BARATHEON
"the world is mine for the taking"

A huge tunnel he had not yet investigated yet. Baratheon was game for exploring any new things and since he was getting older day by day, he was more content with traveling alone and further. Today though he was near Orion in one of the neighboring tunnels. He wasn't really doing anything in particular, just sightseeing was all. Well, sightseeing and looking to feel the rumbling in his gut. Ever since he had been shown that fleshy things could be eaten it was like an insatiable hunger had woken in him. Now he knew why Kerberos had thought of him as food and wanted to eat him. Baratheon was made of a little more stable stuff though and wouldn't allow his hunger to rule his head. Well, for the most part he wouldn't. After he tasted blood it was a little difficult nigh impossible to control himself. He shook his head. Ignoring hunger would only make it worse. He needed to eat.

After peering at the walls, admiring the things carved there. Things that looked a lot like him, he noticed a scraping sound. A rat was running nearby. If there was one thing his ears were useful for it was detecting the small noises of rats, he appreciated them more day by day. Instinctively the dragon dropped to a crouch as he followed his ears to find a rat scuttling around hunting for food. Funny how he was hunting the rats and the rats were hunting other things. No matter. They wouldn't be hunting for long. After all, less 'bounds were alright to eat and so long as he was just eating them everything would be A-OK. He approached the rat and after a careful calculation he prepared to pounce.

He made one leap and pinned the rat beneath his paws, his claws cut into the flesh of the beast and he could smell it. The salty tang of blood. Immediately his vision began to become fogged by a cloud of red. Oh no... He shook his head and blinked his eyes. Perhaps there was a way to control it. He stared down at the carcass at the pinpoint of blood he could see. Yes. This was good. He could still think... The fog was starting to redden a bit more but he could still see and think somewhat. Perhaps he could beat this... perhaps...

That was his last coherent thought before he violently reached down with his mouth and tore into the rat. He shook it like a dog would a toy, spraying blood over his white coat and across the stairs of the room. Feral growls wracked through his body as he literally tore the prey to shreds. He savored the taste of blood across his tongue and the taste or torn rat as he finally allowed it slide down his throat, piece by piece. In his feral state he licked the blood from the stairs but left it all over his coat.

It was only after he'd finished the rat and licked the blood clean that he was able to get a hold of himself. He came to and sat on his rump heavily, staring straight ahead as he blinked the red mist away. His body was shaking and he breathed heavily, sweat lathered on his coat after coming from the maddened state. "That could have gone better..." He said to himself quietly. There had to be some way to control the Bloodlust... something he could do. But what?

Graceful paws moved silently through the tunnel. Bright golden eyes searched the walls of the tunnel, studying every little divot that marked through the walls. More in particular, the monsters upon the walls near the ceiling. Her attention was pulled away when a familiar scent wafted down the tunnel. Blood. His nose twitched as she curiously sniffed at it. Someone was here hunting food. Curiously Arete moved further into the tunnel, not an ounce of fear grasping at her. She had spent most of her time exploring, learning of everything she could. She wanted to see all of Origin. To discover and find anything and everything it had to offer the gembounds that lay within.

When her eyes settled over a white beast with pink colorings Arete came to a halt in her step and took pause. Her rounded ears pushed forward curiously and in attention. She had never seen something like this creature before. Shaking it off Arete took a few steps closer and studied the creature. "Hello," She called out to it, taking a moment to decide that she was close enough. She did not want to intrude on what he was doing, but more so she did not want to put herself in a situation that would prove to be strenuous to get out of.

BARATHEON
"the world is mine for the taking"

The dragon attempted to cool himself down, he felt tired and his coat felt icky with the sweat dripping off of it. However, his attempt at magic ended in a failure as he was left feeling even more tired after the attempt. The young reptile laid down on the ground with his legs spread outwards. At least in this state he was slightly more cool.... slightly.

It wasn't until his overly large ears heard the sound of someone speaking to him that he sat up. He leaned upwards, balancing on his forepaws while his rump was still on the ground in a pose that might be reminiscent of the way some humans sat though neither of the creatures would know this. This pose was just one he chose because it was comfortable.

