Comet pushed the block of ice encasing a mace in front of her, leaving only paw prints and a trail of water behind. It was something that she had gotten from one of her expeditions in Ursa. She wasn't sure how James quite felt about the whole situation. Considering it was an actual weapon. Problem was, she couldn't carry it.

First, the mace was too heavy for her to carry in her mouth for a long time, and second, the grip on it was not made for teeth. So she decided that she was going to visit the Collector who James had told her about to see if that could be fixed. Settling herself down in a random spot, she called out. "Collector!"

James followed with clear concern on his face, firstly wondering why Comet had a mace, and also wondering where in the caves she found it. Well, Ursa, as she'd explained earlier while trying to convince her to come with, but wasn't that where the Mother-infected Gembound had run off to?

"Er- dear," he said, trotting after her with his head at her level, "Are you certain you needed to come to the Collector? I doubt he can just shrink it to fit your mouth."

James could have offered to wrap the hilt in something to give Comet more grip- and if she was fully grown, she would probably be able to wield it better, but then again, vines weren't the most durable thing.

"Why did you put it ice?", he also asked, that having been a question on his mind.

Putting it in ice just made it heavier, didn't it?

With a flash he was there, just after she called--standing behind them, towering and still.

Ahh, the winged horse--was his task so soon complete-? He spoke with head canted slightly to one side, after James had finished speaking--from behind.

"Ahhh, James--back so soon? I fear my end of the bargain is certainly not yet held up." Tone apologetic, slightly puzzled--it had only been, what, three days? Perhaps four? Crimson pinprick eyes fell to the white wolf, and the block of ice. "My apologies, dear," (mimicry of James' term of endearment), "I am the Collector--I believe we have not yet met. Are you perhaps here because of--the ice?" he asked (or whatever, he supposed, might be in it).

James, so easily startled, jumped forward and spun around, ears pinned for a moment before he let out a breath.

"Sorry-", he said, sheepish, "You startled me."

Once his heart stopped racing, he faced the Collector properly and spoke, "I'm not done with my task either, I'm afraid. I have yet to locate Ari or his stones, but I've told Comet, my daughter here, the Edenfolk, and the Kingdom of Eridanus. I hope to talk to the Seven and perhaps the Bonebound while I'm here."

He sighed gently, "My daughter, actually, has need of you."

Though he was still clueless as to why.

"I put it in ice because ice is slippery! Then I can slide it. It is too heavy and weird for me to carry." Comet gave the ice block an extra hard push and watched it slide several feet to show him. She wasn't sure either if the Collector would be able to help her with being able to carry the mace around. But it was worth a try.

Soon after she called, James jumped into the air and turned around. The pup spun around to, to see the Collector. That was creepy, it was like he knew that they were coming. "Oh um, yes. I found this... thing. Would it be possible for you to adjust it so I would be able to carry it and use it?" Comet requested.

"Very well," the Collector agreed, a nod in James' direction. And then, with faint humor, he added "That gives me more time to finish my task."

To Comet, he then gave his full attention; clawed hands clasped politely before him, and he regarded her, and then the mace, with interest. He gestured to it as she finished speaking, stepping closer to inspect it. "A pleasure to meet you, Comet. As for utilizing this item, what precisely did you have in mind? What did you wish to do with it, and how would you wish it to be altered?"

James nodded, "Excellent. Thank you."

He stood behind Comet, almost touching her as he peered at the ice block. Certainly just putting a bit on the end and dragging it could have been a tad easier... But it was in the past.

"Wait- using it?", James asked, squinting at the mace and then at Comet, "You're already getting yourself into enough trouble as is- I swear if you get into fights- well, more fights-"

James rubbed the top joint of his wings down his face with a tired sigh, shaking his head. Comet was going to be the death of him one of these days- and with a sibling? Having two little rascals running about would turn him grey!

Comet folded back her ears in alarm. Whoops she should not have said that. Now James was thinking that she was going to use the mace-- which she was. "But renny, it will help me fight better!" The horse was always worrying about her doing crazy things, but it was in her nature. She might as well use the mace to protect herself. Not like she was going to go purposely looking for fights... right?

"I want to use it to fight things. It would help if it could be made lighter or smaller, and easier for me to use in battle." she requested. From what she had heard from James, she knew that the Collector could give things, but not if he could adjust things. But it would be for a price.

Well, he couldn't give her anything too terrible to do--not with James and the other, ongoing task present. The Collector considered.

"Magically? No. However, you may be able to find a metalworker who can simply shave parts of it away, and reforge it into something smaller. Alternatively, perhaps you'd wish to trade it for something smaller in my collection-?" and his voice held the hints of an innocent smile.

"No! No fighting unless it's in self defense!", he exclaimed, as if he was the one who had succeeded in one of Emuh's trials and not the younger wolf.

The raid against that damn bear had given him enough of a heart attack, let alone her refusing to leave! Did she have a death wish! Not to mention the leviathan and the redfangs-

James didn't want to fight in front of the collector, but this was rediculous!
