This was something that she had not accounted for. Not only was the hunting strategy different in Monoceros, but so was tracking. It was a little disappointing that her nose would not be of as much use as her eyes, since smell was the keenest of all her senses.

Following the dragon's instructions, she spotted the rabbit that they had pointed out. Staying close to the ground, Comet kept the the parts in between the hills, and finally made her way to just below the rabbit. Be quick! Bunching, up the muscles in her legs, she sprung at the rabbit.

Landing right on top of it to prevent it from moving, she gave it a swift bite on the neck. Dead. "I did it!" It was her first catch in Monoceros; a victory to be remembered. Comet picked it up in her jaws to show Carja.

Carja gasped and grinned, clapping her hands, "You did it!! Come on, let's go eat! I'll meet you back once I get James something!"

She took to the air and picked up the Kyte in her hind talons before shooting off, wings flapping to carry her off quickly. She disappeared soon enough, having dove down somewhere, her scent being whipped away by the constant winds.

"Okay! See you there!" Comet watched Carja fly off and disappear, and the wind blew away the rest of her scent trail. Now that the dragon was gone, she would have to find the way back on her own. She had a vague idea of which direction she had come from, and it seemed her memory was better than she had thought. Using several outcroppings of rocks as landmarks, she made her way back without much problems.

"I'm here!" She entered the through the small hole in the ice.

Carja landed in the ring and set down a handful of fruit on the ground before setting the Kyte down too. She nudged James awake before excitedly tearing into her Kyte, before picking it up in her jaws and just swallowing it whole. Yum!!

"That was amazing!", the dragon praised at Comet, "You were so good out there- I've never seen anyone catch a rabbit like that, not even dad! And he's bigger than I am!"

Clearly, size didn't matter when it came to talent.

James' head shot up and he grumbled something before glancing at the two, and then at the fruit. He perked up and looked up at Carja, ears perked up.

"Thank you," he said, digging in happily, before looking at Comet, "I'm sorry I fell asleep, I was just... suddenly exhausted. My apologies. What did you two do?"

He shook out his head and ruffled his feathers, thankfully back into place. He stretched them out wide before folding them back up, sighing happily. This was nice... a lovely outing with his daughter, and a nap! Naps were always good.

Comet beamed at Carja's praise, "You were really good too! I can't believe you caught a Kyte. I've never caught one of those before. And you're flying was..." she thought about a word that would be fit to describe something so-- "amazing." That had been her favorite part, actually, flying.

"It's okay. We went hunting! Carja caught a Kyte and I got a rabbit!" Comet held up the rabbit in her mouth. It was a good rabbit, her first catch in Monoceros. She settled down on the ground on got to work on eating the rabbit, making sure to rip off the pelt which could be used later.

Carja preened happily at the compliments, ruffling her wings as her chest puffed out, "Ah- well I have more experience and an advantage, is all. You are a fantastic hunter too! I never would have caught that rabbit, even if I were as fast as you."

She lay down and nodded to James politely before watching Comet skin it, "What are you doing?"

Was Comet picky or something? She'd never seen anyone skin a rabbit before! Not unless they didn't want to eat it.

James hummed and nodded, looking away as the two ate, though he couldn't deafen himself to the tearing of skin and ripping of flesh. Ugh... he would never get over that.

"It sounds like you two had fun," he noted, "I always thought that dragons were a bit more... brutish? I suppose. I'm very pleased to see that I'm wrong."

He smiled and dug into his fruit, "And I'm glad your reputation precedes you. Soon enough you'll be known as, 'Carja the Kind'. You'll have a title!"

He laughed gently, eyes crinkling. This... this was nice.

Comet was happy to share her knowledge on the art of skinning rabbits. It was one she had learned from Aristotle, who was quite skilled at such things. "I'm skinning the rabbit. When you dry the skin, it can be used as a blanket, and many other things! It's very soft and warm too."

She showed Carja the cuts she made on the underside of the rabbit. "You can try it on prey if you want, I'm not sure if it works on animals that are not rabbits though." The pup lifted the pelt off the rabbit and laid it on the ground with the fur side down to dry.

Comet nodded in agreement with James's statement. Although dragons looked really fierce, maybe they were all nice. But she had only ever met Carja, who might be the nicest dragon. The other ones might actually not be that friendly.

She laughed with them, this mini adventure was nice. James was always fun to explore with. What if they could explore like this forever? Never living in one place, and journeying through all the caves? It would be a good life. But then she felt a sudden surge of sadness. Comet would miss Sun and Aristotle if she did that. She shook her head to rid it of such thoughts and gave a big yawn.

Carja watched Comet intently, head cocked. She nodded her head and prodded the fur, cooing.

"I'm going to do that! I don't really get cold, but I like being warm and I love soft things! I'm going to add furs to my hoard!", she exclaimed, and looked at James, a flush rising to her cheeks.

"Carja the Kind?", she repeated, before looking away, rather embarrassed, "Oh- I don't need a title, Carja's just fine. It would be nice, though!"

She was so... gracious. She turned back towards them and smiled, eyes scrunched happily. She lay herself down and played with a stray stone, batting it gently between her paws. She'd have to leave soon, but for now, this was okay.
