Albeon was very distracted as to how much closer the Spider had gotten as he felt confident that Spell he used would buy a lot of time. Albeon temporarily forgotten just how fast the damn thing is and being in the air means he doesn't feel the small earthquakes it's causing with each step. Albeon was currently more concerned about the Gembound that could potentially get harmed from that boulder the corvid swapped with the Spider even if he did give them a heads up about it. He can't do anything about the ones that were around the entrance where the colossal being got forcibly warped there by him; he won't have much time to check on those ones by the opening of Polaris. So, he chose to inspect around the boulder in hopes that no Gembound got crushed, or possibly stuck under and need his help. Although from the looks of it, while there were some that were pushed back by the shockwave when it crashed down onto the ground none seem to be stuck under it nor were killed by it which brings great relief for him.

He was about to go and inspect the ones who were harmed somewhat from that boulder, but he didn't have the chance as to his horror the Spider was soon charging even close to the Spire and Albeon himself than ever before that he just can't ignore it. One part of him wants to fight back still, but even so, what that feline said has rendered Albeon into a dilemma; he doesn't want to kill, but he wishes to be a worthwhile Gembound for the Caves and not some wasted Gem who brings nothing good by helping out here. A-After all, he doesn't need to kill it, and they don't know if this thing is malicious for all they all know what it'll do to the Spire might be beneficial! Albeon keeps on trying to justify why he could stop trying to attack it as he closed his eyes tightly feeling the urge to grab his feathers with his wings and tear them out of his head.

What the hell should he do?! What does it want?! Will it be right just to let it reach The Spire?!

As this internal conflict keeps on going in his thoughts, his Gem begun to flare with a violet aura around it, his Magick was gifted such an overwhelming force from such a whirlwind of emotion Albeon's and his morals are having right now. Thankfully since he has no desire to fight and just wishes for answers, the Magick granted him something else in the form of visions.

With his eyes shut he could see many images, lots, however, show the Spider, himself and the other Gembounds and the Spire itself and soon the haze in these visions started to defog as the potential answers he wishes to know maybe now granted to him. Albeon doesn't know how he's seeing this, but he makes sure to keep his eyes shut he wants to see what this all means.

Amras continued to stand amidst an endless void, looking in confusion as the fog and alight and trying to decipher some meaning from the whispers. On some instinctive level he knew that this was a place of dreams, a place that existed but never on a conscious level. He knew that he was in danger with his actual body crumpled on the floor no doubt. Still it felt like there was something here that he needed to see. Something so important that the magic that he had tapped into had felt it was worth risking death just to drag him in here.

Arcane... the element of the mind. He could feel the essence of that magic gather around his formless point of perspective and coalesce into to tangible shape. Its color was just as his crystal had given off- a brilliant purple. Its shape twisted and stretched and condensed until it was as a simplified eye staring right back at him.

Child of magic, born of wind

The wordless voice sang loudly within all corners of the gryphon's mental space as more aspects of magic came into existence. Eleven more colors, eleven more shapes, each element's avatar holding its own depth and personality. The arcane eye of the mind drifted back as the symbols began to swirl around him.

Raised in darkness and...

A great tremor shook the very foundations of the world he was resting in. Like a blade of light, a foreign source of magic cut into the space and destabilized the spell that his unconscious mind was so carefully keeping in place. The symbols vanished, the fog vanished, the voices quieted and sensations of his physical form flooded the gryphon's consciousness once again.

He opened his eyes, taking a deep breath as life flooded back into him. Too soon! There was something there, something critically important!

A crater was carved into the ground near where his head had lain, the magic blood of the spider evaporating from within. Priorities! He could try to find that place once more another time, could lay out the symbols and decipher their deeper meaning. He had to; it seemed like the most important thing in the world right now.

Right behind stopping this spider from destroying their focal point of magic! Already it had made massive progress back to the core, soon it would reach it and even if it was bleeding out it might be able to heal itself if it consumed the structure, undoing all their progress and setting a timer on their very lives.

