Sheng had had somewhat of a crisis the other day.

he was getting old.

not terribly so, but compared to many of the gembound living in these caves, he could definitely be considered such. he didn't even remember most of his life either, so he was unsure of himself in every way. the caves felt suffocating. he needed purpose. he needed responsibility.

over time he had come to notice that the younger gembound of the caves, like carja or alrik, were so much kinder than their grown counterparts. stubborn and childish, maybe, but who could blame them, they were only kids.
he had enjoyed watching over carja, before she inevitably wandered off to find new people and new places, though he did worry. keeping the innocence that youre hatched with is as rare as a lesser becoming overseer. nonexistent, to an extent.

he wanted children, he knew this for a fact. but the question was always... how? he didnt know anyone, let alone well enough to ask for such a thing.

however, he had discovered another option, word of mouth he really only heard in passing. there were gems, scattered through the caves, of fallen gembound, that one could revive if intact. so, he chose to go looking.

after learning a new spell, which he thought for sure would be useful, he set out, searching cetus. and as he wandered, he breathed deeply as he prepared for the big change his life would soon hold.

Needless to say, when he detected something only right besides him, he was surprised, and excited!

looking, he.. didn't see anything, though. he looked all around, practically chasing his tail, as he felt it still close as ever.

after a few solid minutes of looking, circling, twirling and seriously considering digging, he realized... oh, curse vargas, he had detected himself. he had been wandering so long that the dirt beneath him had an actual wiggly circle in it from dragging his tail.

well then. moving on! he chuckled to himself. how silly of him. he hoped that this kind of playfulness would aid his children, maybe.

he trudged forward once again, trying again.

Sheng finds a Master level chunk of alexandrite; this strange, translucent chunk of gemstone is an emerald green under bright, fluorescent light but otherwise a dark purple-red.

he smiled, picking the gem up in his claws. he felt pride and excitement for something he hadn't even revived yet. as he wandered off, he had alot to think about.
