((GART TESTED ME AND NOW YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR CRIMES YOU LITTLE N U G G E T))
Madhukar recalled that one creature at the end of the Magicka portion of the Olympics who went and trashed all over magic.
It had been... interesting.
It seemed the creature itself hadn't been great with magic either. Madhukar found there was probably no use in being bitter. Originally, she'd wondered if perhaps she should visit that creature (Kalama, was it?) where it said it would be. For a lesson, she'd originally desired, in combat. Now Madhukar was already here, investigating these freezes, trying to get her brain back on track anyways.
Why not stop by for a visit?
Originally, the plan had been not to use her magic for as long as possible. To get better without it. But with all this energy pulsing through her veins, Madhukar was beginning to rethink that idea...
"KALAMA?" she called, unsure of the name. "COME OU' AN' FIGHT ME!"
'Kalama', if that was the name she was looking for, didn't seem to be one for turning down a fight.

Kalama had been sitting nearby the spire. She had been fuming after her loss in the magicka competition. But even still she was apprehensive when she heard a tiny voice call for her. She wasn't sure she wanted to fight what sounded like a child. She stood, with a shake of feathers. She pattered off to find the source of the voice. And sure enough, it was a child. A kitten, by the looks of it. Without the weird dragon bits Bug had.
"Fight you?" She snorted. "You're short. How..how old are you? Are you even Bonebound?"
She clucked in thought. Alright. If the kitten wanted a fight, she'd do it. She'd fight a child. "I'm not against training a child. I'll beat that magicka propaganda outta ya! Teach you to be a real warrior! Show me what you've got tiny!" She said. Kalama spread her wings, body lowered. Ready for the kitten to begin her assault.

To her surprise, Kalama was there. And responded! Madhukar wasn't even sure why she was surprised? Well, actually, no, it was a little weird that this crazy creature was just... waiting here by this giant rock all this time. Had it been here since the Olympics?! That had been half a cycle ago!
What wasn't nearly as surprising was the fact that Kalama didn't seem to remember who Madhukar was. That was fair. Madhukar's act was barely a pigeonhole in her own mind it had sucked so MUCH so that checked out. All the kitten -- well, cat now -- did in response to those near-insults was flick an ear and look annoyed. Something about 'Bonebound'? "Who?"
Madhukar wasn't gonna say anything about her age, or her name. It looked like she didn't have to. Kalama was already somehow roaring to go. Maybe the sudden willingness to fight an actual child should've come across as one red flag over the limit of how many Madhukar could tolerate, but she wanted this. She wanted to taste victory in one of these things, for once. And if she couldn't do that now, she at least wanted to be prepared to do it later... perhaps the next time she saw any stupid idiot brats. She had the faces in mind.
Madhukar began with a charge -- she attempted to zigzag towards Kalama and pounce, arms outstretched.

Kalama frowned. The kid didn't know of the Bonebound. Not a good target. Not-not that she'd ever target a kitten! She was a fighter, but she wasn't a child murderer. That was part of her own morals, she was sure. "Nothing you need to worry about. Just know they're jerks."
"Haw!" She clucked as the kitten pounced upon her, with more force than she'd thought possible from such a small thing. After a few half steps, the chicken fell over. A half wheeze, half laugh wormed its way out of her. "Good job fluffy! Y'know, you wouldn't be a bad addition to my warband. How would you feel about beating up idiots. Once you complete my training, you can beat anyone you want up!" Unlike what stupid Eythan and the Bonebound had said.
HER warband could beat or kill anyone they wanted! But the killing part might scare the kitten off before Kalama had a chance to indoctrin-train. Train her. It was a perilous thing to bring up, regardless. And the fact that, well, she didn't have any volunteers yet. They'd come! Eventually!
The kitten had had room to think about her offer, and that was enough time for Kalama to try and sneak in a headbutt. She drew her head back. Preparing to knock it into the tiny kitten's skull. But the drawback was too sharp, and her head hit rock. She winced, feeling a bruise that was surely blossoming.

The Bonebound were jerks, according to a chicken that couldn't shut its mouth for even a second. Noted.
Surprisingly, Madhukar's attack landed. It had been sloppy (thanks paw), but Kalama seemed... huh. Not overtly critical of that fact? Called her fluffy -- Madhukar winced -- and then... offered to teach her. Madhukar really like the sound of being able to beat up anyone she wanted. She had so many idiots in mind she'd love to get back at, but one in particular stood out among the crowd. Madhukar almost smiled at a fantasized scenario wherein she taught that idiot The Cat the meaning of 'beginner's luck.'
But... Kalama didn't like magic at all, the speech at the Olympics made that abundantly clear. Kalama's quips reinforced that idea. Madhukar didn't know... if she could go on without her magic. Maybe one lucky pounce made it seem like her paw wasn't that great of an issue, but in all honesty it was with these up-close-and-personal fights. Madhukar's magic helped her work at range. Getting some help in this area would be useful but having to commit to it?
Would her own magic even allow that?
"Soun' cool buh I--" Whoop, attack incoming, cancel all perilous thoughts for later! Except it didn't seem to be working so well. Madhukar wanted to keep the chicken down.

