Orion seemed quiet. Or, at least it did to Cure. The leopard hybrid sat perched, paws pressed close together as they easily balanced atop the throne as Sapphire eyes peered down behind it. Little shards remained of his birthplace. Only that of what he could guess to be the bottom of what had been his Chrysalis remained to show where a gembound had first awoken and took their first breath. Right next to the faded blue turquoise was the remains of another Chrysalis. This one a beautiful combination of red and green. A gem that belonged to none other than his beloved twin.
Thoughts whirled and twisted through his mind as Cure found himself merely reminiscing about the days he had first come into these....awful tunnels. He remembered seeing his twin for the first time, and though they had always been bonded since before they were even released from their gem, it was still something fresh and overwhelming. Then there were the faces of their parents. Amaria, her dear mother whom she had no idea what had happened with the feline, and that of her father.
His heart seemed to twist painfully at the mere thought of Cancer. Even now after all this time Cure always found himself becoming upset over the fact he was just...gone...and he had no way of knowing how or why it even happened. Disgust was quick to consume Cure, his nose wrinkling to expose the sharp fangs that lay hidden behind obsidian lips. How disgusted he was with himself over how weak he was as a cub. He had gone through so much and had not once grown stronger from the experiences. How many times had he fallen victim to his Chrysalis? How about the time some vile herbivore had taken him hostage and damn near killed him had it not been for a canine he had not even heard whispers of since his recent re-awakening. His father could have probably still been alive to this day had he been around to help defend the attacker. Cure couldn't even remember where he was at the time when he found out about Cancer.
Alas, it was all in the past. Nothing he could do now could change anything. His long tail twitched sharply a few times before beginning to sway to and fro. There was truly no point in drudging up memories about it, no real reason to even bother himself with such things anymore, but even still....Cure still couldn't help, but want answers. Even when he knew there was no way he would ever find out now.
With a shake of his head, the large feline rose to his paws and skillfully turned from his perch and jumped down into the seat of the throne to peer down at the ruins that made up most of Orion. A twist in his gut caused a short snarl as his gaze swept over the arena, but the memory was quickly shoved away and he was soon to lift his gaze to the twinkling lights above. It wasn't until he heard rocks tumble across the ground did the feline bring sharp eyes down to peer through the area. Was someone else there? Ears perked forward into attention, listening for another sound.
Along his back scurried a rather large echoing grey, climbing all the way until it perched atop her skull between her horns. Cure ignored his familiar now even as her chittering voice reached her mind through their familiar forge. He had found his little familiar only hours after being free of his chrysalis again. She had stayed nearby the entire time simply hiding and waiting. Cure was definitely content to have found that his familiar was safe and sound.
When nothing else was heard Cure heaved a sigh and slowly prowled down from the throne and began his descent into Orion's maze of ruins. He wasn't sure where he wanted to go from here, but he was sure he would find his way to somewhere at some point. He had half the mind to go check out Canis, after all it had been his home for a short while as well and perhaps that where his mother would be. Probably not, but a cat could hope couldn't he?
**IGNORE THAT ROLL?! I guess I accidentally hit something...the roll wasn't for anything.
