Envy nodded once again, and watched Pride leaving, taking the parasite with him. When he was gone, the weasel relaxed slightly, though they couldn’t resist one last shudder at the thought. After Pride’s nasty surprise, both the silence, and the weight of their own thoughts, didn’t seem half bad. At least they were alone, unlike pride; not that aloneness was much better.

The weasel usually spent their alone time looking to fill the gaps, or searching for members of their kingdom. They were too fidgety to just sit and think on this. The weasel was silent for a time, tail twitching, until finally the silence closed too tightly, like a noose. They shivered, and bounded out of the throne room, back towards the grotto that they’d hidden the shard of diamond; the shard that Pride hadn’t even asked about.
