The corridor is barren as always, without so much as a stone out of place. It looks as if nothing has crossed through the area for quite some time and the dust is untouched - except the more one looks at the floor of the corridor, the more obvious it is that such a claim is false. There is a disturbance along the length of the corridor that looks as if something has been dragged from one doorway to the next - a disruption that is about a foot wide which follows the corridor and then, nearer to the entrance to Canis, dips towards a crack in the wall where an irregular hole has appeared.
This is open to anyone!
Important: The lights are still out. Are you sure you want to investigate?

"No no no no no no no no no.. they're gone they're gone again.." Aeroth had been just a kitten the last time the lights had gone out. She stumbled around in the dark, forgetting how to move around. Then she steadied herself. She swiveled her ears around, searching for any sound. Hearing none, then sniffed the air, and caught a scent. She walked to where it was strongest and felt the trail in the dust of the floor. "What in the caves.." She yowled loudly, hoping that some of her fellow marrowbound would hear her and come to her. She started following the trail until she came to a crack in the wall. She continued following it, keeping low to the ground, crawling into the hole without even realizing. The dark was so thick she couldn't even see the narrowed walls to either side of her.

Notes: If a description could be added on what she would notice upon entering the hole to the next GM post it would be appreciated.

The hole comes to an abrupt stop a few inches from Aeroth's face, and while they are able to move from side to side, it isn't long before their shoulders hit their own limits. The cat's only options are to reverse or linger in the dark hole, because it does not appear to go much further. If it does, Aeroth is far too large to continue. However, whatever Aeroth is touching within the hole feels warm, a contrast to the dry, gritty, cold stone of the corridor behind them.

The death of lights meant little to Yuma, with his large eyes and large ears he was practically built for roaming around in the dark. Even more than that, with a little help from his magic potential, he found he was able to cast a little light into what might have been unnavigable darkness even for him.
Thus the small aye aye found himself wandering the edges of Marrowbound territory, shrouded completely in rolling shadows with only glowing eye and glowing scar-like gem shining out from underneath. Though he should have been out attending to his task of cleaning up the caves he really couldn't be othered to act on that duty, especially now that there had been such a large change in the atmosphere. A loud yowl interrupted the silence coming from the tunnels, indicating the start to what would doubtlessly turn out to be a grand spectacle of unknown phenomena.
With shadows trailing behind him and red light illuminating his path Yuma rushed toward the origin of the sound. Was there an enemy of the kingdom, come to try to kill everyone in the absence of light? Was there a spectre from beyond the grave who took offence to their desecration of the dead? Perhaps it was just an interesting looking bug.
The actual source of the sound was not particularly exciting, he knew that cat, but it seemed to be studying a hole in the wall. Had that been there the whole time.
"Hello, friend." his attempted 'be friendly' voice rang out as he contorted his face into a toothy smile. Of course from behind the shadows that continued to wash across him all that could really be seen were those glowing red eyes and hints of his teeth. "What mysteries have you found on the edges of our land?"

Aeroth flinched in surprise as she heard a voice behind her as she was in the hole. She couldn't describe what it was like in there.. it was warm. Which was odd, Canis had always seemed to be chill, where would the warmth be coming from?? She wriggled her way out and turned to where she thought the voice was. She yelped as she met with glowing red eyes and teeth. springing back before looking closer, recognizing the eyes as that of Yuma, the bone-picker she was.. less than fond of. "Fuck me dead! Sodding 'ell you little bugger! Trying to stop my 'eart from shock?!" She gave herself a moment to calm her breathing. "Now, I would have said before you scared me 'alf to death, that I don't know what I've found. I just know this trail is fresh, and I can't get any further down that tunnel. I'm too big." She eyed him for a moment, noticing his smaller stature. "But you know.. You're a great, wonderful addition to the marrowbound. I could see you even being a chief magis or something like that, but as a marrowbound, you have just as much of a duty to protect Canis as us Virtus. And as such, you should prooobably try to wriggle your way down in their to see what I couldn't. All I know is it was oddly warm. That is, if you truly care about our homeland you would go down there."

