'Where... am I?'

He was surrounded by red, red like blood, red like gemstone.

Why was he in his chrysalis? He had slept and then... and then?

And then nothing.

And that scared him. They had prisoners, ones that could harm them if they broke free, and he was a guard, his job was to protect them, to keep the prisoners from escaping. What if Blackberry had attacked while he was sleeping, while he failed his family?

So he coiled muscles, weak from ages of sleep, of rest, and lashed out, twisted and exploded his chrysalis, crashing to the ground with a snarl.
