Envy soon gave up trying to hoist Amazon onto their back on account that their quills were starting to prickle upright. They paced around her again, watching as she stiffened, freezing as she slumped onto the ground. The quills along their entire length prickled upright then, until they were as bristled like a tilet brush. Whiskers stiffened.

Then the real terror began.

The weasel moved forward towards the twitching and thrashing lizard, darting around her, then stopping and for a moment bouncing and writhing on the spot- they had no idea what was going on. But the young one was looking to them for help. "Okay--- okay!" they sputtered between jumps. "How would I know? I don't know! But this is bad!"

The weasel sat upright, quills twitching wildly, and tail thrashing against the stone. Finally they jerked forward, and as best they could fastened their teeth around the back of the little lizard's neck. She was small, even compared to them, but their short legs didn't lift her very far off the ground- her tail still dragging on the floor. And they could still feel her twitching.

"I'm taking her to the Throne--- to Pride!"

Then they were running, raising their head and neck up as far as they could and trying desperately not to stumble over her tail. They were surprisingly fast, considering their size, as all of the energy went into their blurring little legs.

Amazon didn't notice Luster's crying. Amazon didn't notice Envy picking her up. She didn't notice them running. She didn't notice anything. She was dead to the world, a lifeless corpse for now that twitched and writhed in Envy's grip. Saliva dripped from her mouth and her eyes rolled senselessly. Her entire body was out of control.

But then, floating in that dark void, sleeping quite un-peacefully, she began to awaken. Slowly, groggily. Her body stopped moving for a second and it could easily have been mistaken as dead, save for the tiny little breaths that came fast and shallow. Her eyes were shut for a moment before they slowly began to slide open. The world was foggy and unfocused. She didn't really know what she was looking at. She didn't even notice she was being carried for a moment. All she knew was that her head hurt really bad and she was quite thirsty.

The little hybrid felt clarity for the first time ever as she looked between Envy and Mother-Amazon, and wished she didn't. She wished that she could go back to when the world swam around her, and she felt happy and nothing was wrong. But now she felt fear, and terror, and she wanted her Mama!

But Mama was flailing and trembling and twitching on the ground, and there was a stranger trying to get her on their back. Oh, oh! She could help. The hybrid tripped over herself as she lunged forward, grabbing her twitching tail in her mouth, alarmed as it stopped twitching as they began to run to - wherever it was the Envy had said they were going.
