She has been hiding for quite a few days now, content to remain safely hidden in her den where no one can find her. But still, she’ll need to go out sometime soon; even if she isn’t hungry, currently Pippy does wish to improve on her skills to help herself when she is outside her home, skills such as flying maybe. Slowly she gets up and carefully peeks her head out her den's exit to detect any sounds or motions indicating there’s somebody close; leaning out a little more she turns her head left, and right and she confirms there’s no one else around currently, nothing but a peaceful atmosphere out there. It was like everyone else who is out there is sleeping right now, except for well, Pippy herself, which brought her great relief, the coast is clear, it’ll be safe to give things a shot and at least step out her home into this big deep world. Even if everything including inanimate objects were so much bigger than her, it is awful intimidating for her in truth but; Pippy is determined to try and learn how to fly successfully today!

With this firm resolve burning Pippy finally takes one step out her home. Initially, she only brings one wing out, moving it slowly, shutting her eyes when it makes contact with solid ground shivering a little like there was an invisible pool with ice-cold water, soon after she brings her other wing out and she was out. With being outside already, Pippy was tempted to leap back inside her home where she’ll be safe; after all what if a giant Gembound encounters her? They have been incredibly kind and sweet to her so far, especially many bigger ones who managed to find her and only wanted to be friends with her but she doesn’t want to risk anything which will overwhelm her, but she manages to stand firm and walk further away from her home’s entrance.

Now out in the open where there’s so much open space, it was scary how much space there is, but this much space means there’ll be plenty room for her to fly around which will help in her learning how to. For an excellent handicap she climbs on a building structure which is exclusive to Orion, took some time, but when she reached the top she could analyse with her current judgement; this current altitude from the ground will be a high vantage point for flying.

Stepping close to building’s edge and bowed down, air swishing against her coat, Pippy relaxes her muscles a little to get ready, letting out a deep breath to keep herself calm. Pippy in an instant leapt off this building, spreading her wings out as she plummeted, only empty air is safely carrying her as gravity drags her. But she has forgotten something she needs to do to fly genuinely; flap her wings, and fear took her when the tiny bat fell from the edge and so she had her eyes shut, no clue how things may not end well.

And disaster did come as her tiny body was slammed to a stop as she crashed landed on solid ground, pain now searing through her whole small form. More disaster came as her body rolled down a slight incline with her agony rendering unable to fight it tumbling straight into some cold water going quite a bit across it like she was a skipping stone in said water. Pippy managed to drag her small form a little, so she was on land again, but it took some effort as she was hurting all over, her whole body clenched as some attempt to ease her pain, cold water clinging to her coat wasn’t helping either. She remains put and refuses to move, letting out many whimpers and desperately trying her best not to cry loudly.

@Kielo

Kielo was grazing on a small patch of moss, content in the knowledge that Winter wouldn't be far away, when a sound reached their sensitive ears- a small and somewhat distant splash, followed some time after by the whimpering of a tiny voice.

Heart jolting, Kielo's ears pricked and they padded after the sound, ears straining to pinpont the exact location, as they clambered clumsily over piles of debris and ruined walls. Whoever it was sounded in pain, and they hoped that they could help somehow. As the sound grew nearer, Kielo picked up the pace, but it soon struck them that the sound didn't seem to be coming from very far away, it was just that the source seemed to be very, very small...

"Hello! is there anyone there?" they called as they drew nearer.

Kielo was almost on top of the sound, and they sniffed the air, a hint of a warm scent reaching their nostrils. they had to be close. perhaps they were even stood right over the tiny bat. nose twitching, Kielo lowered their nose to the ground and sniffed, trying to narrow down the location by scent. "There's no need to be scared. Are you hurt?"

Pippy was trying so hard not to cry nor let her whimpers get too loud, but it was so challenging to do, she was in such agony she can’t help but let out some sobs and whimpers both loud enough for a giant Gembound to possibly detect her. She even tried to stifle them with biting her tongue a little; she also attempted to bury her face into her wings, which took some effort as got wounded so much by her fall it wouldn’t be surprising if a bone broke, so they actively resisted any movements forced upon them by Pippy. Still, the tiny bat managed to do it, although during her trying to shift her wings to muffle her cries the little bat was already crying. Her crying was quite loud as well, so someone ears have most likely caught her wails and whimpers even if she has managed to clench her face with her wings and quiet them now, but she can only hope no one will find her.

