Magic? Venti isn't completely sure what it is but it sounds right. Like it's something they've felt or know of without knowing the word for.

They tilt their head, blinking slowly and open their mouth to ask, but instead get distracted by a bug flying in front of their face, they watch it with wide eyes.

"What?!" They gesture wildly at the bug as it circles a nearby flower before landing and gently flapping its wings. "What is?!"

He smiled happily. "fairyfly!! fairyfly!!" he chirped "pretty bugs! flap flap!" he giggled, playfully flopping near the flower it was on

He's right, Venti thought, It is pretty. Venti approached slowly, afraid of scaring the bug off. They sat next to Forgraves and stared at the insect curiously.

"Eat?" They asked suddenly, jumping to their feet. "Eat, flap flap?" They aren't entirely sure why but they suddenly want to eat it badly.

He shrugged "try eat flap flap?" he suggested. he'd never eaten one either. he'd seen them before but azzy always told him to leave them alone.
"maybe taste good?" he chirped

"Yes. Ok. Eat flap flap." Venti stands on all fours, approaching the fairyfly slowly. They attempt to pounce on it and miss the first time, causing it to flutter into the air, they feel heartbroken until it flutters too close to their face and they can snap their jaws around it.

The wings are dry and sour and powdery and make them attempt to spit it out, but in their haste their teeth pierce the body and a bitter fluid coats their tongue.

The effect is nearly instantaneous.

Visions dance before their eyes, fire consumes them and glowing yellow eyes stare at them from the darkness. Their eyes go wide as the beast in the shadows, behind the fire, whispers words they cannot understand in their current state.

"I will consume you. Venti, you will not know pain like I will inflict upon you." His voice is as harsh and hot as the flames licking at their feet.

"He will come with light. He will disguise himself. Do not trust the lightbringer." A soft voice, trustworthy and quiet, calls from behind them. Her voice is melodic and they turn to catch a glimpse of the speaker, but all they see are branches.

And then they're back, facing Forgraves, the fairyfly's body at their feet. They feel sick to their stomach and they blink as the vision slowly leaves them. Fading from their memory as the life fades from the insect before them.

"Flap flap taste bad." They say finally, making a disgusted face, tongue sticking out. "Don't eat." They decide to keep the vision to theirself for now.

He watched venti catch the flap flap, chuckling for a moment, before they seem to stare off into space for a moment, and then watch them spit the fairyfly out, staring at their feet.

he nodded. "very bad, flap flap no eat" he agreed. "grass better. you feel okay? flap flap make you sick?" he asked, worried/

Venti nods almost on autopilot, still a little dazed from the hallucination.

Am I upset? No. No, and not sick. Whatever I saw was scary though...

They inhale deeply and then exhale in a heavy sigh. "Stomach...Bad? Not hurt, just, bad."

He nodded, ready to help! "okay! me try help you okay? sit still!" he mewed. he wasnt used to magic and was almost scared of his own, but 1 spell he knew was almost exclusively helpful, and he was willing to use it to help, if he could!

Forgraves did his best to summon out the magic needed to cast the spell, luckily although with lots and lots of struggle and a funny, frustrated face, he managed to cast it, hopefully helping with venti's hurt tummy

It doesn't completely erase the unease that's settled in the pit of their stomach but it eases it a bit and they find theirself distracted by the magic which causes the unease to melt away as the hallucination fades from their mind completely for a moment.

"How? What? How did?" They pause for a brief second, recalling what Graves said earlier, "Is magic?"

"I do magic too?" They ask curiously head tilted with a hopeful expression on their face.

"yeah yeah! magics! i do heal magic, get rid of bad tummy feels!" he chirped. "you do magic too! try, try, try!" he cheered, spinning in circles in his excitement.
