Luckily, Comet managed to kick themself up to where it was made easy for Kaimana to accept their weight. Now for the harder part. The added weight of a child wasn't too much for Kaimana to bear -- she was a tough jaguar -- but she'd have to adjust fast so she could get this kid out of the water as soon as possible.

Kaimana bore the burden for them both all the way to the isle. There, she dropped off Comet. "Okay, it's okay. We're safe now. Are you alright Comet?" She crouched beside Comet, scanning the child with keen eyes. Kaimana was breathing decently hard, but the jaguar knew that she herself would be alright.

Comet heaved a sigh of relief as Kaimana dropped her off on the island. She coughed up some water recollected her thoughts for a moment. She had been too bold to think that she would've been able to make it all the way from the shore to this island. "I'm all right." she replied, but she felt a sort of ache in her chest. "I think I swallowed too much water." She vomited out a load of water which was immediately followed by a dizzying headache. Comet laid down on the ground to stop things from spinning, as her headache got worse.

Kaimana nodded solemnly at Comet's affirmation of wellbeing. It would seem, however, that Comet's statement would not match up with the truth! That was a lot of water to spit back up. The jaguar grimaced. "Indeed you did!" was all she could manage to respond with. In that moment, she began to question whether the decision of swimming to this island had been a good one or not. The answer came rather simply: it had not been.

"Perhaps we should conclude our swimming lessons for today, Comet. You've been pushed passed your limit it seems! And for that I apologize." No way was she going to give this child another swimming challenge after they'd nearly drowned. "You should probably spend the rest of today recovering. But don't see this as a failure! The growth you've shown in less than a day is really something to marvel at, and you should be very proud!" 'And also very tired,' she added in thought. Kaimana wouldn't be surprised if Comet decided to take a very much deserved nap right about now.

Comet did not argue with the jaguar about continuing. She herself agreed that she had been pushed past her limits today. Swimming to an island was not at all like the short swims out an back. You had to keep up your endurance the whole way through, and she had not practiced enough for that to happen. That was okay though, she hadn't expected to be a master at swimming on her first day trying it.

"Thank you! I think I'll rest here for a bit. I can return on my own." A shore on the other side of the island was very close, and she was sure she could make it. The wolf smiled at Kaimana, "I'll visit you later, perhaps check up on that rock of yours!" And with that, Comet curled up and fell asleep.

Kaimana grinned at the idea of the little Comet returning. For another lesson, to check on her rock, all grand ideas. Her grin turned into a softer smile as Kaimana noticed the child begin to fall asleep. It seemed as though her work here was done for today. She wondered what favor she would ask of Comet later on. A nose... and water magic. Comet hadn't mentioned water magic as a thing they could offer at first. Now, Kaimana wondered what they could do with it. Perhaps a demonstration was enough of a payment, or maybe... depending on what it could do, she could use it for something productive, maybe even fun!

That would be a matter for later though. Right now, Kaimana too was tuckered out. A nap sounded like a good idea. So, in her own space, Kaimana would curl up and rest. She'd keep an eye open though, just to watch over Comet and make sure everything was okay.
