, and for a brief moment, all but locked eyes with the doe that had spotted him first. He blinked, hovered a moment to indicate that he'd seen her, then with a roll of his head, invited her with gesture to follow him.

Then, he circled down to land a few meters up-stream from where the bobcat had paused to look around. He landed easily, and shook his wings out once he'd settled on all fours. Had he the size to match his regal appearance, he would've made quite the majestic entrance.

"Hello!" He greeted to the cat, charming smile in place, though the fresh claw marks around his horn, the spiraling gouges from it, dimmed his normally refreshing smile a bit.

Felina had just finished drinking her fill of the cool, refreshing water in the river. Just as she was looking for fish to eat, she heard a male voice say "hello!". She was taken by surprise, then turned to face the speaker.

She was surprised a second time when she saw pure white fur...and wings...and...was that a horn on the male's head? What kind of creature was he? More importantly...was he friend or foe?

Her voice was slightly shaky when she spoke: "Who in The Caves are *you* and just *what* are you? Feline? Canine?" Felina paused for a moment, then asked more questions in an anxious tone of voice: "Er...is this whole place your home? Did I trespass? P...please do not hurt me..."

Aeroth had actually just been coming back from that awful room of bones, following the deer absently when she happened to look up. "Oh well what have we here" She thought, a smile tracing along the sides of her face. She stayed back a bit though as he landed, hiding behind a tree until she knew the other predator wasn't a threat. "Well there's a familiar face, how is my heroic savior doing?" She said with a purr, swaying over until she's right next to the hybrid. Sitting and looking up to him with a bright smile

Seeing the gesture the flying white gembound made, Vianne stood and followed, walking closer to the cat. She sat down nearby just as he greeted the cat, and turned to see her reaction. Flicking an ear at her response, she let out a small chuckle. "Relax. He doesn't seem to be dangerous, having approached you in a rather friendly way." Her gaze turned to his gem in the shape of a horn, noticing the spiraling gouges that looked recent.

"Something seems to have happened to your horn. It looks rather recent; what happened?" She had just finished speaking when someone else approached. It seemed this one knew the creature, so she backed off a little to allow the two to talk.

The cat wasn't much smaller than he was. He was surprised when she responded with nervous fear. Had she never seen a hybrid before? Pinkish eyes blinked, and he was about to assure her that he was indeed friendly, when a familiar voice suddenly purred nearby. Aeroth! He perked up upon seeing her, and turned to brush her shoulder with a gentle wing in hello- suddenly very grateful to have her there, a familiar face, just as he'd been about to lose his nerve.

"Heroic savior." He echoed, bemused. "Well, I'm actually just greeting these nice 'bounds to see if I can't convince a few to come back with me to Canis." He'd be honest and upfront about his intentions. He turned to the doe as she approached, pointing out his horn's newly curled shape. He winced a bit, remembering the feeling of Eythan's claws raking across it.

"My brother and I had a disagreement. That's part of why I'm here, actually." He smiled, charming as ever, because that disagreement had apparently resolved itself by now.

"I'm getting ahead of myself, though." He bowed, regal, with wings flared in such a way that the motion wouldn't bump or jar Aeroth beside him. "I am Caerwyn Vita, and I am the inherit King of Canis." He sat back up, with an ear falling back in slight shame. "Except, now it appears my kingdom's become rather empty since the long sleep. I'm looking to fill its halls again, inviting others to take refuge and make a home in Canis, under my protection." He glanced between the cat, then the deer, then to Aeroth, inviting each one with his stare.

"As well, my brother, Eythan, is wounded from our... disagreement. I also seek a healer, if not to join, than to help." He thought of Eythan back home, crippled from the waist down since falling. He'd like to have thought it the other hybrid's own fault for attacking him mid-air, but...

...he still felt responsible. He'd fix it.
