Berry laughed. The lion wanted to no conflict? That was funny. And then the ground began to shake, making Blue a little wobbly, but not for long. As quickly as the weak shaking started, it stopped. The moose giggled, before putting is head down. Oh yes, he'd show Miss Blackberry he could be stong.

Berry let out a battle cry and charged, his hooves pounding loudly against the ground. Adrenaline was beginning to course through his veins, making him run faster. Yes, he would show Miss Blackberry he was worthy.

No sooner had Faelan looked up at the pair, than they were upon him. First, he was taken aback by the goose flying toward him with its wings extended. He stepped back in a stunned stupor and left his front left paw completely open. The avian's sleek head struck so fast it seemed like a blur, one that ended in pain.
The explosion of white-hot, searing pain, which was new for the lion despite his age, blinded him to the charging moose. He could hear the hooves slapping against the floor though. In a panic, he tried wrenching away from the goose while simultaneously reaching for his magic.

Nothingness met his mental grasping, leaving Faelan open to the moose's charge. Thankfully, he'd wrenched far enough so he wasn't hit head-on, but the impact against his shoulder and side threw him down. The wounds seared as if his insides couldn't bear the outside world. He dimly supposed that that was why they were inside him as he struggled to his paws.
When he tried to put weight on his left paw, fire seemed to sear up through his leg. Faelan gasped, and leaned his weight on his right side as he faced off against the pair. The fear they had spoken of earlier had crept into him, and made any thoughts of peace dash to the farthest corners of his mind. He only wanted to survive this encounter now.

Blackberry grinned with pleasure as blood seeped from the wound as she bit into the lion's paw. As Moose charged the beast, she let go and let him fall to the ground with the force. Yes, they were fighting well, a good match. She was right to let the young moose stay by her side. He would be helpful in the coming battles. She wasn't big enough, or strong enough, to knock over enemies like that, but her sidekick certainly was.

As the lion got up, she lifted her wings slightly and hissed at him, a joyous glint in her eye. She then leaped forward, her bad wing flapping wildly, as she aimed to bite down and latch onto his other paw. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to make the short distance with her bad wing and she thumped onto the ground. She hobbled back to her feet, but wasn't quick enough to make another attack.

Berry grinned cruelly as he knocked over the lion. "Told you we'd beat you down." He grumbled victoriously, before backing away from the lion. He looked over at Blackberry momentarily as she attempted to get up, but stumbled. Mistakes happened, and he was one to not judge.

Turning his attention back to the task at hand, Berry charged forward once more, kicking out at the lion with a roar of sorts.

Faelan's bright gold eyes narrowed at Blackberry as she leaped into the air again. He tensed as her wings flapped erratically, carrying her toward him, but not all the way like they had last time. The goose thumped down harmlessly a tail length or so in front of him, but she didn't stop moving for a second. He braced as she waddled closer, before a bellow caught his attention.

The younger Gembound charged right at him, despite the relatively short distance between them. Faelan didn't think bracing would work for this, so he sidestepped just in time for the moose's kick to sail over his back instead of into it.
While the moose was so close, Faelan struck out as quick as he could with his large, front right paw. His deep blue stone glistened in the faint light of the glistening quartz above as his paw made contact.

When the lion was distracted with Moose, Blackberry sprinted forward, her head bowed and her beak open as she honked loudly at the beast. However, her foot got caught in a rock and she was flung forward, screaming with surprise. Her head smashed into a rock and a flash of light went through her head. She tumbled forward, right under the lion's paws.

A small oof came from the moose as he was smacked away from the lion. That was a strong beast. Blue shook his head as he glared, this time determined to do something.

Suddenly, he got an idea. What is he got poison plants in the lion's mouth? Grinning to himself, the moose focused on his gem and willed something poisonous to grow. Soon enough, little greenish blue sprouts came up, and the moose grinned from ear to ear.

Faelan was so preoccupied with trying to land the hit on the moose, that he forgot to pay attention to Blackberry. Thankfully, fate seemed to be on his side, because she miraculously tumbled into his paws just as Blueberry was shaking off the hit. Since his feathered opponent was literally within his grasp, he focused on her for the moment.

The lion glared down at Blackberry for a minute, a deep growl rumbling in his broad chest. Why did they have to do this, he wondered. If they hadn't started this, then...he wouldn't have to do this. Faelan parted his jaws and aimed to bite the base of Blackberry's throat.

Blackberry was prepared for it. She saw it coming as if in slow motion. The lion's jaws opening and coming down upon her. But in the last second, something snapped back in her mind and she barely moved her head fast enough to avoid his incoming attack. She only had a second to react before the lion would have a chance to attack again. But, of course, her first instinct was to strike right back.

She lunged forward with her beak open, intending on grabbing onto his ear with all of her strength.

Blue watched in horror as the lion tried to kill his Blackberry. Everything was in slow motion, right up until Blackberry move. How dare he?! How DARE that lion try to magle HIS Blackberry?! Letting out a low rumble, Blueberry lowered his head and scooped the poison plants into his small antlers.

Charging forward, Blue moved forward to gor the lion. He would poison that unruly beast. Oh yes, he would pay.
