The dragon stared, listening from his perch out of sight beyond the fissure. He shook himself, spines rattling along his spine, in an idle fashion. He took his eyes off of it for a moment to peer at Envy, then swung his great head back to watch--with curiosity--the dust devil spinning briefly through the crevasse.

"WHAT IS THAT?" he demanded, ignoring Reseda's--well, demands. "I WANT THAT!" She'd made a mini-tornado! Like the one in Monoceros! He immediately felt himself greedily desiring the same magic, hungrily watching as it spun away into dusty nothingness.

Reign
He who is to be a good ruler
must have first been ruled

The komodo Dragon that Reign would have once called Greed went crashing down into the cavern, struggling to stop her fall but failing, crashing to the ground with a sound that made Reign's ears flick back.

He stepped up to loom behind Envy, knowing that Reseda was more than capable of several spells that could harm their King if she willed it. His fur bristled, and he moved to step forward as she began to inhale--only to breathe out a tornado, stepping into it and letting it launch her upwards.

But she failed,a nd crashed back to the ground. The Cheetah smirked, ducking his head to hide his very unproper amusement, although he couldn't help but to chuckle as she demanded that one of them help her get out of the crevasse. The dragon ignored her, instead booming loudly that he wanted the magic--Reign responded, "It's a spell, Dragon. You'll have to find someone to teach it to you."

Envy pattered to the edge of the pit, a small green face peering in. Purple eyes narrowed, apparently studying Reseda carefully. Though in reality, they were considering what the hell to do now. "I didn't expect you to clean them up, id--" they cut themselves off sharply, quills standing on end as they thought; focus, Envy. Insulting her is a bad idea. They clenched their jaw.

"As of right now the kingdom is a pack of newborns and untrained youths with potential, but no training. I won't have you killing them all with your stupid mistakes and foolish outbursts."

Envy was struggling enough to keep their head, but Reseda's words stung. Their quills prickled. They stepped back from the rim of the hole and tried not to show that it affected them, although their quills trembled, letting out a quiet hiss as they stalked around it. "That's enough!" they spat finally, appearing once again at the edge of the hole and arching their spine, bristling. "Shut up, or I'll tell the dragon following my orders to have its way! You're at my mercy, Reseda! Just think-- if you're at all capable of it-- you're in a hole with no other way out other than sucking up to me. You're not getting out until you do, and I'm going to enjoy every moment of it!"

Envy's heart pounded, yet they felt the adrenaline coursing through their veins. They felt all of the ambition of youth, the guilty pleasure of fiery anger. They knew, in that instant, that their words were the wrong ones. But they didn't care. They were many things, but if there was one thing that they wanted to prove, it's that pathetic wasn't one of them.

They watched as she summoned the tornado, and perhaps because of the fire in their blood, found themselves laughing. And not just laughing. No, they cackled The weasel hung on the edge of the hole and howled with laughter until their sides ached and their eyes watered. And then, they looked back down at Reseda, a grin spread across their face.

"Nice try."

Speech. Thought.

Envy's faltered words were not lost on Reseda and she latched onto them pretty much immediately. "Ah! You didn't expect me to succeed. You wanted me to go off and die because I was a nuisance." Her gaze moved from Envy to the giant dragon peering down at her. "You hear that, Dread? As soon as Envy is done with you they will caste you aside. They will take all the shinies they have given you. Like the giant shiny on the throne! Envy took it from you! If you let me out, I'll teach you the wind spell and I'll make sure they never take your shinies again!" And then her eyes moved to Reign and her gaze grew ever so gentler, although it was difficult, considering the storming rage within. "Reign...you are still young. Don't let Envy infect you too."

She sucked in another breath and exhaled. The wind stirred and began to whip around the interior of the crevice again but this time it was out of control. It picked her up and flung her right into the side of the wall, not even close to the top of the ravine. Groaning, she picked herself up, wondering if she's broken a rip this time. Envy's cackling made her blood boil and she glared up at the weasel. "I will kill myself before I grovel to you. Do what you wish with me and you will sorely regret it."

The dragon remained out of sight, and fidgeted a little.

So far, his loyalty was in Envy's court. He'd exchanged gift-for-task with the weasel in the past, so he wasn't so liable to swap sides so fast... yet Reseda's warning reminded him that someone had stolen that crystal from him. Someone that'd left green fur.