Amras forced his numbed limbs back into action and flipped over, clawing the ground with fervor as he charged forward to catch up and make one last attempt at saving them all.

Aries' hooves scrapped across the crystal spider's back as he skidded across its back. Its faceted surface was slick, but the ram managed to maintain his balance and seize purchase. The landing could have been smoother, but atleast he made it. He took a moment to breathe, and smiled as relief rolled over him.

But it did not last.

The eight-legged golem started to shake as if it knew he had invaded it. Aries' world began to quake violently. It ripped away his balance and he was thrown to the side. He let out a startled bleat as panic struck him. Like a hapless pebble, Aries tumbled across the golem's back and towards the edge.

I'm going to fall off!

He flailed, desperately clambering for the crystal hide. In the nick of time, his hooves caught grooves and he clung on for dear life, seeing that he was only one tumble away from falling. Aries heaved, feeling his heart beat against his chest.

Too close...

A fall from this height would surely break bones, maybe even kill. He got lucky, and though he was grateful, that unnerved him. He could rely on skill, but luck.. that was fleeting.

Aries turned his attention away from the heights and clinched his teeth, hauling himself back up the giant golem, still determined to save the Spire, no matter the cost.

It took Kin-Kin a few long moments for Kin-Kin to regain herself, breathing deep breaths as her heart rate slowly calmed. She staggered to her feet, the cut on her belly slowly oozing blood into her golden fur, and shook herself, wincing as the wound stung. A long look around told her that no-one seemed to have noticed; so as long as the she-wolf could still redeem herself, she thought it would all be worth it. Still, it might be better not to try her luck with such complex spells in this situation, however powerful she may be. Instead the wolf took a deep breath, and extended her right foreleg in order to draw her sword from its sheathe. then she followed the others, bounding quickly after the crippled magicka spider.

After some time she caught up, just as her jaw was beginning to ache, and she lunged at the spider, trying her hardest to plunge the sharp crystal into one of its remaining limbs as they dragged frantically. Perhaps it could widen a crack, or cause something to shatter. Even so, the impact jarred her already-aching jaw.

Not knowing what else he could possibly do (and glad that the cat seemed to have left him alone for now, Tuck simply tried the same spell he’d been using over and over again. He’d never known his Plant Magic to be so useless before, but at least he could do something, even if it wasn’t much and didn’t seem to want to work with him today. Feeling fairly exhausted and wondering if all this was going to be worth it in the end, he attempted to summon his Magic once more, the thorns fading from his body as he called upon a different spell… Time to summon some roots again!

The last thing Xireidi had seen was the spider about to reach the spire. Their last hope was gone. Then in an instant the spider disappeared and was replaced by a crashing rock, the rumble of which tremored through his already weakened body. He wanted to jump up and dash back there, take advantage of the miracle that had happened.

His body... just wasn't up to the task. After giving his all in those last few attacks, pushing through the dizziness and confusion of being hit by that goop, being exposed to a sickening beam, there wasn't much more the red wolf could give.

He could, however, stand and walk to the side of the pathway, wait for the spider to pass again. Perhaps then he'd have the strength to launch one more assault on the invader. If he tried to chase them down now he'd only be hamstringing his one chance to possibly affect the outcome by sapping his remaining reserves.

Just a little closer and the spider would be in range again.

It was nearly there now, spilling the last of its cache with each limp and stumble, but the pest on its back would not matter then if it could each its goal. Just as it felt itself making the home stretch and thinking the Gembounds having left it be, a piercing cold struck one of its back legs; the shrill and aching sound of shattering crystal broke sharply into the air, the spider crashing awkwardly backward at the loss of support from one of its main structures. It struggled and gouged at the dirt to raise itself upright, pulling itself forward with a lurch and a groan. It would not be defeat so close to its deposit. It moved with a heavy lean to one side now, rolling like something buffeted against waves on top of stormy waters.

