@Xerxes
Within hours he had gotten the hang of feet, and was parading away from the shards of corundum within which he'd been assembled. Mori didn't stray too far from his father's side - the pale creature of fur and feather was of utmost importance to the newborn - but he felt compelled to practice all the same. At first his hips had wobbled, and he'd fallen to one side or the other more times than he could count. His feet were big though. Big for a child, big for his species - he was likely going to grow up to be even bigger too. But Mori wasn't aware of these things; he was fully focused upon the ground, looking at the strange formations of the dirt and the stone, and studying the footprints that lay undisturbed all around him. From time to time he'd balance precariously on one foot or the other, and try to place one raised foot upon a shape - seeking sameness, or something. A childish game to see if his shape fit anything he'd found.

Nothing would, of course. For now the game was entertaining enough.

Living in Canis again hadn't been so bad. He hadn't been thinking about Cure - all he'd really been thinking about what his role here and how he could be better, how he could help more. Xerxes was happy to help Carni with anything he needed, including with Eythan. It seemed the hybrid was having some troubles, though the lion hadn't pressed either as to what was causing him such pain. Xerxes could do little as far as help though, so he was only simply curious and worried.

There was something new toddling around the cave though, and it had the man intrigued. He'd never seen something so strange before, something that looked so old while being so young and small. For a while, he watched it from a distance on a rock he'd warmed simply by laying on it. To get him to move from this warm place would take a great deal of encouragement.

However curiosity was known to kill the cat.

Finally, he rose and stretched, shaking his mane out, and heaved off his rock like he was off to play with this strange thing. Trotting up to it, Xerxes stopped some feet away, his tail swaying and flicking with a kitten like wonder with a playful smile on his face.

"You're new around here, who-what are you?" He doubted the small bird? knew what it was, but maybe this was some kind of sad hybrid and it's parent or something would come and explain things. Or maybe it wasn't, and it just looked like Eythan and a chicken had a baby...

The child was intent on finding the right shapes, and did not notice the massive ebony creature as it approached until it was too late. Even then, Morigarra's reaction was much more subdued, likely because he hadn't been taught how to feel about big scary monsters yet. The lion was like an embodiment of the shadows throughout the cave; this particular shadow could talk like his father, could walk like his uncle. So it wasn't that scary. The boy looked at Xerxes with an almost blank expression, and then chirped, "G'rraa!"

"Woah little man!" He laughed as the child chirped at him, it actually freaking him out for a second at first. Xerxes tilted his head and the playful smile returned. "What's your name, kid?" He questioned, reclining onto his haunches for comfort. He still wondered if this child was somehow a spawn of Eythans, or anyone really, but it wasn't like it was uncommon for new gembounds to not have parents. First generation gembounds were more common that hybrids, so upon further thought, he began assuming he was just a first generation, especially since there wasn't a parent around.

@Xerxes

The creature spoke, and Mori silenced just to watch his mouth-parts work. He tried to imitate this by opening his beak, but a beak was not as pliable as the other creature's soft facial bits. Still, he seemed to understand the question - and without much thought he shouted, "Morigrr'ah!"

The little creature spoke it's name, or at least he thinks it said it's name, and Xerxes smiled still with a little laugh. "It's nice to meet you, Morigr'ah," he said, trying to say it the way they did the best he could without mocking him too much, though he wasn't sure he'd hurt the gembounds feelings too much if he sounded too much like him.

Mori liked the sounds the creature was making. He gave a jaunty series of chirps and coughs and wiggled happily, only to stop and stare at @Xerxes for a few seconds. This creature looked like dad but was very, very different. What were those things shining on the sides of his head? Suddenly the babe was interested in the large beast's horns, and with a new curiosity Morigarra began to try and reach for them. He didn't have arms to use for climbing and was not stable enough to do much with his feet, so he just kinda.. crowded the feline, and used his long neck to try and get at those horns with a few pecks and grabs.
