Hibernation, what a wonderful feeling. The fox was unsure what caused it, but that was fine by him. Clearly, he had needed the rest. His time in the chrysalis was filled with pleasant dreams of shiny things and even sometimes his friend, Max. I wonder what he is up to? That silly pup had been all paws. Surely, he was grown now. I should find him...

Humphrey gave a long stretch, his small paws pushing hard against the rose quartz chrysalis. It gave away with ease. For another moment, he remained stretched on his side. His eyes were squeezed shut. Oh it's so bright... He rolled with little elegance on to his belly before rubbing his eyes with both of his paws.

The little fox rose to his paws, shaking off his white fur. It was patchy as if his fur was confused and unable to decide on whether or not it should shed. It didn't bother Humphrey. With a great sigh, he padded through the undergrowth, blinking blearily.

Even with his blurry vision, he spotted something odd sticking out of the undergrowth. It was a vibrant orange. As he approached, he noticed it seemed half buried. Nothing a little digging can't fix!

The soft earth was quick to dirty the foxes fur has exhumed the vibrant object. He could feel that it was soft like an animals hide and flexible. He continued to dig for a while longer, but a piece of the thing was stuck under a root somehow.

Humphrey shoved his nose into the dirt and gave it a quick sniff. Surely a good tug would do the trick.

The clenched the fabric between his teeth and yanked as hard as he could. Instead of the thing coming free from the root, Humphrey came free from the bag. The albino fox fell back on to his rump with a grunt.

How the? He shook his head and rose back to his paws. Perhaps one more try would do the trick! This thing appeared to be some sort of soft thing that he would be able to put things in. Perhaps he could put it on his back, a sort of pack for his back!

The fox let out a startled chirp as the thing pulled free. Humphrey took a moment to sniff around it. The orange pack was dirty and smelled rather strange. It had a flap and a pouch that could hold things. It would be useful! But he had to figure out how exactly to make use of it first.

The fox picked it up with tender teeth and rolled it over. There was a strap that dangeld from it. Maybe I can...?