But to her horror her ears caught what sounded like footsteps from behind and getting closer, making Pippy’s little heart thunder, although occasionally these footsteps no longer had a rhythm and said steps for a brief moment had an inconsistent rhythm like whoever they belonged to were lost or something. Even so, it didn’t make Pippy’s rapidly beating heart calm itself, especially since with how each footstep seemed to cause a mini earthquake under Pippy if anything those made her fear soar as she shakes like a leaf. Desperately trying to keep quiet which was a struggle as with how much pain she is in alongside with how scared she was her sobs still escaped from her lungs. Soon there was no inconsistency in its rhythm and got faster, and a large shadow appeared and loomed over her and her surroundings with a dreadful sensation something might be staring down at her.

Pippy let out a gasp and flinched when a voice called out and sounded it came from something towering right above her, she dared not move her head up, or she may make eye contact with whoever it is. She tries to scoot away from them, but each time she wanted to move she squeaked out in pain everything was hurting it was like Pippy was attempting to climb a slippery mountain; still slippery mountain it maybe she’s not going let this most likely giant Gembound harm her even further.

Pippy ears caught sounds indicating whoever this giant Gembound was they had laid themselves down to find her unless they already spotted her and lowered themselves to inspect her further which made her finally dare to turn her head and give a small glance. Her vision got filled with what seems to be a Gembound utterly towering over her, instantly regretting this she snapped her head away from this menacing sight and tried her best to scoot away.

They’re so huge!

“Meep…!” Pippy squeaked again in her fear from such a scary sight and from her pain with moving her still in pain head so quickly she was so tempted to cry for real now as she trembled more and covered her eyes in her scared child-like hopes it’ll go away if she keeps her eyes hidden. It doesn’t matter how much she is in pain to her now; she needs to run! Run run run!

"N-No! G-Go a-away…” tears welling in her eyes now, “P-Please d-d-don't hurt me, Mr. Giant Gembound." She tries to beg although if they did want to hurt her this begging might not help, so she continued trying to get away, managing some distance, each movement she made felt like torture making her crying worse as her dam broke at last.

It seemed that the little gem couldn't hear them over the sound of her own sobbing. Kielo's eyes widened, feathers fluffing out in guilt, but they could do nothing else but keep trying. Reaching out as they heard the little one shuffling around despite their own soft sounds of pain, Kielotried to block their escape with a pink avian paw. They couldn't leave! Not when they were hurting like this! They needed to rest! Kielo wouldn't let them.

Kielo felt their words sting, guilt at having caused such distress in the little one causing tears to well up in their eyes. But they couldn't do anything about that. the little one was frightened and confused. They just needed some guidance. Kielo sniffed back the tears. "H-hang on, don't be scared! D-don't worry! I only eat plants!" they stuttered. "And look, see, even if I w-wanted to, I'm blind! I wouldn't even be able to find you! See?"

Kielo felt terrible for lying, as, strictly speaking, they could always use scent or the sounds of their sobbing. But maybe it would help her knowing that she had one advantage over them? Kielo clung to the chance and waved a paw in front of their own vacant gaze.

"Please, just slow down," they said after, as gently, but firmly as they could. "You're hurt! You'll only hurt yourself more if you move around!"

They heaved a sigh, fluttering their wings to try and cool their nerves.

"I'm here to help, okay?"

Pippy keeps trying to make her escape from this scary giant Gembound, not wanting to pay attention to its words either. Be challenging for Pippy to perceive their words anyway with besides her crying her pounding heart is also pulsing through her ears which is drowning out any other sounds besides it, so Pippy has no idea what they said to her; it might be better how she couldn't perceive their words.

Pippy was still limping to try and get away until a great paw appeared before her and barricaded her escape, their sharp talons curled around her small form, a yelp filled with so much fright escaped her; trapped! Pippy’s fear climbs even further; it has rocketed into orbit at this point she keeps on turning her head to keep an eye on their paw which has her captured, wincing in pain each time and having to move it back quickly. One twitch this paw makes could severely wound her even more, her whole life depends on any movement this paw does, and it is terrifying. She watches it with wary and frightened eyes perhaps also find a chance she can make her getaway again, but her neck was hurting so much. And she wanted to go back to covering her eyes in hopes it’ll make this whole thing be only a bad dream when she opens them again, but she musters some bravery not to take her eyes off this great paw.

