There were no more words spoken, no more chances to correct the mistakes. Everything was said and done. She couldn't take back her magic and so when it hit the mustelid head on and pushed him back, the lioness felt a sting of guilt. She hadn't quite meant to throw him away like that but he had provoked her? Hadn't he? She couldn't just sit around while her relationship was thrown back in her face. She knew this was an old friend, new this would probably sting him and yet she couldn't back down. This had been her boyfriend and he was violating that. Violating it right in front of her face... He had to know something was up now, didn't he?

Ky didn't have any more chances to think this over, to wonder what was right and what was wrong or to even apologize for her rash action. She felt something then. Felt a jolt of new emotion like she hadn't in a while. It wasn't her own anger, though she felt plenty of that right now, it was a jolt of someone else's anger. Leon's anger. That bond that they had, that linked their emotions together worked double time as she felt him approach. She knew what was about to happen before it even did. Before that roar even came her head turned and she looked. There was her friend, her confidant, her life, her Leon.

He jumped right over her and straight to Cancer. The lioness felt a jolt then, a jolt of horror as they began to fight each other. She had been angry but she could never condone fighting friends. She already felt guilty about throwing Fisher and now this? The lioness took a step forward but not too close for she did not want to get in the way of those claws. "No! Stop fighting! Please!" She didn't want this. Didn't want her dear friend and the one who she had called boyfriend to end up in conflict like this. The only reason Leon was even here to fight was because he'd picked up on her emotions most likely.

Her heart went out to the both of them as she watched the madness. Perhaps she should never even have come home.

The bear threw his entire weight at the leopard, intending to drag him down and stifle him beneath his mass, snapping jaws trying to catch onto whatever they could. In his blind fury, Leon hadn't been able to see much of what he was doing, or articulate his movements all that well - his intentions had been purely to lunge at Cancer, take him down, and bite him until he reaped vengeance for all the pain he had caused his Makyna. The cat's rebuttal was fluid, tucking down beneath Leon and using his hind paws to kick at the bear's underside. The forward motion only made it easier for Cancer to kick the bear away and launch him back towards the wall; his nails scrambled desperately for purchase, teeth snapping into empty air before Leon lurched over Cancer and clumsily rolled on the ground.

It didn't matter what Makyna or Fisher did or said at this point. He was deaf to them. He didn't see the little mustelid cowering in the corner, fearful of the fate of the black leopard. He didn't hear Makyna as she cried out to them, desperate for them to stop fighting; he felt it, the twinge of regret and fear in his chest, but it was quickly drowned out by roaring rage that swelled and burned inside of him. Leon fumbled back onto his paws and whirled around, and as Cancer parted his jaws with a rebellious roar, Leon countered with one of explosive volume, lips peeling back to reveal sharp and curved canines that hungered for the skin of the cat. Heat bubbled up from his innards, eager to spew forward into whatever vicious attack the bear could muster.

Post-Roll Edit:
And it burned, oh it burned! The pain was revolting as it suddenly shot up his throat and burned his lungs and his heart and it only made him angrier. Leon's voice rose, a deafening, furious thunder, and the pain was unbearable. What heat churned inside of him could still be felt on his breath, but no fire came from the bear's jaws - only pure, unrestrained fury. Then, his eyes fixed on Cancer, and in them there was a vehement lust for blood. Leon snarled and charged, launching himself at the cat despite the scalding and searing ache in him.

Note: Leon's charge isn't an attack, he's just running at Cancer.

Cancer wasn't as enraged as Leon was. He could see Fisher cowering, could hear the sobs. He could hear Makyna's pleas for them to stop- but he also knew this had been coming for a long time now. As Leon righted himself and roared, Cancer backed up to the edge of his ledge, and with a jerky motion, he threw himself off. Twisting mid-air, just as Leon's snarl sounded the attack, Cancer landed on the floor on all four feet. He took only a moment to look around frantically, and spotting where he'd thrown his armor the night before, across the cave, he made a run for it.

With agility only a cat could muster, he managed to slip himself into the armor mid-stride, stumbling only a little as he righted it into place on his back, around his sides. He took a hopping step as one arm caught in the straps, then freed, it was time to get out of there! I can't let him hurt anyone else! This isn't just my home anymore! He turned to glance at Leon as he stopped by an exit.

"Hey Leon! Just try and catch me!" He taunted, cementing the chase as he turned out and sprinted away- only once he was sure the bear was hot on his trail. He'd lead the bear precisely where he'd be at an advantage- and the other, a disadvantage- but where? As he ran, panicked and admittedly terrified, Cancer tried his best to take the narrowest, slickest, more dangerous routes possible... maybe Leon would slip, or tumble, or give up. Maybe he'd outrun or outsmart the hot-headed maniac...

Fisher was quite reasonably scared, so when Cancer jumped off of his ledge, the tiny mustelid realized that he was alone with a furious grizzly and a deadly lioness-- sure, it seemed like Makyna had changed her mind about all of it, but there was a good chance she would take things out on Fisher even if it was ridiculous. He had horrible luck; he wasn't about to take chances on that one.

The brown noodle, side aching with pain, glanced around for an escape. To his relief, he found a small slit in the rock face and scrambled over, wiggling his way into the dark, damp safety of the nook. He wriggled around until he could look out, but the fight was being taken away from him, and he decided that was for the best. For now, he was just going to hide and hope beyond hope that misfortune would leave him alone for once.

He felt horrible about abandoning his friend. Cancer couldn't fight that giant grizzly monster that used to be a playful, delightful cub all alone. He shivered, trying to push away his worries but they seemed to swallow him up. His throat burned with choking, distressful sobs, the pain of his wounds reopened in his wriggly, panicked moves. He could smell the blood matting his fur all along his side.

Sick, tired, and anxious, the mustelid wasn't in any mood to sleep, but he closed his eyes and did his best to block out the world.

;; fisher exit (for now?)

hope you don't mind me posting Leon, Briar! just to have him run after Cancer and exit the thread!

Almost immediately the black leopard leaped from the edge of the den. Leon was already hot on his tail, but as the feline lunged from the small ledge, he skidded to a halt and snarled. There, he saw Cancer running towards a set of armor on the ground. It hadn't really clicked to Leon what the armor was for - protection - protection against him. The cat would need it. As Cancer slipped into the armor and bolted away, Leon raced after him, turning and fumbling down the edge of the cliff. He hadn't even spared a second glance towards the now hiding Fisher, or Makyna who was surely rendered distraught by this whole affair. His singular goal was Cancer. Back on the ground again, Leon lunged after the leopard, disappearing through the tunnel entry with a furious roar.

exit Leon!
