Description: This rabbit-wolf hybrid is covered in thick, somewhat scraggly and dry, very dark brown-black fur slightly countershaded beneath with a faintly lighter shade. It stands at about twenty-four inches at the shoulder, weighing perhaps fifty to sixty pounds, and always appears to be in a very thin, nearly-emaciated shape. Its gait is somewhat uneven or wobbly, weak. A rough bloodstone gem protrudes from its sternum, making chest-down rest somewhat uncomfortable.

A wolflike muzzle, whiskered with rabbits' whiskers and tipped with a rabbit-like nose with canine nose-leather along its edges, conceals primarily wolflike teeth featuring a rabbit's curved, ever-growing incisors. A long, wolflike neck is muscularly weak, leading to a strange sag and, commonly, an aching neck. The skull is somewhere in shape between a wolf's broad, flat skull and a rabbit's rounded one; rabbit-like ears offer this creature a superb sense of hearing. Wolflike front legs end in thickly-furred rabbit's paws with long, slender claws and a total absence of paw-pads. The hunched, thin body then leads to powerful rabbit's hind legs, tipped with wolflike paws with pads. The tail is long and bushy, like a wolf's. This creature bears the instinctive ability to dig burrows and dens, and may feel more secure living within one. This creature will be omnivorous, able to eat and digest both plant and animal matter.

Due to Jayberry's injured state upon Giving Life to three gemstones, each will bear some deformities. This one is perpetually muscularly weak, appearing slender or scraggly, even emaciated; its fur is very dry and dull, along with the aching neck. Its eyes--blood red--are hazed over with blue-grey cataracts, so that its eyesight is forever dimmed.

Description: This gembound is the size of a large wolf, at about one hundred twenty pounds. If it were able to stand upright it would have been perhaps thirty inches tall at the shoulder.

The skin is mostly iridescent blue scales with golden-yellow markings scattered over its surface, with seemingly-random patches of black fur scattered here and there. The end result is a strange patchwork of fish-skin and wolf-pelt.

A withered, twisted muzzle with a few missing teeth makes it difficult for this creature to eat: a deformity brought on by its wolf parent's ill health. A wolf's nose, eyes (which happen to be red, as its wolf parent's) and ears offer it fairly keen senses. A rough black Jet crystal juts from its right shoulder. The neck is weak, tending to sag and cause aches and pains.

The fore- and hind-limbs are both those of a wolf, but while the hind legs end in wolf paws, the forelimbs end in soft fins, making them unsuitable for walking. However, this creature is incapable of breathing in water, making ambulation difficult for it. A collapsed cichlid-like fish fin hangs over its back, flopping to either side, and a fish tail drags behind it, too weak to use for swimming--again somewhat deformed by the circumstances of its creation. This creature is a carnivore, able to eat and digest only meat.

Description: This jet-black creature is the largest of the three children, weighing in at around one hundred seventy pounds, and standing about three feet tall at its shoulder. It bears six limbs. The first pair is too short and forward-placed to serve in weight-bearing, and might have served well as arms with hands were the limbs not tipped in wolflike paws. The second pair is long and slender, like a wolf's legs, but tipped in a malformed lump of flesh that did not properly separate into toes and instead resemble fleshy, misshapen hooves with misplaced claws. These two feet are asymmetrical, clearly deformed, and splayed to face almost straight out to either side from the body. This may make fast movement awkward but not painful. The hind legs are thick and well-muscled, ending in heavy hooves. The tail is long.

A muscular neck leads into a long body of medium build, covered in thick, lightly-scaled hide with scraggly and uneven patches of fur. The skull is mostly wolflike until the face, which is apelike, with gorilla-esque nostrils and lips. Within the jaws, the rough chunk of powder-blue chalcedony has the bad fortune to jut from the roof of the mouth, making chewing, swallowing and keeping the mouth clean difficult. It may cause pain when at rest or chewing food, and will distort this gembound's speech. The teeth are also apelike--strong but mostly blunt bar long canines. The eyes are set to the sides, and would be blood-red if they were not clouded by cataracts, rendering this creature nearly-blind. Large, triangular ears, halfway wolf and half cat-like, provide excellent hearing, however. Long, curled spiral horns twist outward and back from the skull, making this creature's effective width nearly three full feet. This gembound is a carnivore, only able to digest meat.
