QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.
It was just a normal day in Eridanus for the young pup, who decided that they wanted to eat some yummy fruits. Fruits, not berries. She wanted the kind that grew on trees. And so, with a little skip in her step, Comet looked around for some fruits. Many of the trees were not fruit bearing trees, and the ones that she did find were not the kind she liked. That was when she stumbled upon the watermelon tree. Of course it was not literally watermelons that grew on the tree, they just looked like watermelons. Many of the fruits had fallen on the ground, and emitted a sweet smelling aroma. Yum! The only problem was, the fruits were too high up, and wolves could not climb trees. She paced around the area, trying to think of a solution.
The tree was tall, but it also had branches. Perhaps she could use them to try and pull herself up? That might work, but before she did that, she would have to make sure that in case she fell there was a back up. Maybe falling into water. That would do the trick since water was softer than the ground. Comet positioned herself in the right spot and tried the spell.

She was going to get that fruit, no matter what! But now she was feeling a bit tired and and decided to give herself a refresher, a break, that was what she needed. After that she would have to find other ways to whack the delicious looking green fruits off of the tree. She laid down and leaned against the tree. Comet felt the water absorbed through her skin, and it felt good.

Okay, now it was back to trying to whack those fruits off the true. She wondered if she would be able to hit them off? There was one spell that she was still practicing, but it might work. It was time for a less physical approach. The heavy stream of water was strong, but not very well practiced. Comet needed it to be more accurate, but even that small stream dehydrated her greatly, as the water was supplied from her own body.

Greatly dehydrated, she took once again another break. Those fruits were harder to get than she thought they would be, and her morale was low. Why did it have to be so hard to just knock some fruits off a tree? But she was too thirsty now to do much, and a drink of water from the already depleted air could help.

Since the air was already greatly depleted of its own water, it did not do much to help Comet's thirst. That meant drinking water-- the non magical way. She noticed that sometimes she did rely on magic too much to do things for her. Following her senses led her too a small puddle. Perfect for the pup, it wasn't like she needed to drink too much. Her thirsty tongue lapped up the water gratefully and soon the puddle was drained.

Tracking her own scent trail back to the tree, she looked up once again at the fruits that have evaded her so far. They were in for a perilous day. Shifting her body so she was sitting with her head pointed at one of the fruits, she prepared herself to try shooting them off once again. Hopefully this time her aim would be more lucky. She would need it.
This time, her aim was true. The fountain of water hit the fruit straight out of the tree and fell to the ground where it cracked. Comet lapped up the insides, delicious! And finished the whole thing before returning home.
