Aka had never felt so lonely. It was nice, sure, these past few cycles, being alone and not caring. Being alone and not worrying. But at the same time, it was terrifying. He hated being alone. Occasionally he'd see another Gembound around, but he'd never approach them. Sometimes though, he'd get so lonely he'd just talk to his food, dangling a mouse by its tail and spouting off random things, just to socialize. Strange, but something not too bad.

However, the day had come. He was going to approach someone. The Barn Owl groaned at the thought, surprised that he was so anxious about it. Aka moved quickly, his talons clicking against the ground of Polaris quietly. He paced back and forth, deciding how to approach someone else. Or how he would react if he was approached. The bird had no clue.

@Blackberry

Blackberry was pacing now. She was pacing and thinking. She continuously kept walking back to the entrance of the Tunnel where she had left Blueberry and their gems. But then she remembered what was waiting for her and strode away. Somehow, she could never return there while they were sitting there, so innocently and beautiful. The anticipation was tearing at her heart. What would they be like? How would they look, being the children of a moose and a goose? Two creatures that should never have become one?

And what of the madness that Blackberry felt tearing at her mind? What of the anger she had never stopped feeling, the hate and rage? And of her mutation? The quills and the claws and the talons and the beak. Would they have those deformities too?

She was getting angrier by the second. The one time Blueberry probably needed her, she wasn't going to be there. Blueberry had always been there for her, but now she couldn't be there for him. Pathetic. She walked right past the owl, contemplating so much that she didn't even know where she was going anymore.

Aka continued his pacing. It was useless, but it was better than nothing. His thoughts were interrupted by what he thought to be a goose, though it didn't look very much like one, walked past him.

His head swiveled to look at the creature, his eyes wider than usual, which was saying a lot. The bird studied the freak of nature as it moved, noticing it's quilled wings and the spikes that ran along its spine.

The barn owl moved after it, opening his beak to speak. "Hey, mutant." He called rudely, his voice bored. But in reality, he was rather excited to see someone else. Even if it was a terrifying thing that he thought should not exist.

For the first time in her life (probably), Blackberry was minding her own business. She had no quarrel with the owl she had not noticed and, even if she had noticed her, she most likely would not have attacked. She had much better things to concern herself with.

But then the owl shouted out and everything was dashed from her mind at the extremely rude call of the little bird. She froze, becoming violently aware of the little creature in the corner of her eye. A fire blazed in her stomach as she slowly turned to face her. How...how dare she! How dare! Who was this little thing, being so rude, to talk to her like that! She had never seen her before, in either life, nor in Hell.

"Excuse me?" she snarled, turning completely to face the bird, her claws opening a little with rage. "Who the hell are you to talk to me like that? Don't you know who I am?"

Aka's rude call was replied with by a now very angry goose thing. "Um, aren't you an ugly looking goose thing with a big bad attitude?" He replied sarcastically, rolling his eyes. He tried completely ignore the fact that the strange creature's belly trap thingy open slightly. It horrified the owl.

"Shut your trap. It's disgusting." Aka demanded in a bored tone. "Oh, and I'm Aka, you?" He asked as if his horrible manners and rude behavior was completely normal. The bird hadn't been taught any manners at all, he had only ever met the wolf, Kera, and he stole from her. His track record was not great.

Blackberry didn't want to fight this thing. Well, no, that was a lie. Now that the bird had insulted her, she was ready to tear it to pieces. But she didn't need to and hadn't wanted to before. She had thought that she would try something different; not fight something unless it deserved it. She had had no intention of destroying this bird for no reason. But now it had angered her. It had called forth the rage that had been boiling within her ever since she had woken up with three gems under her belly.

Her eyes popped as she honked loudly with anger. With one of her wings, she picked the necklace from her neck and held it up for the owl to see. "I. Am. Blackberry! The Terror of the Caves! Do you see this here? This?! This is a record of my victories! I have killed, I have destroyed! A bird's gem and a dog's gem here, two snakes, a bear, and a dragon!!" Her voice was shrieking and furious as she stormed up to the owl. She was much taller then the thing and her claws opened up wide, as if to swallow the bird whole. "You, Aka, do you want to die? Because one more word and I won't hold back!"

Aka groaned. This bird was a show-off, a self-proclaimed killer. "Oh! Did you make those little charms in arts and crafts? How cute" He retorted, paying no mind to the claims of defeating dragon and snakes and other creatures. They were most likely lies.

Did the bird want to die? No. Did he think bird-brain Blackberry would kill him? No. She was probably all talk and no fight. After all, Kera had said something like she was the best fisher, and yet she almost drowned because she couldn't. Or was she trying to save him? Aka didn't remember, but that didn't matter.

"Show me, then, if you really are so badass, mutant." Aka taunted, spreading his wings for effect, leaving his body unprotected.

Was this all she was meant to do? Was she just a weapon of destiny? It seemed that those she was to hunt were placed in front of her eyes while others that she left alone were shoved before her claws. This one time she didn't want to fight, didn't need to kill, someone was begging for a taste of her claws and fangs.

But she was Blackberry. How could she refuse the call of a bloody fight?

With a roar, she surged forward, ready to rip out the owl's throat, just as she had done with the bird, the first bird, when she had struck out of her second shell.

But...something was off. Why was he just standing there, wings wide open? She had a clear head now, not completely ready to leap into battle without thinking. Interpreting Aka's carelessness for tactics, Blackberry held off her attack and instead backed away, wings defensively bent, ready to fly at any moment.

"What are you standing there like that for?

Aka practically laughed s the goose stopped her attack. What was she doing? Letting him get at her? Foolish bird. He didn't give his reply and instead propelled himself forward through the air, picking his talons up and gripping the goose's throat lightly. He tried to get a better grip, but the hard growth on the back of her neck prevented him from getting a good hold.

"To see if you had the guts to attack. Guess you don't mutant." He spat, his eyes glared. He kept flapping his wings steadily, staying in the air, his body being pushed forward. He held onto Blackberry's throat though, and it anchored him.

Blackberry was expecting the fool to attack, but she wasn't expecting it to be so lame. The claws barely dug into her skin and it wasn't exactly an iron grip. She frowned at the bird. The rage was building, boiling, bubbling but she held back. She didn't want to. She had children to go back to, a loved one. Everything was so different now. Her fighting spirit didn't seem so bright.

She couldn't get herself to attack, even with the bird gripping her threat. What was wrong with her?!