He was smart enough, then, to suddenly realize that Envy was too tiny to have moved it... but not quite smart enough to realize that Envy might have magic that could do it for them. He wasn't very familiar with energy magic or its uses.

Regardless, Reseda's reminder had him stumped, again--sitting perched, out of sight of the komodo near the fissure, puzzling over just how the hell his crystal had gotten here.

Nothing seemed to make sense--and to the casual observer, it might have seemed strongly as though he were considering the komodo's offer.

Envy's jaw clenched. They felt their quills bristling as she taunted them, and yet they tried not to react even though their fur burned with embarrassment and their vision began to bleed red. How dare she?! part of them fumed, as they paced up and down beside the hole. They turned towards the dragon. They bit their tongue until it bled to keep themselves flying into a rage, shrieking, and turning on her.

They had to be the bigger creature now, but oh god, they wanted to lash out so badly, to reach in there with their magic and simply end it all. All of their troubles, all of their problems, cold be gone with just one spell. She was trapped. There was nowhere she could run.

But even as they thought about it... they felt the edge of their rage wear off. A nauseating feeling brewed in their stomach. Their vision swam.

"Then kill yourself. It makes no difference to me," Envy said drily, before turning to the dragon. "I will teach you the spell. Take your gem back. I never wanted it here. I will deal with the lizard."

Finally, they turned to Reign. "Don't listen to her. She's a traitor, and a liar. You've seen what she's done. We'll discuss this later."

They paused, finally looking at Reseda. "And you... should make a decision. Time is running out, Lizard. I gave you the chance for a reward, and you blew it."

Envy paced one last time by the edge of the hole, then in full view of Reseda, disappeared. Hidden, they stalked back towards their throne, waiting until everyone was gone so that they could decide the fate of the biggest horn in their side.

Reseda watched Envy as they continued to pace, her eyes narrowed with disdain. Giving the weasel the power that she was meant to have had been a mistake. This had all been a mistake. She should never have formed this band of morons and fools.

The idiot decided, then, to just leave her there. Another idea sparked in her head on how to get out of here. She had tried using telekinesis on herself before and it hadn't worked, so she couldn't just fly out that way. But if she used it on a rock, perhaps she would be able to get herself out.

Down in the crevice, there were plenty of rocks to choose from. There was one nearby that was big enough to carry her but not so big that using her magic on it would be impossible. It had loosened when Dread had cast his spell so she used her own magic to unlodge it completely from the wall. She clambered onto its surface and took a deep breath. This was going to be difficult.

As soon as she began to cast her spell, however, she knew it would be futile. It was way too difficult to control with her on it and she only got it hovering on the ground before she fell right off of it.

There was nothing else to do now.

She settled herself down unhappily and looked up at the dragon and to Reign who still stood there. "Go on, then, Reign, your master is calling you. If you're going to help out, dragon, now is the time. But they are liars. They're using you." She looked away, settling her head on her claws, waiting for everyone to leave.

Dread remained settled where he was, watching the fissure but still out of direct line of sight of Reseda. He couldn't see what she was doing, but should she somehow clamber out, he'd be ready.

Not that he really wanted to be. He turned, bellowing after Envy.

"DO NOT BE LONG!" he demanded; he had no real desire to stay here.

Otherwise he just settled where he was, grumbling to himself and glancing back with both desire and worry at the scorched remains of Blueberry not far off. He would remain here, on sentry duty... for now, and so long as he was not left for too long alone.

Reign
He who is to be a good ruler

For a brief moment, Reign's ears twitched. He didn't like being called a 'newborn' or 'untrained youth', but he discarded the comment. Showing the discord among their Kingdom in front of Reseda was not a good idea, and so he held his tongue. Besides, he had long learned that Envy tended to speak without thinking so, even though their words rubbed his fur the wrong way, he ignored them.

However, he couldn't help but to wince at their words, bragging about having a dragon on their side. Oh, he hoped that Dread would ignore that. The dragon was not the brightest crayon in the box, for sure, but surely Dread would notice that? He was glad to see, however, that Dread seemed not to notice or, at least, seemed not bothered in the least.

Reseda addressed him, then, and the cheetah twitched his ears. He stepped back, instead, eying her disinterestedly--King Envy would never 'infect' him. He was his own creature, intending on teaching those he could. He was no child to be infested with the weasel's idealizations. "You have no need to worry about me." he addressed her, before turning to trot away, having nothing more to say.
