"Wait! I just wanna play!" a young, male child's voice echoed through the tunnel, tiny paws thudding as he ran. A hare dashed before him, panicked, running with all it had. The cub was giving it all he had, little body stretched out and stomach low to the ground.


Suddenly, the rabbit made a sharp right turn, and the cub followed, dashing through a side tunnel. He was new to Polaris, having only recently hatched, and had only started exploring recently. The black puma had been afraid when he'd gotten lost, but distracted himself with chasing a rabbit he'd scared up.


Suddenly, the tunnel seemed to widen, into a rather large room. He giggled, racing forward to try and catch up to the rabbit, only to blink, surprised, as it suddenly vanished from sight. The cub squeaked, digging in his claws, barely coming to a stop in front of a sharp cliff. He padded to the edge, peering over it to see the rabbit, little more than a smear now.


The cub looked around, jaw dropping. The room was... beautiful, with a tall tower with crystals, and a throne, and some sort of building. Lights sparkled everywhere, like nothing he'd seen before! His golden eyes widened, and he gasped, "Wow!"

Aeroth padded along the tunnel, looking side to side as she followed the tracks of the young one she had seen chasing the hare, running up to them and grabbing them by the scruff of their neck as they saw them at the edge of the cliff, carrying them back to the very mouth of the tunnel. "Oi ya Kitlin that ain't safe! Ya shouldn't get that close to the edges, they can break off!" She fretted over him for a moment after setting him down, making sure he was ok. "Ay at least you're safe though," she sighed, "Now what's your name lil' bab? You can call me Aeroth."

Playtime Sebastian tagged

The little cub gaped, staring out over the edge of the cliff. This place was... amazing! It was unlike anything he'd ever seen before; of course, there was a lot he hadn't seen yet. He was only two cycles old. But the sight of the lights twinkling, and the gems glowing, was breathtaking.


Sebastian squeaked as he suddenly found his paws leaving the ground, something warm grabbing him by the scruff of his neck. Instinctively, he went limp, whining pitifully. What was going on?


And then he was set down, and he turned around to face... why, another big cat! What were the odds? First Rift, and then this one! Aside from the rabbit, which he hadn't truly 'met, all he'd met were big cats! She even had tawny fur like Rift had had!


Her voice was really weird, with words he'd never heard before. Oi? Kitlin? Ay? Bab? What was she on about? He realized he could see something blue glistening in her mouth every time she opened her mouth to speak. But he could get the gist. "I'm sorry." he flattened his ears, abashed. They'd felt perfectly solid under his paws, but considering the way she was fussing over him, evidentally they weren't.


'Aeroth?' he thought. 'What a funny name!' But, he knew his manners, and didn't voice it. "I'm Sebastian!" Then, he paused. "I just wanted to see the lights."

Aeroth groomed his fur a bit as she spoke, "It's ok bab, Sebastian eh? It fits you. I can take you to a better place to see the lights if you want, it's too dangerous on these cliff edges, the rock could break away and a lil' kitlin like you wouldn't even make it to the ground." She spoke softly, soothingly as she kneaded through his fur slowly.

The little cub couldn't help but to purr as the adult cat began to lick his fur, leaning into the touch. It felt nice! He didn't know why it felt so good, but it had felt good when Rift did it, and now it felt good when Aeroth did it. He didn't know why, but it was very soothing.


His name fit him? He perked up, purring excitedly. He didn't know why he'd picked the name, it had just come to him, but he was glad it fit him!


His eyes widened, and he looked at her pleadingly. "Will you take me? Pretty please? I really wanna see 'em!"

Aeroth laughed a bit as he looked up to her pleadingly, his eyes melting her instantly before she stood up again, "Well then, get up, I'm gonna take you there." She walked over to the edge, then indicated a trail leading to the side, criss-crossing down to the side of the ledge. "Stay close to the wall, don't look down." She said as she walked around the corner, she'd go slowly so the little creature could keep up with her.

The cub beamed as the elder agreed to take him to see the stars, leaping to oversized paws that, one day, he would hopefully grow into. "Let's go!" He cheered excitedly, trailing her. Sebastian bounced from paw to paw impatiently when she stopped at the edge, wanting her to get a move on.

Thankfully, she was quick to gesture towards a trail that looking passable. "Alright!" he was quick to say, following careful in her pawprints.

Aeroth took careful steps until she reached the ground, giving him time to catch up before striding to the base of a tall tower, sitting at the steps patiently for him to get close.

THREAD TITLE Sebastian tagged

The cub followed the elder carefully, making sure to follow in her pawprints. He didn't know how sturdy the trail was but, if it could support her weight, then it would support his. Besides, she was able to figure out where it was safest, it seemed.

He hopped to the ground, panting, but hurried after her, trotting behind the feline. The cub looked around as he did so, eyes wide. This was so cool! He'd never seen anything like it!

Sebastian reached the steps, and sat down next to Aeroth, looking around. "This is so cool!"

Aeroth laughed airily as she saw the little kitten's reaction. "Oh kitlin you haven't seen anything yet, keep following." she said as she started padding up the steps, her footsteps echoing in the darkness as she wound her way up the tower.
