Pride dipped his head, entirely dignified as he took the fruit, offered by an enthusiastic child, and nibbled at it. It was a very serious sort of contemplation, giving it full and perhaps overly solemn consideration. He made a bit of a show of tilting his head from side to side as he sampled the flavor, and then nodded, at last, looking to Vivilene with approval.

"You know, I think you might be quite right. I can absolutely imagine that the purple grass tastes like this--peach, you say?"

He adjusted his limbs where he lay, untangling them just a tad and relaxing there. "As for lights, food... I think there are many who would appreciate that," Pride agreed. Before he could speak further his mind sabotaged him, an abrupt mental cry wondering at the unfairness of this child being limited from speech. What was causing it? Why would such an earnest, innocent creature find itself hampered so? The only thing he could imagine was that this was how her other father lived--and at least her ability to communicate mind-to-mind seemed strong. Still, it was saddening, and he tried to keep it off his face, leaning down instead to nibble again at the peach.

"Perhaps you can ask them what they need. Sometimes it may help them just to talk," he added, dragging his mind back to the topic at hand. "Would you like to rest here? Or perhaps I can take you back to your other father?" he suggested, still unsure who that might be.

Vivilene watched, closely, because this could have been the most important theory she would ever put forward in her life, and at such a young age, too. A child prodigy, perhaps. Her tail flicked behind her as she waited, and then visibly perked up as Pride said she could have been right.

She smiled, more to herself, and wrapped the shawl around herself with a brief nod to confirm that the fruit in question was, in fact, a peach.

A faint rumble of a bleat left her throat as Pride suggested talking and asking what people needed. Still, it... wasn't impossible to try and get people to talk and find out what they needed-- if Vivilene had learned anything from not being able to talk it was that people very much enjoyed talking about themselves, and that was okay.

At worst, it was distracting from everything else.

The offer to go to her other father had her hesitating, however-- Azizos was her other father, and Attikias was her actual father. She didn't want to meet someone else new while she was tired and her head was achy. Here seemed... nice.

Unfortunately, she did not voice any of this to Pride. She shuffled on the spot. She couldn't sleep on her back like her dad, and sleeping on her side sometimes took up too much space. The only way Vivilene could comfortably sleep was thusly; rocking her humanoid torso down in front of her and planting her face into the grass.

Pride was left to process this one on his own.

Pride stared.

Blankly.

"You can-... sleep up against my side," he offered, half-bewildered, half-amused; "with your, ahh--upper torso? over my back, if you like." It would, in his mind, make the most sense and be a little less awkward and distinctly uncomfortable. He looked around, for a moment, and sought any easy solution that might be at hand.

He came up with what might be a more potentially long-term solution for Vivilene in a heartbeat, and after a brief moment's concentration, soft plant matter began to tug loose here and there from the forest floor. Most of it was already dead: somewhat-dried leaves, tangles of grass. He piled them up, over a minute or so, with his mind: a big pillow for her upper half, if she wanted it.

"Or you can use these, if you like," he offered.

Either way his own head dipped down, tucked across his forelegs, and he himself was asleep soon enough.

Vivilene's head turned, already smeared just a bit with muck and grass residue. She had no intentions of moving, really-- sleeping on Pride seemed too... intimate, perhaps, considering they'd only met that day, and she liked sleeping like this.

But, decidedly, Vivilene also liked soft things.

Her ears flicked back and then her head lifted a little as he offered out the plant-pillow for her to lay on instead. She pushed up a little and leaned over to sniff it in a surprisingly deerlike movement, for someone with a humanoid face. She looked between it, Pride, and then back to the pillow.

She shuffled towards it and planted her arms on it, leaning over. Her cheek went onto her forearms and her eyes shut over. She hesitated, testing, before she shuffled right up against it to get more comfortable.

There was no other movement or sound that came from her as she fell asleep-- just the occasional flick of her tail.
