Bones had no concept of death.

Despite enjoying running after prey and eating them alive, he didn't realise that sometimes life just stops. He had never been told that people perish, despite his home being filled with bones - but that said, most don't have to be told about it.

Coming out from Pisces, the pup decided to visit the little numbat he met while passing through Polaris. Perhaps he could take him to meet his mother back in Canis, to see the mushroom garden, but the enterance to Polaris was different.

Usually, there was a faint blue glow by the enterence to Polaris, but this time it was different. It was hot, angry and red. The heat was what surprised him the most - Polaris was warmer, yes, but not usually this hot. It pricked curiousity inside him, causing his ears to perk up high as he stared in at the fire licking the cave walls inside.

So why did he stop walking?

Like any curious pup, his instinct would usually have been to run right into Polaris without a second thought, but there was something wrong. A peculiar feeling. All four of his legs felt frozen stiff, unable to move, while his belly shifted and moved impatiently, upturning the contents of his belly.

He didn't move, only just containing his earlier rat-meal. He simply stared into Polaris in silence.

Never before had Louie been to this specific area of the caves, the South-West quadrant held no interest to him other than the knowledge that there was another group dwelling here. Maji Walezi, significantly larger and possibly dangerous to the Merry Men and their central goal. Having ventured from Orion, he had spent little time in the unfamiliar territory, instead skirting along the walls in order to remain undetected as he headed towards Polaris. Of course, there was an easier way but Louie had been hoping to size up this "rag tag" group.

Unfortunately, circumstance of obvious high tensions and the uneasy feeling that seemed to hang over the chamber had sent him packing and he headed towards Polaris. His excuse from the beginning. Not yet having claimed a Gembound victim, he was wondering when that time would come, when he would be able to leech the life off another and claim their gem for his collection of wares and provide its magic to him. Louie's own, dangled precariously off the beginning of his neck from his jawbone. Hidden by his fur, he spent many hours rubbing his paw over it in what some would consider a philosophical manner.

Tongue running over his canines, he cast out his magic to feel for life but stopped short of actually summoning this magic. Something was off. More off than what had been in Pisces and his body lowered to the ground, ears pricked and fur raised. The initial uneasiness and shock wearing off, he quickly sent out the message to his microscopic minions to illuminate...

... At first, there was darkness, but a particular area began to glow slightly and he looked to the ferns. Since he had the disadvantage, he made no effort to announce his presence and instead snuck around to one side of this creature. Whoever it was, would be made to reveal himself by his own clumsy movements rather than his demands.
