QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.

SPLOTCH
Splotch found she rather liked Rift; like her, he had plenty of energy. He seemed rather hyper and happy, eager to help. She couldn't wait to help, either.
She jumped as Rift, and then Sebastian, leaped to their feet, before hurrying to do the same. She galloped after the two, tongue dangling out of her mouth as she panted.
It wasn't long before Sebastian had burned down a fair amount of the dead plants, and she stepped forward, planting her paw in the ashes. Plants almost immediately began to bloom, spreading out from where her paw touched the soil.
Rift smiled wide as the area of the forest suddenly bloomed with life. He was right, Sebastian would be very helpful to the forest! Fire wasn't all bad, as long as it was used carefully and correctly.
His tail raised with happiness. "That was awesome! You're both going to do great!" It was true, the pup had all the makings of another forest guardian, a protector of the plants, a bringer of life. Perhaps one day, others would as well.
All of a sudden, a yawn burst through his throat and he stretched his jaws wide before clamping them shut. "Perhaps its time we turned in? There's been a lot of excitement today."
Sebastian beamed as Rift praised him (he ignored that the older Puma was also talking to Splotch), sitting down prim and proper, ears perked and tail wrapping around his paws.
"I can't wait!" the cub grinned, a purr rumbling low in his chest. He could feel a warmth in his gem, reaching through his shoulders and seeming to heat his whole body.
Rift's yawn proved to be contagious, and the cub yawned as well. He found himself blinking blearily, suddenly very tired. "Yes please," he agreed with another yawn.
Splotch tilted her head at Rift, baring her own teeth in a smile. She'd done it! She'd done it! She'd helped the plants to grow! But the magic had also made her tired, so she found herself yawning and drooping.
The pup nodded, giving another nod as Rift said it was time to turn in. She followed them back to the cave for a distance, before turning and walking away, heading off.
Rift turned and began to lead the way back to the tree. After a while, he thought he heard something go quiet and looked back. Splotch was gone. For a moment, he stared at where he thought she had been before looking at Sebastian. "Where did she go?"
Well, it didn't matter. He'd hoped that she would help them bring life to the caves, but she couldn't force it. If it wasn't her thing, then he wouldn't give chase. He led the rest of the way back to the tree where he curled on his bed of moss and fell asleep instantly.
Sebastian trailed at Rift's heels, ears drooping and tail down. He was surprisingly tired, as though he had used all of his energy, and so he paid little attention to the Wild Dog pup, gaze locked on the ground.
He only noticed she had gone when Rift asked where she'd went, and the Puma cub looked around, tilting his head. "Dunno," he yawned, shaking his head. Thankfully, it wasn't long before they'd arrived back at the tree, and he curled up against Rift, falling asleep quickly.