Both of those large ears lifted and focused towards the orange feline. His pink eyes blinked as he stared at the orange feline with his pinkish gaze. After a moment he smiled and raised a paw to wave at her. Surely the bloodlust was over and he was perfectly safe to talk to someone. Besides, he was awful lonely on his own. "Hi!" He said cheerfully. He wanted to get up onto his paws but couldn't find the energy to do so so instead he remained in his reclined position.

The older he got, the more he learned and the more things he killed he felt less like a tame little lamb and more like an older creature. Speaking in single sentences was becoming distinctly taxing and served no purpose unless he could get something out of it. Which in this case he was certain he wouldn't. "What brings you here?" He asked, still as cheerful as before.

She didn't know what she was, where she was, or where she was going, but she continued her prowl for many days after being dumped from her chrysalis. Svenna was alone from the start and hadn't seen many others with attached gems. She was young and relied solely on instincts... it was only by chance she came to reason those with stones were different from the creatures she consumed. The hyena found the ones with gems tended to holler words in her direction when she passes, quickly and without eye contact. Slowly the words would start making sense, but generally she couldn't understand a thing they were trying to communicate until moments of mental digestion took place. Only a few words were fresh in her vocabulary.

Her pale red eyes reflected the light that shone from the tunnel's ceiling, a fascinating light source that had mysterious magic of it's own. Svenna knew a little about magic, having since discovered when startled or highly emotional in a hunt her fur would start to smolder clouds of choking black plumes. It was uncomfortable but didn't hurt too bad.

Traveling through the tunnel on light paws, the hyena cub kept her head low and wide ears open. Her stomach was pinched in knots from hunger. Rats were scurrying around taunting her with their shadows, Svenna tip toed quickly towards each flickering silhouette her maw salivating from the scent of blood in the air. She didn't think too much about it, having brushed the scent off as a figment of her cruel imagination- getting a rise out of her angry stomach.

Lunging at a shadow the hyena rounded a corner and straight into a pair's conversation. Her eyes narrowed in self preservation, blood pumping through her veins loud now at the surprise. The stone at the base of her neck got warm and so did the rest of her body for that matter. A slow sizzle from her skin just below her fur and a thin stream of clouds erupted from her body as her fur began to burn. The unintended magic usage was more than uncomfortable this time around, her emotion had the charring effect last too long and the hyena girl flinched from the pain. But just as quick as it had started, it died, and she was left there awkwardly staring at two larger strangers.

Orange eyes studied unwaveringly, daring not to blink and miss a subtle movement that this strange creature may decide to make. It's ears had jumped up first and soon his entire attention was upon her. Arete offered a smile once again as the creature greeted her in a rather cheerful tone. Good, she would not have to worry about if she had walked into any danger."I am just traveling through. To see and learn all I can of the caves at this moment," She explained as she studied him. He was a fascinating creature that was for sure and she could not put a species name to him.

Idly she sniffed at him, curious to see if she would catch a scent that would help her figure out just what he was. "My name's Arete, it's nice to meet you," Her smile returned as she continued to study him. She opened her maw to say something else, to ask just what exactly he was since she could not determine on her own, but suddenly a new scent caught her attention.

A smell of burning fur drew her gaze away from Bara quickly and orange gems settled upon the newcomer. She was almost alarmed by the smoke spiraling off this creature's pelt in tendrils. "Are you okay?" She blurted before she could even keep herself from saying something. This one was a peculiar creature as well. It seemed familiar and she knew the name of what she may be, which was a relief considering she had no idea what the white beast was.

Oh no! The two strangers who were conversing had stopped, if only for a moment to acknowledge her existence. Svenna's assimilation of the spoken language was a slow... slow process. The word 'you' made sense and she could tell the orange striped cat was directing those words towards her. Svenna's heart pumped anxiously, unsure of what to do next. All she could muster out were a few snarly grunts... and with that she darted back the way she came. Taking a quick glance behind her shoulder every few meters to see if they were following her out. The white dragon was far more alarming than the striped feline. Svenna wasn't ready to face a dragon just yet, being so young and inexperienced.