Albeon sees mixed images: blue lights, like small sparkling bugs, floating up toward the ceiling from the Spire—there is a feeling of resolution; and the shattered body of crystal, spilling magicka, the distant figure of a stag watching them in the distance, its ruby glowing strongly on its forehead before the image fades.

By the time Aries hoisted climbed back up to the top, Kin-Kin's spell had shattered its leg, throwing the golem off balance. Aries quickly dug his hooves into visible grooves and flattened himself against its back in an attempt to stabilize himself. What ever this crystal spider endured, he was along for the ride, all he had to do was hang on. Carefully he dragged himself towards the center, where it the creature swayed less--or at least felt like it.

Aries took a moment to catch his breath. He was beginning to feel the weight in his tired muscles. The ram knew he was coming to end of his strength, and it seemed like the golem was too. It would be over soon, no matter the outcome. With the spider hobbling towards the Spire faster than he'd like, despite the shattered leg, he planted his hooves firmly into its shell and summoned all his willpower.

His gem blazed hot with magick, turning his horns and hooves a bright, fiery red and orange with blistering heat. The smell of burning keratin erupted from around him and the soles of his feet began to sting. There a was sizzling sound, though Aries could not tell if it was him or the crystal giant.

Images came to Albeon, so many and they were all so damn quick he can hardly make out a lot of them. There was one where The Spire shone with such brightness, relatively intact physical wise. Next was a vision displaying a large crystallised body, completely lifeless, alien blood oozing out it; this must be the spider if he and fellow Gembound succeed in killing it. But what was next got Albeon's attention a face he has never met before filling his visions observing the corpse. Who is it? Albeon tries his best to focus his mind on this figure, to perhaps find something such as their expression as to give him a clue what will be the best course of action. What is their facial expression; are they proud, disappointed? Do they even have good intentions?

...Wait-! No no no! Damnit no!

Panic rose as his vision with the stag Gembound disappears from his head, he had yet to decipher things such as their expression or why they were there, and soon it was all gone; his questions left unanswered and so he still left in the dark as to what he should do.

He was so sure this would give him hope for answers, and he ruined it for not paying attention or keeping a good grip on this out-of-nowhere Spell, damn. His eyes opened again, back to reality and the spider was nearly right in front of Albeon, still struggling to maintain its balance but it was so close to The Spire again, and it refused to relent on reaching it.

It was honestly too risky to allow it to reach The Spire, it The Spire fine previously, so it was less hazardous to make sure it never gets to it. Albeon channelled his Magick again in his hopes to do anything to stop it.

Magick was crackling quite a bit around his form, his Gem glowing a faint colour once again and he set all his mind towards mentally attempting to push this spider back as far as possible with his Spell.

With only seconds to spare the blue gryphon managed to catch up to the spider, sprinting along the ground at full speed. He was going much too fast to concentrate well on magic in his right talon as he usually did, but with his unnaturally light weight he knew that tackling would probably have no effect. His head was still spinning from adrenaline and the magic in the air and the effects of having just recovered from some kind of strange arcane coma, but he had just enough focus to try one more last-ditch attempt at slowing the creature down.

The gryphon cried a primal screech as he launched himself into the air with wings still folded, aiming toward one of the spider's back legs. As soon as all limbs were off the ground he placed his talons together, shrouding himself in record time with nearly invisible white energy in preparation for the attack. It wasn't particularly strong, and probably was weaker in some directions than others, but it would have to do for now. Just as he was about to collide with the racing beast Amras separated his hands from each other and broke open the ties that held his spell together. Pure kenetic energy rushed out from him as his arms and wings spread wide, kicking dust up everywhere and hopefully hitting a wide area of the spider as he arced upwards and slowed to a stop, out of the way in case the combined attacks actually managed to take the creature down for good.
