There was nothing left to say. The newborn Gembound began leading the way back, and though he slipped many times, he didn't tumble down the hill as readily as the first time. Eventually, struggles aside, bird and lynx both reached the top of Tunnel M where they had met.

By then, Phineas was shivering and welcomed the inviting warmth of Orion. The room was enigmatic, colder than most other locales in their vast cavern world, but it was home for him. The very young Gembound padded ahead with his large ears twitching and his tail flipping side to side. He glanced back once or twice to make sure Bevy was still with him, all the while heading toward the tower.

When they reached it, the young lynx curled up just outside the doorway. On the steps, Bevy would find the remains of his howlite chrysalis, but Phineas wasn't interested in it. He just wanted to sleep, maybe forget about his misadventure. "Phin h-home," he said with a wide yawn. "Bevy like?"

Bevy followed the young feline quietly, her feathers rustling gently as she felt just above him, tailing behind to go wherever he would lead. The tunnel opened up into the wide cavern full of sparkling quartz. Orion was just so beautiful.. She could get lost in it, honestly. The world was full of stars, like the night sky, though no gembound could say they knew what a night sky looked like. The world glistened as the cub led her to giant tower, one that reached to the sky and glistened like it too was made of pure, white ice.

"It's beautiful," she peeped brightly, noticing the remains of the lynx's egg. "I love it." This was where he had been born, so of course he would call it home. It made sense. She had been quick to leave her home because of the danger, but here was perfectly safe. A great lair for a little kitten. Nodding with approval, she noticed the baby gembound's little yawn. With a tilt of her head, she hopped up on to a step and blinked.

"I think you could use some rest. I live just on the other side of that tunnel, so we can see each other whenever you like. Now that I know where you are I can visit whenever you like, okay?" Yes, the lynx cub needed some rest. She wouldn't want to keep him up and stumbling around. With that she nodded, waited to make sure he would be alright, and then took off. She had Maji Walezi to watch after, after all.
