And then he stopped.

The kitten scrambled across Huckleberry's back, between his wings, and held back onto the scruff of his neck. She had the advantage, now, of being able grip the loose skin without actually hurting him or drawing blood-- which is exactly what she did.

Then, with a white mitten, began furiously whacking the back of his head. Likely not all that hard, considering the difference in size, but certainly enough to be annoying.

She quickly found, however, that it was too difficult to keep a grip and whack at the same time. So, instead, she just gripped Huckleberry as hard as she could in case he started shaking again.

Huckleberry felt the cat move up his back and grip the feathers around his neck. He didn't like that feeling, not at all. Shiny never went up his neck on account of the prickly feathers that maned the back of his head to his shoulders but apparently this cat didn't care. He didn't want her there. There was a soft, moaning sound of displeasure coming from his throat now as he shook his neck.

All of a sudden he jerked forward, leaning forward to scrape the back of his neck against the ground to try and get the cat off. It was a very strange position and he almost lost his balance from the sudden swift motion.

Jay yowled, half in surprise and half in pain as she was shoved into the cave floor. Perhaps it was unintentional, but the kitten quickly found out that being crammed and scraped against the ground by someone much larger hurt.

Did she let that deter her?

The kitten was stubborn, and she only gripped tighter to try to stay on.

When Huckleberry stood back up, he was surprised to still feel the cat holding onto his neck. That hadn't worked? He was starting to panic a little bit. He didn't want this cat on him anymore, not anymore! She needed to get off!

Not really thinking properly, he dropped to his stomach, holding his wings in tight, and completely just rolled over, trying to, at least, dislodge the cat, or stun her enough to let go.

The lion-stag stood regally atop the judges's post, silvery eyes fixated firmly upon the wrestling match and nothing else. While he still wished to have observed the magicka competition closely, he couldn't help but take pride in his work, here. Who knew that physical combat could be so versatile and full of clever tricks. The match between the gryphon and caracal had been his favorite, so far --- however sour a mood the latter had left in.

Yet, this match... spurred some concern in Azizos. At the end of its allotted time, Huckleberry had both scraped the smaller feline across the ground and rolled over top of her --- the former had elicited quite a pained cry. "Do you believe that was intentional?" The lion-stag rumbled quietly to Glory, at his side, "that warrants a warning, at the very least. I see no blood."

Glory had watched the combatants fight with a careful, even gaze. He did not have the same hatred for Huckleberry that he had for Jayberry, but still, the name had put him on edge. However, the hybrid seemed much different from his sister, and he was careful to keep his own personal feelings aside.

Azizos's words made him rethink, though, and he rewound the match in his head. The cat had been clinging hard to Huckleberry and nearing the end he had seemed to grow agitated. Glory had to admit, though, that he probably would have done the same thing if he were Huckleberry.

"I think he was doing what he could to get her off. There's no blood and the kitten doesn't seem harmed, so I think a warning would suffice, as long as it was not intentional."

After a few exchanged words, Glory opened his wings and called out to the crowd. "We have elected to award the victory to Huckleberry, although we would like to remind him that this contest is not one of violence - while you should try to win, we don't want to actually be hurting each other. If we need to warn you again, we will have no choice but to disqualify you."

He nodded towards the audience and backed up until he was next to Azizos again and settled himself in for the next match.

And then, the kitten was being crushed by someone about seven times her size. Yeah, that wasn't fun. She let out another sharp yowl of pain and shot away from Huckleberry as soon as she was able, legs shaking and breathing heavily.

There'd been no crunches to indicate anything had broken, but fuck, it still felt like she couldn't breathe. Being a kitten, after all, she had virtually no pain tolerance to begin with.

Jay hissed angrily. "He hurt me," she said, but that was all she said-- the judges had decided, apparently, that no blood drawn meant that no harm was done.

Assholes, Jay thought bitterly, as she staggered out of the ring with bristled fur to recover.

Maybe Huckleberry wasn't thinking when he had rolled himself over, but it certainly hadn't been his intention and when the cat yowled again, he immediately flinched and pulled himself off of her, backing away hastily. "I'm sorry...sorry, I'm so s-sorry..."

He was shivering again, terrified that he'd done something wrong and hurt the kitten, even though he was incredibly light for his size. He looked at the eagle judge as he hopped down and bowed his head shamefully. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, it won't happen again I promise!" There were more tears in his eyes and as they began to fall, Shiny came tumbling out of the crowd, sprinting towards where he was. With one bound, she latched onto his side and crawled onto his back where she settled. It's okay, Huckle-friend, you didn't hurt her much. You didn't mean to.

Huckleberry shook his head, though, quite disturbed by what he'd done. If he was heavier, or, at least, as heavy as his size implied, he really would have done damage to the kitten. She's just a kitten! He trudged out of the arena, even more depressed then before.
