Effluvium was, of course, still blind. It blinked an eye, trying to ignore the stabbing pain, blearily trying to find Carja past a vision of grains. It couldn't make anything out. Effluvium was coming to realize it did not like being blind. Or sand. It was rough, it was coarse, it was irritating, and it wouldn't leave its eyes. But as it turned out, Effluvium didn't need to open its eyes. It heard Carja's 'oof', and turned towards the sound.

The creature crouched, before launching a clawed hand in Carja's direction. And slapped itself in the face. The hit jolted Effluvium. It stumbled backwards, before falling over, tripping over its own tail. Effluvium growled, and it morphed into a groan. The creature was too confused to be angry at this point. It was tired and it wanted food. It didn't see the point of fighting without food. So, it resorted to one of two things it knew how to do. Beg.

"Food." It whine-gurgled. "You fish."

"When I speak."

When I think.(Will never be used)

Round: 5/5
Attempt: slap 2.0

Madhukar had stumbled into whatever this was in a desperate attempt to avoid reuniting with any execrable figures. She just... did not have the energy for it. Which was crazy, because Madhukar was usually bursting with energy. Not today though. Not when there were so many creatures, so many enemies... she needed something familiar. She needed to get away.

So she was here. It seemed like she'd come in late, but not late enough to miss the entire thing. From what it looked like, it was Carja (she knew that one) up against some... foul creature that looked like it would feel at home in Madhukar's birthplace. Yikes.

From what Madhukar was seeing, it appeared as though Carja fought... really well.

She didn't want to think about that.

Madhukar took a seat, FAR from anyone else, and looked upon this final scene. After the buzzer sounded, while waiting for the judges' verdict, she decided to close her eyes and focus on her chest and shoulders.

Give it the ol' R, A, F, baby!

Vargas watched this match with what began with interest.

Carja--that dragon-beast from the first round--was present, and he still held eagerness to see how it performed. Then came the shuffling, eldritch mass of meat and if that wasn't fascinating potential, he didn't know what was. Six toxic eyes widened at the possibilities. Could it consume others-? Incorporate them into its mass? He hoped so. Did it lose massive chunks of itself without issue? No part of it seemed distinct, really, from the rest. What a terrifying mess!

He loved it.

But the fight itself rapidly lowered his expectations. They were, perhaps, both young. But both were clumsy, faltering, or very very unlucky.

Vargas said nothing, disappointed that the meat-monster had not roared and destroyed everyone else in the arena, sloshing around and consuming with abandon--or that the dragon-beast had not taken flight and incinerated it in strange blue laser-flame.

Oh, well. There was always next time.

He said nothing, simply watching as the fight ran to its conclusion.

Charlie - for future reference (since Carja's won anyways,) make sure you clearly acknowledge your opponent's successes and take some sort of damage or whatnot from them, even if your character is launching a counterattack against them! Attacks can't be fully blocked unless you're rolling just to block them.

The fight'd started great, with a nice show of agility from the dragon and - ah. They wore themselves out and were now flopping pathetically around the arena. Eythan nudged Shengxiao and the alarm was rung.

He stepped forwards, projecting, "good job, y'two! Carja's won this match and'll keep goin' - but, stick 'round Effluvium! You'll be fightin' yet." Then, in a more dadly voice: "take the chance to take a nap, y'two."

When all was said and done, the gryphon went off in search of a better seat. Someday he'd find one.

Carja galloped up to Effluvium and smushed herself into the mass' side, giggling happily, "That was fun!! I'll see you later!"

She watched Vargas leave and shook herself off, nearly falling over again. She toddled to the exit rather than bounded, wanting to find Svartis to curl up on top of and nap. And possibly eat (and get Effluvium something too).

"Bye birdy!!" she squawked at Eythan, then to Sheng she turned and yelled at, "Bye dragon-thing!"

The dragon fluttered off like a leaf in the wind, tail dragging along the ground as she walked, a yawn splitting her face once or twice before she left.

Exit Carja.

Well, now the battle was over, it seemed. An... interesting display. Madhukar figured she ought to follow Carja, the pretty blue. She was curious, although what about she hadn't quite decided or discovered yet.

The kitten figured there would be plenty of time to parse through her thoughts in the interval between fights. She didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing-- considering just who else had been in the audience at the Magicka Show, it was probably definitely bad and horrible.

Hopefully nobody was trying to find her. She didn't quite know where else to hide.

Effluvium rolled over. It didn't react much to Carja's head smushing into its side, save a small wheeze. Like air escaping from a balloon. It stood then, mumbling a "eat," and a "fish," to Carja.

It did not share the goodbyes Carja did. It didn't address them. It did not pay any attention to Vargas, nor did it care much, if at all, about the round coming after. It was debatable if it even understood. Effluvium's brain focused on getting to eat. It followed Carja, tired, but excited. Thinking about the food that would soon be coming its way.

"When I speak."

When I think.(Will never be used)
