Ocelot tilted his head as he listened to her, then looked to the stone.When she started laughing, he too giggled a bit, and then joined in more as she laughed harder. When the laughing stopped he looked at his chest, at his one stone and tilted his head slightly.

"Don't be sorry, there is no reason to be sorry. You did nothing wrong. I actually don't know what my stone does."

He then looked to her again and gave a few sniffs to her stone before speaking agin.

"I have an idea. Why don't I do the seeing for you? I can be your eyes, tell you where you're going, tell you who you are talking to and what they look like and one day, maybe you can adapt and learn to live without seeing."

Ocelot licked at her again again softly and laid down next to her. He was glad he met Rast, he was glad he could be there for her. He only wish that he could of stopped this from happening.

The fact that he had laughed with her allowed her to relax further. He seem to understand what she went through was no easy thing. While her body needed to heal, so did her mind. Rast nodded as he comforted her further, telling her there was no need to be sorry. So kind... so friendly... Being a naturally solitary animal, the snow leopard never thought she would find the presence of another so... needed.

"You would do that?" Once again her heart swelled. Ocelot was kinder than any gembound she had met to date. He was willing to sacrifice so much of his time to help her. To be ones eyes meant he had to be around for her all the time. So much kindness would have made her eyes water if she had tear ducts to shed them. For another moment she was speechless.

She felt him rest beside her. When he did so, Rast moved closer to him. She used her nose to try and locate him well enough to lick his ear as he had done to hers. Her tongue only managed to touch the air. She decided not to dwell on this.

"Ocelot, I think you are the kindest gembound I have ever met." Rast pressed her head against him, "With you as my eyes, perhaps my world wont stay this dark." She owed him her life and she would treat him as such. Nothing would happen to her savior, she would do everything in her power to keep her Hell from becoming his.

Ocelot smild at her as she spoke. He watched her try to lick him and slowly, he leaned in and nuzzled her followed up with a lick. He then leaned his head gently on her shoulder.

"Yes, it's the least I can do Rast. I want to help you as much as I can and I will do. In times like this, you need a friend who you can trust in, a friend who you can lean on."

He closed his eyes, relaxing against her, swishing his tail softly.

"Then I am glad you found me." She paused and mulled over the word friend. She had friends like Aspen and Layla, but Ocelot seemed to truly care so much. A true friend in the purest sense of the word. "I am glad that you are my friend."

With that, she rested against him as he did for her. A feeling of calm washed over her and her muscles fully relaxed. Rast found comfort in his scent and warmth. It almost made her want to doze off even though she had been unconscious just a short while before. A yawn escaped her.

"If I fall asleep will you stay next to me?" Rast rested her head on her paws as she asked her question. The idea of Hellberry coming to find her still gnawed at the back of her mind. She would have to tell Ocelot about that foul creature so that he may avoid that place. But for now...

"I am very tired..." With a world so dark, at least she didn't have to worry about the bright lights of Polaris keeping her up. That's a plus I suppose...

Ocelot smiled and nuzzled her. He was glad that she was his friend too. He watched as leaned on him and listened as she yawned. After what happened, he wasn’t surprised that she was tired.

”I’m glad we’re friends too. I’ll be here when you wake up, I promise.”

He licked her ear once more as he watched her. He wouldn’t go off without her. No, she needed to be safe and he would protect her no matter what.

Rast heaved a great sigh as Ocelot told her he would stay. Usually she hated sleeping in the open, but now that she had a companion it was so much easier. It only took a moment for her eyelid to close over the stone that replaced her eye.

Instead of nightmares, her mind remained black. The nothingness allowed her to rest without stirring. This time she slept because of exhaustion not pain or fear. The snow leopard would soon wake, this was true. But for now she rested close to her friend.

Nearly an hour passed before she stirred again. When she woke it was just as dark. Where did all the lights- oh. She had already forgotten her blindness. Her body was also warm. It wasn't until Ocelots familiar scent filled her nostrils. A short purr errupted from deep in her chest.

"Are you awake?" Rast mewed softly, raising her head to find him.

Ocelot had stayed awake watching out for Rast while she slept. Every so often he’d check on her to see how she was sleeping. The moment she was awake, he was at her side.

”Yes, I’m awake. How are you feeling?”

Ocelot gave a soft lick to Rast’s cheek and nuzzled it softly. He gave her a smile and sat down next to her.

"Better." She purred. It was true for the most part. She felt rested, but the pain of her wounds was still raw. She forced herself to try and ignore the pain, but it needed her attention. "Still... painful."

With a low groan, she used her front legs to push herself into sitting position. Rast used her tail to find Ocelot. When she found exactly where he was in proximity to her, she leaned. It took a lot of energy just to sit up. The movement also made her head feel light as she still felt the affects of blood loss.

"Did you sleep at all?" She purred drowsily.

Ocelot listen to her and gave a soft nod. H wasn’t surprised that it was still painful. It would probably be a while before the pain stopped.

”I’m glad you are feeling better. I hope the pain stops soon.”

He looked to the lake and slowly got himself up. He looked to her and gave a soft smile.

”You haven’t drank since I found you. You should have something to drink. Here, let me guide you.”

Ocelot tried to help Rast up but she was heavier than he expected and he stumbled a little. Once she was up, he slowly guided her closer to the lake, close enough so she could get a drink.

”Can you stand?”

He watched her carefully, wondering if she was able to stand without his support. He wouldn’t move from her unless he was sure.

At the mention of water she realized that her mouth was dryer than the grounds in Monoceros. "Water does sound pretty good..." A pained cry squeezed its way out of the cats mouth as Ocelot help her to stand. The movement made the dried blood on her wounds split just enough to cause her to bleed a little more. She leaned heavily on him, her paws felt like rocks at the end of her legs. She could feel Ocelots muscles straining against her body. Once again a wave of appreciation washed over her.

"I can try..." She whispered, straining her sore muscles. Rast shifted her weight, spreading her paws a bit to balance herself. It seemed to work, although she swayed gently like a tree in the wind. "I can do this." She muttered, more to herself than anything.

Ocelot had gotten her to the waters edge, now it was her job to drink. The snow leopard crouched down to the surface, relying on her whiskers to keep her from nose diving into the water. Once her whiskers tapped the waters surface she began to lap up the chilled waters. Another purr rumbled from her chest as she drank it. Never had anything tasted so good.

When she finished she sat back up, "Thank you. I never thought I would enjoy a drink of water so much." Rast laughed hoarsely and smiled, hopefully in the direction of her friend.