"What do you mean 'buh'?" Kalama said. She frowned again. "You dont wanna be a champion fluffy?"
The kitten weighed kalama down, and she wheezed. It actually took the breath out of her lungs. She couldn't help but be shocked. A kitten. Was keeping her down. She couldnt help but imagine, what if Kalaziel saw her being held down. Okay, that was enough. This kitten was strong, but it was time for Kalama to show them what a real master fighter looks like.
Kalama brought her legs in, then attempted to PUSH the kitten off of her. But couldnt find a grip. What was this kitten made of!?
"You're good kitten!" Kalama said, louder than necessary. An attempt to out-volume her failings. If the cat was so good.. what that hesitation from earlier..."What, are you afraid of fighting? Afraid of being in a warband? I can teach you not to be a wimp!"

Madhukar was surprised by how... weirdly incapable Kalama was at fighting back. Was she getting lucky? Or Kalama unlucky? Or was the true reality that Kalama was not as skilled in combat as had been advertised...? Madhukar had no way of knowing. She wasn't really sure what was going on, or what to do next. Fighting was truly not her forte. Her balance, a key factor in combat, was never and had never been good.
She decided to focus on Kalama's words, which, to an expert was an obviously dumb decision. Madhukar, again, was no expert. Kalama said she was 'good', as in, at this. 'I'm really not,' she thought, although saying it would've been too embarrassing because then she would've had to say why. The chicken was loud, and Madhukar's ears twitched at the volume. And the chicken was also parroting (haha) the way Madhukar talked (or, rather, failed to talk). That was annoying! That was all so annoying! Why did Kalama feel the need to talk like that?!
The most annoying part was the questions. They hit a mark. Why was she afraid? Madhukar knew. She didn't know how to explain though, or if she even wanted to. Maybe she should just... show Kalama? She felt aggravated enough by the chicken, even though her curiosities dulled that feeling down a generous amount.
Madhukar focused, trying to pull together both an attack plan and a demonstration, all in one move. "I no wimp. Jus... I don' know wha t' do. Like, righ' here! Bite? Hol' down? Why? I coul' jus' do this..." Madhukar would open up her jaw and try to drop an electroball on the chicken beneath her.

"Yeah, bite! Whats...uh, wrong with that?" Kalama tilted her head. She didn't know what the kitten was getting at. Until the kitten's mouth opened. A small, hairy ball falling out. No, that wasn't hair. That was electricity. A ball of electricity. The kitten spat out a ball of electricity. She didn't process the betrayl until the electroball hit her neck, and she let out a scream. A combination of betrayl, pain, and anger. She didn't know what kind of spell that was, but Kalama knew it was one thing: "MAGIC!?" She shouted. "LIAR! BETRAYER!" She said, even though the kitten had never said she was a non magic user. "Little brat!"
The Bonebound were sending asassins now!? Was she that much of a threat?
She tried to scramble away, throw the kitten off, anything. All she succeeded in was scooting the two of them back further. The kitten was so...strong. Was this what it meant to be in the presence of someone truly powerful?
"You--you're just a shitting cat posing as a kitten! You did it to get closer to me, huh?" She snorted, then raised her beak to the sky. Letting out a loud cry of: "Assassin! Help!"

Madhukar openly winced at Kalama's reaction. This creature... so loud. So brash. So... so incapable of getting out from under her, what was with that?! All this time, Madhukar had figured she was a pretty bad fighter. I mean, she'd gotten beat by The Cat after that demonic thing had just hatched! She had obvious weaknesses, she had no training and no idea what to do or where to go or how to move!
Was Kalama just that... sad?
Madhukar's eyes softened in confusion and... maybe sympathy. Was that what that was? Was it pity? Or a minor disappointment, as though Madhukar's expectations had been betrayed by Kalama's display of weakness? It was hard to tell. It was hard for even the feline herself to tell. "I no assassin. Jus' came t' learn." Again, someone called her a 'cat'. Madhukar didn't know what that meant, or what it was, but she really didn't want any association with that little brat who called itself 'Twisted'. Gosh, what a dumb name.
Madhukar still didn't know what to do, especially not now. Should she back down...? Let Kalama win now, just so she wouldn't have to be accused of what several others had done to her?
Or should she give this chicken the rightful punishment for yelling expletives in her face?
Maybe she should just... end this fast and get away. Was there a way to silence Kalama, to incapacitate her and go? All Madhukar could think of was knocking the wind out of Kalama again.
So that's what she would try to do, using two paws and the 'magical' force of gravity.

Kalama struggled beneath the kitten. She wanted up. She wanted the kitten off of her. And when her eyes caught the kitten's again, she saw the cats eyes. Pitying. The cat gave her...the best fighter the caves'd ever seen a pitying look. And Kalama was flooded with rage.
"How dare you pity me you little brat! What do you MEAN you're not an assassin!? You came to learn by spittin magic on me? You're a liar--a lyin cat!" She growled. "You got some nerve you little--!" The cat's paw raised, and Kalama wasn't expecting much. It was a kitten, after all. But when the cat's paw came down, it came down hard. It hit the chicken's chest, with force rivalling Dread's, and the chicken wheezed with the impact. Kalama coughed. "What," She wheezed again. "What are you!? You--you little monster!"
Kalama brought her feet under the cat, less careful this time. Less gentle. Fully convinced this was an assassin, and not a kitten. "Get off of me!"
