QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.
I'm heading to Polaris to hunt. Remedy sent through her link to Cure as she left him sleeping to do so. I'll find you later. Ping me if you need me. With that, the hybrid had left her twin to rest, aiming to bring home a deer perhaps.
If that failed, Polaris had good fishing in its river, plus she'd have the energy to keep trying if her first attempts failed, thanks to the Spire. Without it, failed hunts meant no food for the day, unless Cure managed better. She'd rather provide for him, though; after all, she had a much easier time with it, her flight giving her a distinct advantage. So she made a real effort to head out first.
The hybrid made quick time on the wing to Polaris from where they'd settled prior.
Now, she circled the cave entirely from the air, grateful for the warmth of the Generator granting her easy thermals to ride. Below, the golems went about their usual business and other gembound could be seen mulling about; but for now, no prey. She sighed as she continued her lazy circling, ever watchful from above.

Amras
Another day, another experiment. Today Amras stood on a rock in the middle of a slow-moving section of the river that ran through this room of abundant energy. His wings were folded back rather than at his sides, distributing his weight so he could balance on back paws with ease and his front talons were held with palms upright as he mentally prepared for the next spell.
For each of his spells he had always shaped the raw energy close to his body, with any projectile effects being a result of the energy manifesting outward with force. What would happen, though, if he tried projecting his energy away without allowing it to manifest? Here in the middle of the shallows he was unlikely to cause any damage to himself or others so he was free to practice as much as he wanted at this novel form of shaping.
A soft white glow shone from the quartz on the gryphon's forearm as he began the build phase of the spell. He had to be careful with this one; build too much energy and the spell would try to manifest during the shaping phase, build too little and the spell would fizzle into nothing and become just another bit of latent energy in the atmosphere. The energy pooled in his right talon, mostly invisible to the eye but projecting a soft, almost ethereal glow. Slowly, carefully, he attempted to shape the built energy away from his body, moving in a soft sweeping motion as he turned his palm over and moved it a few feet toward the water. The connection was stable so far, with the molded energy extending a few feet still beyond his hand and just over the water’s surface.
With this being his natural element, the new techniques seemed remarkably easy to establish... or perhaps it was that his previous experiments into learning new elements had been so complex that this appeared to be easy in comparison. His thoughts wandered, weakening his vigil in keeping the oddly shaped spell stable. The link between the projected energy and his body became thin until before he could reclaim focus it snapped into two. The projected energy dissipated in a crackling shower of sparks and fizzled into nothingness.
The bright blue gryphon sighed, but couldn't really get frustrated. He'd been trying a lot of new things lately and surely not everything would be simple.

ROLL 4
Amras attempts to Cast Spell — State Change( Place raw energy into the surface of the water )
A glowing shine from the river drew her attention as soon as it appeared. She watched its blue caster hold the spell only for a moment before the shimmering surface that had spread across the water had vanished into a plume of sparkling spent magic.
Rem circled down purely out of curiosity, only to hesitate as the blue figure became clearer. He looked... looked just like... her!
Excitement flushed through her and overflowed through to her link with Cure, and in an instant she'd landed on the shore near him.
"Hello!" She chirped, sounding so much like her old, friendly and outgoing self again. "That was a pretty cool spell! I bet if it'd held, it would've been even cooler, too." She eyed the way he stood and then sat upright to almost match it, waving a taloned forepaw at him. "My name's Remedy. Hope you don't mind my interrupting."
Amras straightened into a full standing position again, bringing his talons back up to where they had been as he mentally prepared to give the spell another try. Before he could act though an odd figure touched down on the shore nearby. The mage nearly jumped at the surprise of the guest's arrival and appearance, was that a...
"Oh! Thank you."
He stammered back, attempting to regain composure. His expression showed no disdain or embarrassment, but a blank amusement as he tried to gather his thoughts all at once and shift mindset from his project to this new interaction.
"I'm Amras, originally a resident of the room of winds." he continued on, much more composed than a second before. Talon waved back returning the gesture and he folded his wings by his side, dropping to all four limbs as his weight distribution shifted.
Another gryphon? He thought as he pushed with back paws and started to make his way back to the shoreline. I was beginning to think I was the only one. It looks a bit different though. It doesn't seem to have talons like mine, and its fur is extremely thick. I bet it doesn’t have nearly as much trouble going through the icy tunnels as I do.
With a final step and thankfully no trips the blue one managed to make it to shore, sitting down a conversational distance away from Remedy. "Don't worry about interrupting, I've been practicing all morning and I should probably take a break at some point."
