It was right then when she realized, no matter how big she made the bubble, it would probably not be able to lift heavy things. But that didn't mean she didn't have an idea! Completely abandoning her bubble idea, she decided that it may work if she walked on top of the ice currently in place, add water, and wait for it to freeze! The current temperature was so cold she was sure that it would work. But she was a bit thirsty from using all those previous spells, so rehydration was needed.
The air must've held too much moisture, because it seemed Comet absorbed TOO much water. She didn't feel very good, and walked far, far away to barf. After a good long disposal of everything in her stomach, she felt better again.

Now that she was hydrated, maybe even more so, she was ready to begin the process. Comet climbed onto one of the pieces of ice and took a deep breath. She was ready to do this! She had not quite accounted for the fact that since the water was hotter than the ice it would be the other way around and the ice would melt. So in the end, the spell worked, but her strategy didn't. "Aw darn."

Esther watched the pup scuttle around like a flea in someone's fur. Whatever she was doing didn't look like it was going to work anytime soon. Maybe offering their own theory could help, but it didn't look like the pup could do much with ice and Esther certainly couldn't themselves.

"Can you freeze water with your magic?" they questioned.

Comet listened to the wolf's suggestion. "I wish, but I haven't learned how to do that yet." If she could freeze water that would have made everything much easier. She looked at the ice blocks, then back at the wolf. "Maybe you are strong enough to help me lift some of these?" she asked. Maybe it was time to revert back to her original plan.

If the kid could freeze water that would have made things so much easier, and then Esther wouldn't have to watch the small thing struggle so hard. It was amusing, but after a while they would just start to feel bad. Their ear flicked at the question. We're they even strong enough to move one of those things? They didn't think so. Just one knock to the leg could send their bone shattering and completely ruin their complexion.

"I don't think so."

Comet couldn't believe it. Such a big wolf and they couldn't even move an ice block? She wondered why they were even watching her anyway. "Well any way you can help?" If they were going to just stand there they might as well do something.

Esther didn't particularly care about anything they couldn't burn, this awful powdery stuff being one of those things. The wolf, was another. Of course Esther could burn her, but what was the point? Those flames would be quickly dashed out with the wolf's own water spells. Though their brain was screaming at them to humor that idea. To create toast out of another being. Esther tried to shove that thought as far away as possible.

"Depends on what you want." the leggy maned wolf with wings replied.

Comet could tell that the winged wolf was thinking of something, but she couldn't tell what. Either way, he was willing to help, no matter how weak he seemed, and that was something at least. "Change of plans. Since we can't build up, we are going to dig down." she paused, "You can dig, right?"

They stared at the other gembound a moment, brain still screaming at them to set something on fire. And we'll fire they did. They felt it before they saw it - a claw catching flames without them even casting the spell. Not in that much of a panic, Esther shoved that claw into the snow that had built up in the area.

They sat there a moment watching the smoke cascade off of that claw when they pulled the claw out of the snow.

"What did you say?" they questioned - Fire was fire, and Esther always payed attention to fire.

Comet said nothing as she watched the wolf's paw go up in flames. But they seemed unbothered, like it was a normal occurrence, and just stuck their claw in the snow to put it out. The fire didn't seem natural, and she didn't feel any heat coming from it. "Well, um, you want to help me dig?"
