She was standing in her den, three stones spread out on the stone before her. It'd been a hard decision, with so many stones to give life to, but she thought that she had a pretty good idea which ones to revive now. She didn't really know what would come out of them, really, but she'd spent time with all of them for a while, casting magic to look into the depths, feeling around the magic they held, and generally just...trying to get to know them, in a way.

She'd gotten N'chard's gemstone as well from where she'd buried it in Eridanus. It rested alongside the others - the chalcedony and the jet - ready to have a second chance.

The first, the chalcedony, she pulled close. This one had been the strangest and most mysterious of the bunch, so otherworldly that she could hardly understand the life within. That would make for an interesting creature, then! She closed her eyes, excitement fueling a powerful surge of magic into the gemstone. The little shard glowed intensely for a moment, reflecting the light that was coming from the heart shape on her cheek, before both settled down and returned to their natural states.

Pleased with this first success, Wilder pawed the stone to the side.

The second stone, the ragged chunk of jet, was the next up. She pulled it close, remembering the strange vibes she got from this one as well. Not as unnatural as the chalcedony, but its character was still unlike anything she'd met before. If she had to compare it to someone, it'd be like that of Thothaga or Legion - different but not so unfamiliar.

She closed her eyes and focused, the previous spell having tired her out some. The surge of life that trailed through her leg and out through her paw was weaker then before, but the black stone glowed for a moment, the same color of pink, as it accepted the life and buried it within, dulling back to a simple black gemstone.

She purred happily that this was going so well and carefully moved it to sit next to the chalcedony.

The last stone was up now. N'chard's. The labradorite seemed intimidating to her all of a sudden as she realized what she was about to do. N'chard had been, in a way, a traitor. He'd rebelled against the masters of his time and it had gotten him killed by his own ally. An ally that she'd stupidly called from his endless sleep. Would he be safe if she gave him another chance? Would he make the same mistakes?

She pressed a paw to it and tried to urge her magic into the gemstone but something went wrong. A small spark of pain flared in her pawpad as the life rejected its path. The stone shivered and Wilder's heart jumped in her throat. Would it break?

But it was okay. Nothing had happened. The gemstone hadn't broken or even cracked and she hadn't lost herself. But as she pressed her paw to the surface again, she had the sinking feeling that she couldn't fail this again.

She took a moment to focus herself. Nothing could go wrong. If it did, the poor creature would have no more chances. The gemstone would break and she would be left with a sea of regret for this one creature, this one final creature having failed. The most important of them, in a way, would be lost.

So when she finally let magic roll through her again, it was with a calm focus. Her gemstone began to glow confidently and life melted into the labradorite. It shivered and Wilder's heart skipped a beat, but then it began to glow softly, just as the others had, before settling back down to normal.

She released the breath she had been holding and carefully moved the stone to settle next to the other three. They didn't look any different, but being near them, Wilder knew that they were more now. Full of life and potential. They would grow and develop and she would have a proper family!

She carefully stepped over the three and settled down on top of them, pushing them close to her fondly and purring loud enough to reach all the way outside her little cave.

She was so excited!
