Finally, the agate seemed to leave - with nothing to show for their presence here. Only a few words of agreement and some slightly singed feathers.

Garnet curled up tighter, using the last of its strength to draw a flood of magicka to its paws. When nothing came, it whined in frustration. Resorting to less clean methods of retreating, the champion drew a sharp breath. This would be a lot more difficult than simply burning its own body and gem into submission.

A claw carved a deep line down its wrists, much to its wincing and barely-conscious efforts. The red flow was quickly joined by another, and another. It bit at the appendage, tears pricking at its eyes and ears back, pushing blood out and forcing itself into risky unconsciousness. The sensation stung for a moment, but amniotic fluid overtook its form in peaceful bliss. With the formation of its chrysalis, it finally felt clear and clean.
