Midas' breaths now came in ragged little sobs, and he curled up into a tight little lump of snake. Ky would lean down and try to soothe him, but it was almost futile. He was just... so sad, so ashamed. He, a Gembound, had just killed another. "I-I know Kyky. I s-should have known better, though..." He just wanted to fade away from the world. Magicka bubbling up through the snake's body and cloaked every one of his scales in shadows and darkness, leaving only lime green eyes and a shimmering gilded crown visible. Giving one small peep, the snake kept himself coiled up. Maybe if he tried hard enough, he could just wake up and realize this just was a bad dream... a nightmare.

Unaware of Bevy's plight since the lioness had her back turned she gave her full attention to the snake. She tried to soften her gaze and edge a little closer to the bush. "You are young... you didn't but you will next time." A learning experience. That's what he could use this for. She just wished he didn't have to learn under such terrible circumstances and that someone else hadn't had to pay their life for his lesson. "Things happen..." She said again hoping her words would make him feel better. Perhaps he needed time to himself.... alone time did wonders for a person's soul sometimes. Why else would he cloak himself in darkness? She'd let him alone to gather his thoughts.

The lioness' head turned and they met with Bevy, nuzzling into the monkey's fur. To have had an enemy so suddenly be torn from the world. How was she feeling? Was she happy that the monkey could no longer bother her? Or upset that someone, anyone, had been killed? Was it a strange mixture of the two? Makyna walked over to her and crouched down beside the bird. "Bevy... how are you?" From the looks of it quite upset that her enemy was dead but it was good to ask anyway.

For a long moment, things were still in Pisces. Sure, the waterfall kept roaring in the background, constantly churning water bubbling away, but the cave felt paralyzed.

Bevy had never pressed into another's fur before. Never. She perched on Cancer's horns, touched her beak to others, but never ran her feathers against fur. It was growing cold against her down. She could have saved him, she thought, there was something she should have done.

A soft voice caught her attention and the young bird looked at the lioness for a moment, pulling her red and black body -- warning signs, danger, do not touch-- from the cooling corpse. She met Makyna's eyes, wondering just what she could say.

"He was a bad gembound," she peeped, weakly. "But he was just a baby, he... He could have learned. He could have..." No one deserved to die. Bevy never wanted to see another gembound die. No more suffering. She couldn't handle it. It was just so horrible.

"I... Wish I could bring him back."

It was then that Bevy's eyes caught the glisten of the water-blue, copper tinged gem that had belonged to Teyouma. She stepped over to it, wrapped her talons around the gem. She remembered his pulsing, color-filled chest, the way his see-through skin had shown his gem beneath the surface, by his heart. It was beautiful. He was beautiful. In a strange, disturbing way, he was full of Life just like them all.

Maybe some day she would figure out a way to bring him back. She clutched his gem and looked back up at Makyna, trying to stay strong for her friends. She wanted more than anything to fly home to her nook, curl up and sleep forever.
