As she ate, Arkrael had gotten up and moved closer to her, prompting a curious look from Tamelyn when she started to groom her, cleaning off the blood from her coat, the deer made a contented
murr-ing noise, setting her head down and closing her eyes in relaxation. It felt nice to be spoiled, just a little bit. She opened one eye as Arkrael paused in her ministrations, recalling a new friend she had made.
"Yeah, I know Vazi. Last time I saw him was at the Truth or Dare game, I think." Come to think of it, she had seen them together then too. The doe pouted a bit.
"He's already grown his antlers. Mine must be really late..." Since then, though, they must have occupied different areas of the cave, as she hadn't seen him for some time. She was glad to hear that he was doing okay, at least, and that he and Arkrael had become friends.
However, when Arkrael confessed that they were close, Tamelyn glanced up at her, worried.
"Close like...like you and me?" She certainly didn't remember Vazi at their hatching. Arkrael couldn't have found herself another hatchmate, could she? She wouldn't replace her...right? Granted, Tamelyn had several friends too, but none of them were really as close to her as Arkrael was. Fisher was probably the closest second, by virtue of their similar magical abilities, but even he wasn't quite as special to her as Arkrael was. Was it really possible that Arkrael had found a new best friend?
