She just stood there, breathing deeply. Breathing in her victory. The snake had gone limp in her jaws and she knew that she must be dead now. The blood was running in her throat and she dropped the corpse of her enemy upon the ground. She laughed, her voice rising in pitch and volume until she was basically screaming. It quickly turned into a fit of coughing that she recovered from easily. Her first true revenge against those that had wronged her in the life before. She had more to go, many more, but this was the first.

She hoped that the snake suffered. She hoped that she had wished for death. Yes, she hoped so badly that the snake had been in so much pain. She laughed at the idea, laughed so happily with so much relief and twisted joy. She leaned down, her eyes shining. "I'll bet you can still hear me, you foolish little worm and I hope you fall into hell and never return. I hope you feel every bit as pain as you caused me. I hope you get to watch me find your friend - the funny little white thing with the crown - and I hope you get to watch me as I tear them apart, piece by piece!" She laughed with glee at her own words and kicked the snake's body so that it rolled in the dust.

Winter could barely feel anything anymore. Her body was shutting down from the amount of pain she was in. She could feel blood covering her body , every single wound burning like wildfire. Her breathing came so fast it could barely be seen. Perhaps that was why the goose thought she was dead and she she let her go. Completely drained of energy, Winter thumped onto the ground, utterly exhausted.

She didn't register most of the goose's words. She didn't care. That is, until she mentioned Kielo. "The funny white thing with the crown." Feeling flew back to her body and a rage unlike anything she had ever felt before in her life surged through her body. With a loud hiss, the venom surged into her fangs and she struck forward, ignoring the pain in her body. Her teeth sunk into the goose's neck and she refused to let go as she pumped her venom furiously into her enemy, the most hated creature, the most disgusting thing. She would kill her. Kill her! KILL HER!!!


"And still I feel I said too much."
"My silence is my self defense."

Blackberry had thought she won. She thought that she had killed the snake. But then, all of a sudden, the snake was gone and an incredible pain raced into her neck.

With a screaming honk, she staggered back, the snake swinging from her neck. Venom pumped into her veins furiously then it ever had before, as the snake was not letting go. Fear pounded at her chest as the world started to spin and her entire front chest lit up with roaring fire. She was screaming now as she reached up with a claw and tore the snake away from her neck. She tossed the thing onto the ground and held it down with one claw, glaring at it with uncontrollable fury.

"H-how dare you?! I was the victor! I won! You were dead!" But then she smiled cruelly.
"But, of course, now that you're still alive, I have every opportunity to make your last moments a living hell!"

With a roar of laughter, she gripped the snake's skin and tore a chunk away. The white had been completely covered with red blood and was almost unrecognizable. She kept laughing and laughing and laughing as her claws dug into the snake...until there was nothing and she flopped to the ground next to the snake, the venom taking hold.

Winter was ripped away and she hissed with anger. No, she had to keep getting more venom in there. She would do anything. She wanted to completely empty herself of her venom. She wanted every last drop to go into that goose's body. Now. She wanted it NOW.

But then she was on the ground again, unable to get her fangs into the goose. Before she could do anything, the bird was ripping away at her flesh. She screamed and screamed and screamed before, finally, it stopped. The goose was on the ground, the venom probably wiping her out.

Winter lay on her back, staring up with shock. She couldn't feel anything anymore. The world was getting hazy and she passed from consciousness, her blood coating the ground.

Blueberry watched the battle with a cruel gerin on his face. Blackberry was winning. She would kill that dirty snake. It turned out they didn't need the plants. But the moose had spoken to soon.

One second, Blackberry was taunting the little snake, and then next the snake was latching onto the goose's neck, and Blackberry went limp. Or rather, not limp. But like she had the last time.

Blue scooped the plants up in his mouth and rushed to Blackberry, terrified. He paid the snake no mind, even though he could easily end up in the same state as his beloved goose. Blue carefully out the plants down, making sure not to ingest any of them. Blackberry needed them all. He pressed some against the wound on her neck, and nudged her mouth until it fell open. He dropped as many of the pants as he could into her sharp-toothed mouth.

"Blackberry... Blackberry polease swallow these. I need you to eat them. They'll make you better. Please... please.... please... I can't lose you. Please, Blackberry. I can't I... I love you... Don't die." Blueberry sobbed, afraid of losing Blackberry. He was young and didn't know her well the first time this happened, but he knew the effects of the snake's venom. Blue watched the goose closely, tears streaming down his face. He couldn't lose her. No. He couldn't.

He would break his own gem if he lost her. He would die if he lost her. But she wouldn't swallow them. Blue didn't know what to do. The plants just sat there, useless. He needed her to ingest them. Blue tentatively used his hoof to stuff them farther down her mouth. That was all he could do. And get her away from that snake.

Blue laid down next to Blackberry, staying there for a minute. But he couldn't wait any longer. The white snake could wake up any minute, and he was sure that she'd attack him. He couldn't end up like this either. Then they'd both die. Blue carefully nudged Blackberry onto his back and stood, his legs shaking. Not because of her weight, but because of his fear for her. He walked off, trying to avoid shaking her. Blue took her away keeping her safe. Her healer. Her companion. He'd never leave her. Blue left the bloody scene, never wanting to return here again.