The ghostly aye aye didn't react at all as Aeroth had their little freak out. Curious. Why did these talking creatures so often display emotions of fear when they saw him? Wasn't that usually reserved for encounters with larger creatures that could cause conditions they were already averse to? Obviously it would be a long while before he would truly understand how these alien entities functioned.
"A tunnel?" Yuma parroted, dropping down to slink across the ground right past the big cat's legs and toward the hole in the wall. He hadn't quite entered yet but something felt strange about it. Indeed it appeared to be perfect for a small creature like him but would have given the larger feline no end of trouble.
Aeroth spoke again, but this time with a tone that Yuma wasn't sure he'd ever heard from them before. Honey drizzled words, sending out promises of power and appeals to group loyalty. Of course Yuma had very little deep interest in becoming the king of the janitors, especially as he was the only one he knew of at the moment, and at the end of the day the group could thrive or crumble to dust for as much as it would actually affect him. Still, he was trying to play the role of an automaton like the rest of them and it would be a shame to quit the game so soon after starting it. He'd play along, show 'loyalty' and 'courage' in the face of the unknown.
Plus it was indeed an unknown; that alone piqued his interest a bit. "I won't let the kingdom down." he spoke in an attempted 'happy to help' tone. Shadows continued to roll off Yuma as he crawled into the odd tunnel and pressed ahead, his way lit by beady red eyes shining out from the dark.

Within the hole the warmth prevailed. Oddly enough, the same limits appeared for Yuma despite the size difference between the two gembounds - they could only go so far before the wall ended an inch away from their face, and there was only enough space for Yuma to slide back and forth a little bit, just like with Aeroth. It was as if the shadows had constricted to compensate for the new arrival.
After a moment the air seemed to warm even further. There was a very faint sizzling sound within the darkness, and you could've sworn you saw something move in there. It was a tight squeeze, and likely becoming quite uncomfortable for poor Yuma.

"Hmm..." Yuma mused as he shuffled a bit, trying to gain a bit more distance into the schism. This was a mystery that needed to be solved! Pain of an odd kind thudded through the tiny creature's body as claws scratched at the sides of the tunnel and head searched for any way to continue on. What an interesting sensation! It wasn’t at all like the kinds of pain when he'd gotten in fights with bigger creatures or the kind of pain from when he got bored and started breaking his own bones for amusement. This was a kind of dull pain that seemed like it would probably get more and more noticeable as time went on. Of course, there was the possibility of getting stuck, and that would probably be really boring until he lost enough weight to squeeze back out, but there was no adventure without risk, right?
"The tunnel speaks the song of the serpent." Yuma worded absentmindedly at the sizzling. This pain of discomfort was now being accented by a small difficulty in breathing as the stale hot air burned away at his lungs. What was that thing in here, and what did it have to do with the creation of such an odd atmosphere? "The tunnel writhes away from our attempts to rip open its secrets, but such efforts will end in failure."
As much an attempt at poetics for his own amusement as a message to relay his experiences to the cat outside. Even if Yuma probably was not skilled yet at simile and wordplay it was interesting to try now that he had an audience.

."Sssong of the serpent?" A hissing voice cut in
Septiezal slithered towards the pair of gembounds, the soft glow of the fungi illuminated his flickering, ember eyes. The Bonebound was it again, or was it Marrowbound? The damn bone cuddlers were always changing their name. Regardless, he could care less what the resident Canis creeps did with their time, but he could not help but to over hear, and now curiosity tugged at his thoughts.
"I hope that remark wasn't meant to be an insssult." Septiezal said to voice in the strange hole. He slid his long body over the trail, feeling the texture underneath his belly. "Wha-? Strange." He noted. It was like a large snake slithered through here, but in an erratic line. That was impossible. He turned to the feline. "How long had this been here?" It couldn't have been long, this wasn't always here. Or had he missed something?
Septiezal cautiously poked his head into the crack. Immediately, the aye-aye's body heat and scent hit him, but he was more focused on something else. His forked tongue flicked in and out, gathering scent particles from his surroundings. Perhaps it could tell him something on what caused this anomaly.

From out of one ragged corner of the dark hole came an odd substance. It was very dark - not quite black, but not quite anything else either - and it seemed to slide towards Septiezal first. A small pebble-like object caught in its track and was lifted up, then held prone before the serpent, before turning as if to look at Yuma and the cat.
