Carja was getting big. Where at some point she was barely the size of a house cat, now she was growing larger and taller, her wings spanning further and further by the day. Her voice grew deeper and her claws longer, and she was no long small and adorable, no...

She was big and adorable now!

She floated on the updrafts as she coasted over Orion, the precious cargo on her back keeping most of her attention. Lass was older, now, though she hadn't grown all that much, still so small that she fit in Carja's palm. It was amazing how different they were, yet how close they'd grown. They were no less than siblings, that was for sure.

The dragon soared down to the ground and landed softly, standing on all fours with her wings supporting her as well. Old habits died hard. She still wanted to be a wyvern like her dad.

"Come on, Lass," she said, grinning, "There's a whole cave to explore!"

lass happily sat atop carja's back, tilting her head as she looked at everything, vaguely remembering this place from her hatching.

she laughed, running up to sit on carja's head as they floated, "yes! explore everything, we cannot leave a pebble untouched!" she happily and triumphantly peeped.

she held onto one of carja's horns, looking around

He had come into orion to rest, get a break from both the group and building, but he was still partially awake, happily lying in some of the orion city rubble. he had partly also been coming to inspect the architecture, see how those things were typically built, finding it interesting how after surely many years they still seemed so strong, if broken.

he heard carja's voice from a mile away, but didnt quite register it as her yet, debating in his head, it had gotten deeper, and truth be told, he hadn't heard her speak much. he saw her at the olympics, and boy was he proud of her. so big in so little time. he was so excited to have a child of his own. any day now, surely.

he did open his eyes though, to look up, and sat up, calling out happily in surprise, it WAS carja!

"ah, carja! aren't ye getting big now, lass! come down here, why dont ye, this old man missed ya!" he barked out happily.

Carja squealed as she saw Sheng, and bounded over like an overexcited puppy, bowling into him and wrapping her arms around him. She cooed and nuzzled his face happily, so happy to see him that her tail was whipping all over the place.

"Sheng!!! Oh my gosh- I meant to talk to you after the fights but then I had to go to the next one and then I had to go nap- I'm so glad you're here! I have someone you'll love to meet," she rambled, and plucked Lass from off of her head, offering her out to Sheng.

Carja grinned happily, "This is Lass! I named her after you- because such a strong little lady deserves a perfect name, right? She's my sister!"

The dragon sat down on her rump, butt wiggling happily.

Lass happily wiggled, looking at the stranger, he sounded funny! she let carja hold her in front of the kind stranger, apparently named sheng, and booped his nose happily "hello mister!!! you look funny! my name is lass!!" she cheerfully said.

she hopped onto his head, giggling. "up up!"

he happily accepted the hug, doing his best to return the favor, laughing cheerfully. "ohohoh! it's alright, carja, you're entitled to as many naps as ya little heart desires, im just a lil sorry i couldn't tell ya how proud i was!" he honked.

as she pulled back, his eyes widened, looking at lass with a chuckle. "oh, aren't ye a tiny one? 'ello lass!" he chirped, chuckling as she hopped onto his head, wiggling his head around a bit to entertain her. "why isn't she a fun little lass! heh, quite literally!" he joked.

he looked back to carja, tilting his head slightly, but not enough lass would fall off. "where ya been lately, love? feels like its been forever since ive seen ya, even with the olympics! and ya've gotten so big!" he honked.

"I found a family!" she said happily, "With the dragons in Monoceros- Blight found me in Fornax and brought me there! Then I met Svartis- he's my dad, and grandma Asimona, and Bone, and Dread!"

Carja grinned at Lass' antics, delighted that she liked Sheng as much as she did, "Gosh- everything's so great! I've missed you!"

She snuggled up to Sheng's side and curled a wing around him, tickled pink to be reunited with the one that had helped her from her chrysalis, "I am big! I only just started growing- It's weird, since one day I wake up and the ground's further away, and my wings reach further and my head's taller."

She found that her heart swelled when he told her how proud he was of her, and clapped her hands together, grinning, "Oh, speaking of... Vargas talked to me, the purple giant! He said he'd teach me things if I met him in one of the tunnels. He said I could grow stronger, so I'm going to go so I can learn to protect my family. "

she giggled happily, padding up and lying down on sheng's forehead

she yawned. nodding along with carja. "svartis big.. and cold... makes snow!" she peeped, slowly growing tired. comfy...

she curled up in sheng's comb, using it as a burrito blanket, earning her an amused chuckle. she yawned, falling asleep.

he chuckled in amusement as lass fell asleep in his comb, looking up at carja, smiling. "ah, a family? sounds like a lovely ole group, those dragons seem ta be very close-knit, very familial, wonderful, im sure!" he peeped.

he smiled warmly at carja's enthusiasm, it was nice to see her again. "i imagine it'd be very confusing if I was ta just grow a few feet in the span of a night too, i imagine makes flying in tight spaces a tad more difficult, aye lass?" he chuckled.

he enjoyed this, it'd been so long since he could last remember having friends like this, if he ever did at all. only now with the group was this changing.

he paused, after her mention of vargas. smile faltering. "aye, be careful now, love, the sentinels can be right terrifyin', don't get ya'self hurt now, alright? ya never know what those bunch will do" he warned, "though, i am quite impressed, them paying attention to ya means good things, despite their record, or so ive heard" he barked, smiling again, proudly, "you deserve it, lass!"

"Mhm! You're like a dragon, too," she said, "But either way, you're my uncle, right?"

Carja grinned happily and nuzzled Sheng's cheek, butting her head against him like a happy cat. She looked up at Sheng's warning, and nodded solemnly.

"I'll be very careful," she promised, "I'm not joining them, or anything. Vargas is going to help me learn, that's all. Like... lessons."

Well, she hoped. She would ask, and if anything happened, she could fly away. It wasn't like she was defenseless. She had her scales, her claws, teeth, and horns. Though Vargas wasn't Alrik or Efflu. Vargas was dangerous, with many eyes and magic beyond her own.

She was naive sometimes, but other times, she could be cautious.
