Comet paced along the shores of Fornax, waiting for something, anything interesting to happen. She wondered if Kaimana was around, perhaps another swimming lesson? The fish swimming around in the water were too boring, too easy to catch.

But that was when it hit her. What if-- NO. But she just couldn't get the thought out of her head. What if there were a fish that huge. Would it be possible for her to catch one? A legendary Redfang Comet would need help of course, she would have to wait for someone to appear in case she got in trouble. Hopefully whoever did wouldn't think she was crazy or something, luckily her close friends tended to be as crazy as she was, that's why they're friends, right?

Carja circled up above like a bird, spinning and falling and flying up again, having so much fun in the air that she could barely breathe. She fell down again, wings all over the place, catching herself at the last minute only to squeal to a halt, seeing Comet in her path. She gasped and tumbled over herself, tumbling over the ground and landing in a messy heap.

Her head poked up and she grinned, "Hi Comet!!"

She gathered herself up and stood, shaking herself out and coughing, "I didn't see you there, are you okay?"

Comet had not really expected any of her friends to show up, Fornax wasn't a frequented place. But sure enough, Carja nearly crash landed right at her but luckily she caught herself and tumbled over. "Hey Carja!" This day was starting to get exciting. "Yeah, I'm fine. Are you okay?" The dragon was the one that had crash landed after all.

"Huh-? Oh, yeah! I'm fine! I crash land all the time just for fun," she explained with a grin, "That isn't even my worst one! I had bruises all up my back one time because I landed on some rocks- that hurt a lot but it was funny to see Svartis when he saw it! Svartis is my dad, he's the big black ice dragon in Monoceros."

Carja, bless her heart, remained entirely unaffected by anything and everything that seemed to have happened with the Golem, though the burns on her body hadn't yet healed, the scales still scorched. Many had fallen out, but they would regrow eventually.

"Hey- you were at the raid! Are you okay after all that?", she asked, eyes widening in worry, "How's your dad?"

Comet wasn't surprised to hear that Carja crash landed for fun. She flinched at the rock part though, that didn't sound good. She herself did a bunch of crazy things! Fighting a Golden Charger snake for example. They were never on purpose, but she never did understand why the most dangerous things always happened to her. The snake really did look like a fruit!

"Oh really? I should meet him sometime!" With Carja already really big, Comet couldn't imagine how big her dad would be, but, an ice dragon? That sounded cool!

Oh, the raid. That was... not a good event. "I'm okay, luckily. Renny, well, he's recovering. I think he'll be fine though." Comet looked up and down Carja's body, which seemed to be damaged in every way possible, but she still seemed to be fine. The dragons were a big part of that raid, there were a LOT of dragons there actually. "How about you? Is your family okay?"

The dragon nodded and puffed out her chest, "Heck yeah!! I'm gonna have some cool scars after this!"

She turned and showed off her damaged hide and scales, grinning even wider, "These ones are gonna come back super pale and shiny- it's gonna look so cool!"

Carja turned back around and slapped her front feet down, belly on the ground, "But!! I'm glad your renny is okay- sorry I called him dad. My family is..."

She looked down, smile faltering, "... Bone broke a leg and like... set herself on fire, and I think Svartis got a whiff of those spores. I dunno if he's okay, he doesn't really show a lot of emotion. Wyvern's fine? I think."

She shook her head and plastered her smile on, "I gotta stay strong for 'em. 'Cause, y'know. I'm their protector!"

"Wow! I can't wait to see them!" It seemed Comet and Carja shared a liking for doing dangerous things and getting cool scars. "I have a cool one too! I got this one from being struck by lightning!" The pup turned to show the dragon the web like pattern of her lightning scar.

Comet nodded to Carja's apology, and pricked her ear to listen carefully to her response. "Oh, I hope they're going to be okay." The injuries that the dragon's family sustained sounded horrible. "If you, or your family, ever need help you can find me in Eridanus or Orion." she offered. It wasn't like she was big enough, or powerful enough to do much, but she would do whatever she could to help.

"Yeah. I'm going to have a sibling soon, and, I sometimes wonder if I will be strong enough to protect them, you know? James trusts me to take care of them but... what if I can't?" Comet lapsed into silence, just thinking about it. She Carja thought alike. They both had to protect their families, but sometimes she wondered that no matter how hard she trained, she wouldn't be able to.

"I should probably stop worrying. Let's do something happy!" Comet didn't want to dampen her friends spirits with her own worries. The dragon probably already had enough on her hands.

Carja oohed over the scar, throat flaring out, "Thats so cool!!!"

She pranced forward and squealed, "Oh my gosh- oh my gosh!! You're gonna have a sibling?? That's so great!! I'm gonna have a cousin soon- Wyvern just gave life to a stone!!"

She whirled around and grinned, tail wagging, "But c'mon! Let's go like... swim!!! Yes!"

Carja darted over to the waves and threw herself into the air before tucking in her wings and grabbing her feet, cackling in delight before she splashed into the water. Bubbles rose from her mouth before she swam up, gasping and laughing again.

"Come on!", she cried.

Comet squealed when the water from the large cannon ball drenched her fur. She was wet now, there was no point waiting any longer! Heeding Carja's words, she took a running jump, and dived headfirst into the water. Being so small, she barely made a splash in the water.

The small bubbles floated up towards the surface from her nose, and she turned onto her back, looking up at the rippling surface of the water. It was so calm down here, the water muffling all the sounds around her. A slight pain in her lungs reminded her to swim back up towards the surface, and she broke the water with a happy bark.

"We could catch some fish! Wonder if there are any really big ones?" Comet offered up the idea.

Carja crowed and nodded wildly, "Oooh!! I hope so!"

She ducked her head under and blew out bubbles before raising it again, "What if... we found a Redfang? They're big and have huuge teeth! I fought one when I was little with a creature named Effluvium! They're my friend, I ought to get you two to meet!"

She surged from the water and flapped her wings, managing to gain altitude, "Let's go see if there are any!"
