Mevoh was passing through the tunnel heading towards Polaris. The proud gembound walked with grace through the tunnel. As she walked through the tunnel she wondered if she should use hindsight on the spire. It was a dangerous idea, to even think of touching the spire. Mevoh respected the spire greatly, it was the life of the caves. Mevoh's goal was to discover the caves' secrets and to unravel its history. As she walked, she had no clue she was about to run into someone who knew more than she did. Of course, this encounter would not be a pretty one.

Zutar was heading to Polaris through the tunnel. Her fan of tail feathers was spread out proudly behind her. Zutar had no respect for the master known as Astraea. He was nothing but a brute. He murdered her mother, Aetius. All because Aetius knew what he used to look like before he was a deer. Astraea was a monster. He did not deserve to be called a master of the caves. He was a unjust, a monster. Zutar knew everything her mother did, especially including what he used to look like before a deer. Apparently Astraea was touchy about this information. So she would use it against him. Master or not, he was going to pay for what he did to her mother. But she needed to find her mother's stone.

Mevoh noticed a cougar and snowy owl hybrid walking in the same direction as her. Mevoh didn't know who this was, but the fact that it was half bird and half cat somewhat disgusted her. Mevoh debated whether to use her time to speak to this creature. The hybrid was obviously female. Mevoh walked gracefully, as well as glancing at the hybrid with superiority. Mevoh did not approve of things that were not avian or birds. But how to feel about something that was half bird? She did not know. Mevoh smirked at the thought of this creature being only half bird. Mevoh spoke with arrogance laced in her voice. "Well, first time I'm seeing a half bird hybrid. I've seen plenty of hybrids, but never a half bird before. How pitiful though you can't fly like true birds of prey. You are only half bird, a shame."

Zutar paused completely by the words of someone behind her. She started feeling annoyed. Zutar turned around and locked eyes with a tall bird, a secretary bird. Zutar held her dignity as she looked at the bird. This bird was vain and arrogant. Zutar rolled her eyes before she spoke. "Apparently you seem to have a pleasant way of greeting other gembounds. You look just as bad as Astraea. And he is the worst one these caves have to offer anything or anyone. But I guess I shouldn't compare you to that monster, you are still aggravating." Zutar spread her tail feathers in a show of grand gesture. She would not let this bird insult her so freely. Besides, she had two things to take care of. Dealing with Astraea, and getting her mother's stone back.

Mevoh puffed out her feathers a bit at Zutar's words. Not just because of this female daring to talk such way to her, but her insulting one of the masters of the cave. Mevoh narrowed her eyes as she spat at the hybrid female. "You DARE to insult one of the great masters of the cave! How dare you! You have no right to dare speak of any of the masters in such a way. I'd tread lightly, hybrid. Words like that can put you in a terribly deserving position." Mevoh could not believe how bold this female was. She was a gembound like her, and many others. As a gembound, she had no right to defy Astraea or any master.

Zutar scoffed at the tall bird's words. Zutar spoke the honest truth, and she did not care if the bird did not believe her or not. Zutar spoke loudly and boldly. "Ha! You speak of Astraea and the masters as if the were so great and just! The only good master I know of is called Tenzin, who is kind and pure. But Astraea, and the others you talk of are unjust, cruel, and unworthy bastards! You know nothing of what they are capable of! You see them as your superiors, and I see them as just monsters. That's all they are. Tell me, what is Astraea to you anyway, bird? My name is Zutar. A child of a cougar and a snowy owl." Zutar looked at the secretary bird. This bird was oblivious.

Mevoh eyes widened for a bit, then they narrowed again. Mevoh stood proudly as she spoke. "Astraea is my superior and a protector of all gembounds and these caves, as are all the masters, Zutar. If it weren't for the masters then these caves would have no order. My name is Mevoh, and I am loyal to every master in these caves. I hope you watch how you speak of the masters in public. As I said, you will end up in a bad position. Especially if the masters themselves heard you. Let me tell you something Zutar. Going against the masters will put your life in great danger. Maybe that happening will show you to respect your superiors." Mevoh smiled arrogantly at the hybrid standing proudly.

Zutar walked closer to Mevoh and spoke even louder. "Mevoh, you are very blind. Let me tell you a little story that is also very true. As I told you I am half cougar half snowy owl. My mother was the snowy owl called Aetius, a beautiful noble bird who spent her time researching and revealing the history and lore of the caves. Everything she found out, she explained to me. She went to Orion once and found out something very shocking. She found out what Astraea looked like before he was a deer, through a vision. Astraea found out she knew somehow, and he murdered my mother just for that. Aetius was of no threat and harmless, and Astraea killed her because of that. He is a monster. So, since I know what Astraea looked like before being a deer, I plan to use that information somehow. I don't know if vengeance is what I want, but I will find a way to make justice. I will also get my mother's stone back."

Mevoh looked surprised, but she was still loyal to Astraea and all the masters of the cave. She spoke proudly. "Well your mother should not have spoken that information of Astraea. It was not meant for her to know. So she made her own demise, by sharing that information. The only way Astraea may have found out, is if she spoke of it. Your mother caused her own death. You are a fool if you think you can simply oppose the masters of these caves. Gembounds are underneath the masters. If you wish to learn that lesson the hard way, I will find it pleasant for you to learn your place at their hands." Mevoh was curious though. What did Astraea look like before?

Zutar stood boldly. She would not let Astraea do to her what he did to her mother. Zutar spoke boldly. "I am not beneath Astraea. I am above him. I don't commit murder! He is a murderer! You think that he is so great! It's funny. He was a great creature that sat at the throne of Orion! Now he is simply a deer that prances throughout these caves! What a joke! With who he is, he deserved to have his original form taken from him. You know nothing. If you are a holder of the arcane magic, do your research on these caves like I am. You may find out some interesting things. Goodbye, Mevoh." Zutar swiftly turned around and walked off her fan of tail feathers spread behind her.
