The Fossa bristled, although he still listened to what the bat had to say. How could there be multiple Gembounds in one body? Much less ones with the names Caliante, Rusty, Salvation, and Crack? How could he trust what the bat was saying? But he couldn't deny that there was honesty in their voice. "Is Crack always like that? How often does it have control?" He began to calm down, the fur that had previously risen drooping to lay flat against his skin.

Mongo groaned quietly, sitting down to speak to the bat. He was still very young, and didn't know much of anything, especially how to take care of his wounds. "I'd appreciate if you could help treat my wounds."

Caliante flattened her eyes and looked away guiltily. "Y-yeah, unfortunately it is. It doesn't usually take control and its never done anything like that before. But its hard to take back control once it has it. Its...not fun..." She shuddered at the helplessness that always overcame her when Crack took over. No matter what she did, or Salvation and Rusty either, they could never wrench control back until his strength was wasting away.

What if there came a day where it would be strong enough to take control and never give it back? Would they be prisoners in its body? Would it be able to destroy them? Would they have to watch it kill someone?

She tried not to think about this as she thought about the task at hand. There was moss everywhere. They were in Eridanus, after all, but she needed to find some that was nice and wet to help cool his burns. She didn't know much about healing, but she guessed that it would help. Cold water sounded like it would feel nice against burned skin.

She fluttered away from him and found a sheltered, dark area were the moss was damp and cool. She scraped it away with the claws on her wing and transferred it to her mouth, carrying it back to the creature.

"Here, maybe this will help cool the burns." Not really sure how to do it, she stepped up next to him and reached up with the moss still in her mouth, intending on pressing it into the blisters.

Mongo groaned quietly, frowning as Caliante confirmed that the monstrous one out of all the personalities kept a tight grip when it took control. However, that pulled on his burned skin, and he flinched, wincing in pain. Ouch, that had hurt. But, he had to admit, he'd only had one experience with 'Crack'. This 'Caliante' had to live with it. "I can see that."

As the bat turned to look for moss, the Gemling allowed himself to act young for once, bringing up a paw to cover his muzzle. Oh, that hurt, that hurt a lot. He wanted to be back in his Chrysalis, back in safety, back with Vinnie looking over him. The Fossa wondered what 'Caliante' was going to do, what she would bring. He didn't really know what to do to take care of his own wounds, after all.

Soon, the bat returned, carrying moss in her mouth. "Alright," he sighed, leaning forward to allow the bat to press the moss to his face.

At his allowance, Caliante pressed the wet, cool moss against the burns she had seen her body inflict not mere moments ago. She had never been behind Rusty's magic and she was thankful that she never would be. However, it was hard to watch her body hurt others against her will. Or, was it her body? Or was it Crack's? Or Rusty's? Or Salvation's? No, she had seen them. Their real forms. Or, at least, what their minds thought their real forms were. She was still a bat while the other two were different. But Crack, she had never seen what it looked like. Only purple eyes glaring from the darkness. She shuddered at the thought of what it could possibly be.

She pulled herself back to reality as the silence stretched on. She had to say something. She couldn't bear the awkwardness much longer. "So, what's your name? And, if you don't mind me asking, what are you? I've never really seen anything like you before."

He kind of looks like me. Salvation's voice came quietly, hesitant, as if he shouldn't be speaking now.

Not really. It was strange to hear Rusty so uncertain. It was as if he was trying to act like everything was fine, but it really wasn't. Caliante sighed. Why did this have to happen?

Mongo flinched as the bat - what had they said their name was? Caliente? - pressed the moss in their mouth against the burns. For a moment, it stung with pain, but soon the cool wetness of the moss proved to be soothing, helping to numb the throbbing pains. He'd have to stick around the moss room for a while, he decided, so he would have a steady supply of the stuff.

He allowed himself to relax, the stiffness and rigidity seeming to leave him as the pain slipped away. The Gembound's ears twitched as... she?... spoke, asking his name and what he was. His name was easy enough, of course he knew that. "I'm Mongo." However, he had to think on what he was, as he didn't really know. A word began to pulse in the back of his mind, and finally he said, "I'm a... a Fossa?" Yes, a Fossa, that sounded right. "Yes, a Fossa."

Caliante continued to press moss against his face and she nodded. "It's, uh, really nice to meet you, Mongo. And I can't...can't keep telling you how sorry I am..." She fell away into an awkward, confused silence, unable to really say much else. She didn't know what the heck to say anyways, especially to this thing she had just been ferociously attacking.

"Well, u-um, is there anything else I can do for you? For whatever wounds Crack gave you? I'd like to try and make up for it somehow."

"Caliante." "Salvation." "Rusty." "Crack."