She listens to their words this time, and they did sound kind, but Pippy isn’t sure she can take their word for it her instincts which come with being wounded has made her a lot more distrusting than usual. Not to add how they have her like a cornered mouse with their giant paw which is what is terrifying to Pippy especially with how up-close it is this way. While them saying they only eat plants is a little relieving to Pippy it doesn’t make her less scared as there are many other different ways and reasons how and why a giant Gembound may want to bring her harm.

W-What is ‘blind’? Pippy hasn’t got the slightest idea what they could mean there, cocking her head in her confusion not too much though as it could make her pain sear again. Even this subtle tilt is causing a tugging pain which makes her stop it in a few seconds, more confused when they waved their other paw over their face.

“I-I d-d-don’t u-u-understand…” she indeed doesn’t. “W-W-Wh-What do-does ‘b-b-blind’ m-m-mean?” does it mean they are sick? Are they alright?

Pippy didn’t comply to when they told her to slow down in fact when Pippy believe she found an opening to escape she immediately gave an attempt at bolting again only for her pain to rise even higher and make her collapse within seconds from doing so unable to take any more. She’s going to possibly anger them now which makes her dare not move her head as she trembles.

“P-P-Ple-Please… L-L-Le-Let m-m-me g-go…” Currently begging is all she can do now in her vulnerable state, still not willing to trust them yet, especially with how they tried to stop her from getting away with their giant paw.


@Kielo

The little bat appeared to relax a little bit, but not enough to ease kielo's nerves. She was still freaking out, a lot, and Kielo hoped that they'd be able to calm her down fully. Their little voice reached their ears. Questioning what blind meant, and the hybrid faltered slightly with surprise. They'd never had to explain it before! They had to remind themselves then that many gembounds hadn't met someone who was blind before. But they weren't torn up about it, exactly. It was a good thing, perhaps, that they could teach her.

"It means I can't see," they said gently, lowering their head towards the ground so that it might be more possible for the small one to see their eyes, empty and glazed, but beautiful nontheless. "So there's nothing for you to worry about."

No sooner had Kielo answered their question that the little one began to beg to be let go. They frowned, shuffling their paws further apart to leave an opening. What were they so afraid of? The hybrid remained quiet though. "I just don't want you to hurt yourself anymore," they said, lowering their ears. Clearly, this wasn't working. maybe it would be better if they just let her go. perhaps fear was causing her to hurt herself even more. "But if you do... please, take it easy, okay?"

Pippy may have eased to some extent but she was still very much afraid, she won’t positively calm down until this giant Gembound’s great clawed paws no longer have her captured, or perhaps weren’t so terrifyingly close to her at least. Pippy’s nervous and unease rose again when her question about what ‘blind’ means, for it seemed to make this Gembound expression change to a dumbstruck one towards her as she asked them it; oh no… Did she offend them by asking them? A-Are they upset at her?

“S-S-Sorry… Mr Giant Gembound, w-w-was w-w-what I asked b-bad? D-Did I-I up-upset you? Sorry, I didn’t mean to…” Pippy shrank in on herself as her words melted into barely audible whispers except for when she apologised to this giant Gembound.

From her question answered by them, Pippy lifted her head a little with her dumbstruck expression at them, wincing as she does forgetting how even moving even a bit will cause her injuries to act up. Can’t ‘see’? Have they never been able to? Also when they were young? Guilt rose in Pippy more, how could she ask them something in such an insensitive manner? The tiny bat got a little startled when the giant Gembound lowered and brought their face closer to her it was a little too close for her comfort, but her emotions were soon replaced with curiosity as she inspected their eyes which did appear unusual as for one how glass-like they appear.

“Oh… O-OK then Mr Giant Gembound…” becoming a little more understanding now as they explained things and how they gently told her not to worry. They do seem to be incredibly kind. When they finally moved their paws Pippy in an instant relaxed a lot more around them as she gave a grateful expression to them, although she quickly lowered her head again in guilt with how they only wish for her not to get hurt. She needs to fix this.

