"It stops magic from happening," he grinned, popping back up. "Magic just-- freezes! Like a failure, even if they would have been able to cast it in the first place." Tahi-shei poked at her gently with one of his hooves. "I think it'd work on pretty much any spell. It can help keep me safe, but also not actually hurt anyone in exchange."

Stops magic from happening?! Huh. That seemed more like a defensive spell to Madhukar. It was mildly flashy, Tahi was right about that. Still very cool!! Madhukar wondered, briefly, if she could do such a thing with her own magic. She didn't doubt it, but she wasn't about to try. She had entirely forgotten about her first moments as a freshly hatched kitten, having used that exact spell on Sniffles. It hadn't done anything then, had barely even existed in her mind space. It didn't hold any real significance now, especially since she'd forgotten about it, and was still in the act of forgetting.

"Is good, Tahi! Fits yo'." Madhukar couldn't imagine the deer actually hurting... anyone. Especially not with something as ferocious as electricity. To pick it up from her, by following his own theories, that made sense. But to develop something painful...? Of his own volition? No, that wasn't very Tahi-like. Interesting that he could prove that there were less painful usages for electricity however. "Why i' go for stone?" That was a weird thing she had noticed. Had Tahi been aiming for her stone? That was, indeed, where her magic was stored. So... did all magic respond to electricity that way? "Does magic no like electricity?"

Tahi-shei laid down to be closer to eye level, his eyes still bright with excitement. "I mean, we're pretty much totally held together by magic. The magic in our stone is what decides the element we're best with, right? I'm pretty sure we cast magic from our stones, too. I think it's like... if you were to hit someone and it surprised them so bad that they froze up for a second, but less painful and more in regards to magic." He gestured vaguely towards her with his antlers, being careful not to gore Madukar on them.

"I don't think electricity can not like magic. I think that would be counter-intuitive, 'cause electricity is magic, at least when you or I make it. I think it's just that electricity -- well, it shocks you, right? Even with low-level zaps, they don't so much hurt as they do startle you." At least, in his limited experience with latent static electricity. "It's like, I'm startling your stone so it stops casting magic, I think."

Tahi's explanation cleared things up. So it was offensive in the sense that it scared magic, because on top of being wildly painful, electricity was also just... shocking. Capable of giving a spook. A whole plethora of pains contained in one instrument. Alright. And yeah, electricity couldn't possibly repulse raw magic -- how could that be, when magic could become electricity? Made way more sense than Madhukar's first theory. That first theory felt kind of silly now. Her first impulse then became to separate herself from the creation of that nonsensical theory, but she knew that, one, she couldn't, and two, there was no external judgement here so there was no real reason to. So Madhukar just let it go.

"Make sense," Madhukar declared, nodding her head. And then a pause, where she glanced down at her paws, and then back up to Tahi. She figured allowing him to explain something had cheered him up enough (nerd), and he'd shown her what his new spell was, and he'd even practiced it! So... "Wha' now?"

He shifted a little. "Umm... that's all I had to show you," he admitted. "We could keep practicing or talking for a while, or we could just go home. It's up to you, I guess." He looked back to the generator. "I could tell you about this thing! Well, what I figured out from watching it. I think it powers the cave lights, isn't that cool?" He grinned, glancing back to Madhukar. Knowledge was always exciting.

Madhukar thought about the options and then-- oh? There was something about the humming thing in the water? Tahi thought it powered the lights? Madhukar's brows raised a little at that. Now how did this colossal nerd come to that theoretical conclusion? Madhukar suddenly felt the need to know. Agh-- Tahi really was did have a gravitational pull for her attention. What was the deal with that?! "Power th' cave ligh'? How yo' know?" Gosh darn it. How dare this mushroom deer and all its crazy rants be interesting to her! She supposed hanging out for a little while longer could be... nice. Maybe. If it ended up being useful somehow. Maybe even if it didn't.

@Tahi-shei let's go 'til 30!

He paused, and frowned. "... I guess I just sort of assumed 'cause of all the wires," he admitted, looking over at the generator. "The lights are all connected by wires, you can see it in the smaller caves. I think they're the same wires. I tried to see if there was any mold or anything inside so I could see its inner mechanisms but it didn't really work the last time." He still recalled the headache.

Madhukar looked up at the cave lights-- ah! Actually, nope, bad idea! That was not a thing that she kept or would keep doing. Instead, she decided to trust Tahi when the claim became that wires connected all the lights. Madhukar hadn't ever really taken any interest in the cave lights before. She had just kind of... assimilated them into the background. They came on, they went off, and it was never of any consequence for her. To now finally start thinking about them was... a little eye opening, actually.

"We coul' try agai'," the kitten offered. She wanted to know how it would work, too! Maybe her electricity could help any mushrooms grow, if Tahi could try to grow mushrooms in there.

Tahi-shei cringed and laughed a little, somewhat nervously. "Um, I would actually rather not do that? It snapped back at me pretty violently the last time I tried, and I'm worried that it might have something to do with the mechanism itself. It was a headache I still sometimes think about," he said, trying to keep his tone light. He'd very nearly stopped then and there after that had gone down, but he'd had a spell to learn.

He cleared his throat. "How about I walk you home instead? I'm pretty tired."

"Oh." It did that?! To Tahi!?! WHY?? Well fine then, mechanism, curiosity rescinded! Don't you DARE ever hurt Madhukar's f-- Madhukar's-- TAHI, or else you will have HELL TO PAY!!! "Yeah ok." The kitten accepted Tahi's offer, understanding Tahi's wish since it had been explained. She gave a glare to the generator as she began to move towards home. Would it mean anything to the buzzing hunk of... wires and stuff? Maybe not, but the potential was there. And if the probability was there. Madhukar would take any chance to send a warning to mysterious offenders of her... of people like Tahi. OFHERFRIENDS OKAY THERE I SAID IT!!
