To Jayberry's greatest relief, she could hear Papa's large hooves pounding on the ground. He was faster than she could have expected, moving much more quickly then a moose should be capable of. The fear on his face was obvious, and she was quick to let go of Mother, allowing him to tend to mother.

"I'm fine, but Mulberry is hurt. We attacked a bird-thing and it fought back. Mama, Mulberry and Huckleberry were hit by a funny beam thing. Baneberry and Huckleberry ran off." she panted, feeling herself shiver.

Thankfully, mother seemed to be almost conscious, grabbing a feather before being taken by Father. Father assigned her to help Mulberry, and she nodded. "Of course!" Seeing Mulberry shaking, Jayberry gave a concerned whine, and stepped up to her. She nuzzled her gently, before bracing herself, allowing Mulberry to use her as a crutch, and leading her back to their home.

Wherever Blueberry was taking her, Blackberry didn't know. Hopefully back to the tunnel like she asked. She still had no idea that two of them were missing, only that she had her family (most of it) surrounding her. With a sigh, she let her head fall back, still clutching the feather, her trophy, and passed into unconsciousness.