“S-Sorry… Your paws were scaring me. Sorry, you're acting so nice Mr Giant Gembound, but I’m acting so rude...” she is awful, they only wish to help her because she hurt herself.

“And OK I will… I’ll take it easy…” complying with this Pippy finally stops trying to escape, they genuinely don’t want to hurt her, so there’s no reason not to stay now. Shivering a little, getting chilly from cold water still clinging to her coat, she wanted to blanket herself with her arms, but even when Pippy tried to move them she let out whimpers as each movement made her pain worse, so she stays sitting there shivering still.

At her questions, Kielo lowered their ears and shook their head, guit setting in as they thought they'd made the wrong impression on the little one. "N-no, of course not!" they stammered, ruffling their wings to calm themselves down. "I've j-just never had to explain it before." They appeared to relax slightly.

"O-oh, and, you don't need to call me Mr. Giant Gembound. My name's Kielo! Do you have a name?" Hearing her explanation, Kielo nodded slowly, feathers around their face rose on end with embarrassment. "N-no, don't worry! You're not rude. N-no need to be sorry!" hey relaxed further as the little one said that she'd relax, finally lowering their head, and plopping their muzzle down onto the ground, breathing out a soft and relieved sigh.

They smiled peacefully, relieved. "Th-thank you. Do you need me to do anything for you? Winter said that I did a good job of helping her get better."

Pippy became less tense as she relaxes a little more when this huge one shook their head; oh geez though, now her guilt is now on how she has made them feel bad. If she weren't in such pain to move her small form she'd try and make things up by going over and hugging or nuzzling them. Pippy can still talk even if speaking has always been a bit challenging for her in a sense on how naturally small it is and how much smaller it can sound when she's even a little bit scared.

"...Huh really? This is the first time? So I didn't say anything wrong?" well she's glad she didn't say anything offensive then even if it was by accident as she shot a smile at them which appears a little apologetic, a small one to avoid any muscles from hurting more.

"O-Oh OK then! Hi there then Mr Gian- a-ah no sorry, I-I mean hi there, Kielo! Nice to meet you," Pippy gets a little fidgety with her wings from shyness on how she got close to referring to them by 'Mr. Giant Gembound' again by mistake, though her fidgeting was subtle to avert any more pain from flaring up from moving too much.

"Uhhhh I...... mmm, Pippy!" Pippy hesitated for a brief moment in answering Kielo with her shyness growing, but it is not precisely fear she only feels a little awkward currently.

"Oh OK, that's good then, I'd hate to be mean or rude, it wouldn't be nice," Pippy mentioned the last part quietly like she was ashamed or something, though it was more on how she is confused why anyone would choose not to act kindly towards others.

A slight quake shook a little as Kielo slumped down like they are tired beyond belief, warm air blew through Pippy's coat as Kielo sighed.

"O-Oh what is it Kielo, are you tired?" they seem to be in Pippy's eyes; but maybe she is wrong?

"Oh, anything I need for you to do? I-I don't know I-I guess I'm a little cold because of this cold water. Still, why did you thank me Kielo?" she doesn't know how Kielo can help her with warming up maybe get her a little bit away from this water as she was too near it still.

"O-Oh is it no trouble? In you helping me get better Kielo? How do you help one get better? Do you do it with hugs? Or Magick maybe?" hugs often make everything better right? Still, Magick came to mind too as Magick always manages to surprise her with something new after all.

"Of course not," Kielo said again, relief showing in their voice. "There's gotta be a first time for everything, right?"

They chuckled softly at the little one's stammering, correcting themselves on their name just in time. But the hybrid appeared to appreciate it. "Pippy? What a cute name!" they trilled, ruffling their wings and shaking their mane feathers until they fluffed out.

As the little one questioned on their tiredness, the hybrid's ears perked upright and their eyes flickered. "Just relieved," they explained calmly, before a look of surprise crossed their face. "I'm thanking you for calming down... Being scared won't help you get better."

The hybrid paused, before speaking, with a bashful tone. "I can dry you off, If you want? Maybe warmth will ease the pain."
