QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.
Comet was ready for this. Ever since she had seen the huge amounts of snow and ice in Polaris, her only thoughts were on adventuring in and finding out where they were coming from. And she was probably better suited for this than most animals, considering her thick white fur was literally made for this kind of arctic cold.
She had brought nothing with her, not because she didn't need it, but because she didn't really have anything to bring. Now was as good time as ever, so she took the first few paw steps into the swirling snow.

Comet, well-suited as she was to this exact kind of weather, would still find resistance in the form of extreme blizzard winds. Snow buffeted against her gently, at first, but every foot deeper made the storm more intense and difficult to pass through.
There wasn't anything particularly unusual yet, save for a few stray stones here and there that might provide momentary shelter and resting places.

If Comet wishes to go deeper, she must roll a 9 or higher to combat the wind.

The wind blew hard, and Comet struggled to stay on her paws. She could not fail the first part! This was an adventure, and adventures should probably last longer than a few minutes. She dug in her claws into the packed snow and tried to not get blown away.
The snow beneath Comet seemed to not be enough to keep her from getting pushed further and further back. It wasn't being sent to the entrance to Polaris, but it was a setback nonetheless.
It was calmer this way, at least; and, something - a large, charcoal-grey thing - dancing among the white, powdery snowflakes. Every shift of the wind had it spiraling in another direction, moving up and down and in and out of reach.

If Comet wishes to catch the unidentified object, she must roll a Barely Successful or higher.

Comet felt the snow under her paws slide underneath her and felt herself getting pushed back. A setback, but luckily not a big one as she was not pushed completely out of Polaris. She was determined to continue going. A small mistake like this was not going to stop her!
She spotted a grey thing drifting about among the snowflakes. Comet wondered what it was. She had to catch it! Her curiosity at what it was overrode her feelings and she jumped up to try and get it.
Catching was a breeze for Comet - and her reward was a beautiful specimen of a feather: it was broad and about two feet long with a rounded edge, completely smooth and soft to the touch. Sooty grey marked the entirety of it, save for a natural lightening towards the base of the bent quill where down replaced barbs.

Comet may roll to go further. If she goes in with her feather, there's a chance of her losing her grip on it.

Comet felt herself close in on the grey object, and looked down at her catch. A beautiful grey feather. The winds blew quite strongly, and she didn't want to lose this treasure. That meant going back and storing the feather somewhere. Comet exited the snowy area of Polaris and found a good spot. She dug a hole, placed the feather, and covered it back up. She marked it to remember its location and headed back into the snow.
Now that she had actually found something, her spirit was renewed and she felt more sure of herself. She continued through the snow.

Two - no, three sets of tracks were imprinted into the snow that Comet pushed into.
The smallest set was about the same size as the wolf's, somewhat shallow. They were distinctly feline in nature. The other pairs were far larger, following one another - or perhaps belonging to the same creature. One was heavy and nearly perfectly flat, like a five-toed dinosaur's, and the other had a semicircular shape with five divots, suggesting curled toes.
They led deeper into the storm.

There was something off about the snow. Comet narrowed her eyes and spotted the tracks that led further into the snow. This was really freaky and she felt creeped out. She lined her own paw with the smallest of the tracks, same size. Comet inspected the other ones, and could tell they were from different animals, VERY different animals. She had never seen prints like those before. What had made these tracks? She sort of didn't want to find out, but this was an adventure. So... she decided to keep going!
The prints tapered off as the storm's intensity grew. Deep as the heavier sets were, they were not immune to wind's nature to smooth everything out. In fact... everything seemed to draw to a strange smoothness.
Was the wind coming from that way... ? Or this way... ? Which direction was north and which was south? The squall formed a swirling vortex here. All of Comet's tracks had been near-instantly wiped away by the wind, so that couldn't help...

Comet must roll to not lose her sense of direction in the blinding white and end up going the wrong way.
